Cursed Immortality

Chapter 946: Nominal Ownership! (1)

Jacob looked at Soulless, who was laughing maniacally with terrifying hatred in his voice.

ʼHe wants vengeance, huh?ʼ Jacob mused as he also wanted to laugh in derision since this might remain a wish of Soulless forever.

However, Jacob was also quite startled by what Soulless revealed about the Soulless Ghost Ancestor. This encounter with Soulless gave him a new view of treasures with Artifact Spirits.

Although they might be someone elseʼs creations, the stronger they grow, the more real they become, and it was nothing but foolishness to underestimate them. They should only be loyal to their true owners, creators, and those beings with absolute power over them.

So, as long as one didnʼt gain complete control over such treasures, it would be wise never to trust them completely. The Divine Soulless Pagoda was a nefarious treasure, to begin with, but Jacob still hoped that Soulless would not sully the inheriting process since it was still an artifact.

But in the end, Jacob was again proven wrong, and the belief to never trust even a soul in Zodiac Plains strengthened even further unless he had complete control over the other partyʼs life and death.

”Since thatʼs the case, what now?” Jacob asked as he wanted to get this façade over with.

The moment Soulless fell into his clutches, Jacob was completely confident in reining it.

Soulless suddenly stopped laughing and spoke with a hint of surprise, ”You seemed quite calm given the information I just revealed.”

Jacob shook his head as he replied, ”Even if I cried a river, would anything change? From my experience to this point, without any actual power, there is no point in resisting those with true power and control. Besides, since you promised to make me powerful, I have no qualms with your arrangement, even if it means turning into your vessel!”

”Good! Very good; now I am startled to understand how you can create such a Soul Totem.” Soulless praised sincerely, ”You are absolutely right; in the face of true power, everything else is meaningless. But worry not, for I will not waste away your potential. I have the entire heritage of the Soulmancer, and with your talent, youʼll be the strongest Soulmancer of ages; maybe you even found a way to reach the Beyond that my creator dreamt of once.”

A hint of sadness surfaced in Soullessʼs voice for a moment before he became solemn, ”Now, Iʼll start the Nominal Ownership Ritual and make you the Nominal Owner of the Divine Soulless Pagoda as promised.

”However, during this ceremony, Iʼll also use the ʼDivine Accordʼ in your Nexus Point to enter it. Since you have such a ridiculous soul totem and your peerless Divine Soulless Codex, as long as I donʼt use my prowess or abilities, your soul wonʼt suffer any damage.

”But once you reach the Higher-God Realm, you will be able to handle some of my powers, and in the meanwhile, Iʼll teach you and nurture with will the treasures stored in me; youʼll become a Higher-God in a few million years, and a Class-8 Soulmancer!”

The soulless voice was filled with elation and impatience as it couldnʼt wait to make Jacob grow as he wished. But Jacob remained emotionless as he heard those promises.

ʼEven if I became a Higher God, would I still be myself by then?ʼ Jacob wanted to retort and mock Soulless, but he knew this wasnʼt the time.

At least he now knew what Soullessʼs goal was from the start, and that black scroll was called the ʼDivine Accordʼ and Soulless was planning on using it during this Nominal Ownership Ritual to enter his Nexus point since it would be absolutely impossible unless Divine Soulless Pagoda were completely under his control.

This should be the Soulless goal from the start, and Jacob even wonders if the Soulless Ghost Ancestor mightʼve been in a similar situation all those years. Still, because the former used a ʼGod Accordʼ on Soulless, the latter couldnʼt do as he wished, so he probably tricked the Soulless Ghost Ancestor into his demise.

Furthermore, Soulless confidently claimed that he couldʼve broken the God Accord in due time, which means the Divine Soulless Pagoda was even more powerful than God Realm!

Thatʼs why Jacob became even more careful not to reveal anything until the moment was right.

The next moment, Jacob again teleported and appeared in another strange space. It was a vast expansion of blue filled with incomprehensible power.

Jacob instantly felt suffocated under this power and felt his entire body was being suppressed, and he had this strange urge to prostrate under this power.

But the infinity symbol on his glabella flashed, and the strange feeling washed away, and utter disgust rose in his heart.

However, Jacob wasnʼt calm anymore because he wasnʼt caged in a bubble; he was standing before a gigantic glowing monolith etched with countless complex runic patterns. In the center of this monolith was a hollow, and within this hollow was something revolving.

The moment Jacob saw that thing inside the hollow, his eyes flickered with shock as something instantly came to mind, ʼItʼs a Celestial Astrolabe with twelve rings!ʼ

Jacob knew he wasnʼt wrong as he was the owner of the Legendary Master Key, and Immortika had already explained the Godʼs Crown, the Celestial Astrolabe, to him!

Furthermore, different from the Legendary Master Key, this Celestial Astrolabe should be a genuine Godʼs Crown because its color is ethereal blue. At the same time, the rings in it were also fully golden and somewhat different.

However, the aura emitting from it was absolutely shocking, and Jacob instantly knew why he felt like prostrating himself in front of this Celestial Astrolabe, ʼIt has to be something to with the Faith Path and Law Path…ʼ

At this moment, the figure of Soulless appeared again and spoke with a hint of surprise, ”Iʼm again impressed by your will. If there were another mortal or even a Lesser God, they wouldʼve started to prostrate themselves in front of Faith Godʼs Crown. Is this the effect of your Soul Totem?”

Soulless seemed too deep in thought before speaking again, ”No matter, we have all the time to analyze your soul totem thoroughly. This place is the core of the Divine Soulless Pagoda; you can also call it my heart.

”The Nominal Ownership Ritual will be held here, so letʼs start immediately!”
