Cursed Immortality

Chapter 883: Myriad Galaxy Guardian Mountains

The Space Travesty Shuttle instantly followed Jacobʼs command. It bypassed the protective barrier of the Myriad Galaxy Guardian Mountains without alerting anyone while all those Zodiac Beasts chasing after him directly clashed with the barrier.

The next moment, some of the Zodiac Beasts in the hoard of Zodiac were directly incinerated. At the same time, those who were Legendary Nobles started to scream before quickly retreating, and only the Legendary Lords could retreat with minor damage.

Nonetheless, Jacob, who was observing this scene, had a grave expression. After all, with Immortikaʼs help, he already knew who these ghastly creatures were and had a pretty good idea about the reason for their presence.

But even he didnʼt expect it to be so bad. Now, he finally understood what kind of calamity he had provoked, and even those high and mighty experts of the Zodiac Plains couldnʼt get rid of them in over a hundred years.

If anything, the current state of the Myriad Galaxy Guardian Mountains gave Jacob a pretty good idea about the terror of Zodiac Beasts, but what he couldnʼt understand was why the Legendary Kings allowed them to harass them so much.

However, when he thought about those unknown Legendary King Rank Zodiac Beasts hidden in space, it started to make sense a little. Still, Jacob needed more information about the current state of the Legendary Plains, and only then would he decide his next course of action. Nonetheless, now that Jacob was inside the barrier and this place was clearly a region controlled by a powerful entity, it was only a matter of time before he got what he wanted, and the quickest way was through the Virtual Star World, the evolved version of Star Network! Jacob quickly found a massive city built in the middle of the mountains. The towering mountains completely surrounded the city like a ring, providing it with natural defense. The city was also enveloped in a translucent barrier, and many powerful guards stood guard on the towering walls of the city.

However, for the Space Travesty Shuttle, no defense can stop it unless it is a mythical rank, so the shuttle easily bypassed it, and then Jacob landed the Space Travesty Shuttle in a remote area of the city.

Elia, on the other hand, was both terrified and excited about exploring this new place. Jacob also secretly noticed the soul totemʼs energy level, and he was startled to see that 23% of the soul totemʼs Legendary Rank energy had already been used on this trip.

Furthermore, Jacob knew that if his soul force had not been used, he wouldʼve never made it this far, so this also made him realize how much he needed soul totems, especially legendary king-rank ones, for the space travesty shuttle.

At this moment, Jacob and Elia disembarked the shuttle before Jacob stowed it away to his soul.

Elia looked around the tall structures of the lively city and felt rejuvenated by the fresh air. After all, the Valley of Sunless Dusk was filled with death and desolation. But Elia also felt comfortable there because of her special physique. She was still a living being and preferred this environment more.

Furthermore, after Jacob ʼtookʼ her, she came in contact with so many people for the first

time.

”Teacher...” Elia was about to say something to Jacob when she suddenly stopped, and her eyes widened because she saw Jacobʼs skeletal figure suddenly morphing.

Thereupon, Jacob completely transformed from a ghastly skeleton with flaming eyes into a handsome young man with long white hair and amber eyes. Even his dark clothes changed into white scholarly robes, giving him the appearance of a harmless scholar.

But Elia noticed the most significant change in Jacobʼs aura, which was now far weaker than hers and completely contrasted with his unfathomable demeanor.

However, Eliaʼs eyes lit up when she remembered Jacobʼs appearance. Truthfully, she liked this one more because his skeletal form was simply too terrifying and ugly.

”What is it?” Jacob, who now wore Rudolphʼs appearance, which was the same as his actual appearance, noticed Eliaʼs expression and questioned.

He had no intention of explaining anything to Elia since the Gluttony Mask was the Universal Godly Artifact Visor of Chaos, and it was too sensitive to reveal its presence to anyone.

After all, Jacob knew that the woman was still in the Legendary Plains and that she might be looking for him.

Elia quickly snapped out of her stupor and shook her head, ”N-nothing. I want to ask what should we do now?”

Jacob dismissively answered, ”Weʼll keep our heads low for the time being. From what I can tell, this population is far less than its size. So, either the cityʼs residents are dead or fled somewhere. I think itʼs the latter since there is no sign of those things breaking in.

”We just need to gather information first and also get the Soul Star Watches. We are both from lesser galaxies, so we need to hide this fact at all costs. If someone becomes suspicious, Iʼll handle it. You remain quiet and observe.”

Elia quickly agreed without hesitation and followed Jacob closely. They were in the middle of a small clearing filled with trees and grass, and soon, they arrived at the paved streets filled with rows of high buildings in a unique style.

However, just as Jacob said, there werenʼt any people around, and Jacob had only observed with the soul sensors, so seeing this scene was strange. It was like they were in a ghost city. Some buildingsʼ doors were left open, and the items were in a mess. It was clear that the residents left in quite a hurry, which made Jacob sure that all the residences were evacuated.

Furthermore, this area seemed quite luxurious, so those residents here should have some status in this city.

At this moment, hurried footsteps were heard from a crossroads. Jacob remained expressionless, while Elia was fully alert and coldly looked in that direction.

Thereupon, three tall men in silver full body armor appeared, their skin was covered in gray scales, and they had horns on their heads with slit pupils like reptiles, and their demeanor was solemn and fierce. They seemed to be patrolling the city, and just when they turned around, they instantly noticed Jacob and Elia and were astounded.

One of them quickly asked coldly, ”Who are you, and what are you doing here?”
