Cursed Immortality

881  Trouble in Space! (1)

As the explosion occurred abruptly, Blackwell, who was hiding with his ghost ship, naturally noticed and was shocked.

”What the…!?” Blackwell was startled when he noticed the blinding white light covering the entire ruined city below, and a terrifying cloud rose like a volcano.

Still, Blackwell didnʼt sense any danger to himself from that explosion, and he knew that if he used his full power, he was capable of far more. Nonetheless, he was furious because he knew what kind of condition the city was in, and this explosion would destroy whatever was left.

”Did that guy trigger some trap?” Blackwell naturally thought Jacob was behind it, and his expression became grave.

Because he still thought that it would take Jacob at least a month to fully subdue the Throne of Death, even if he was more powerful than him. By that time, the ʼnewsʼ he had sent would naturally bring ʼwolvesʼ, and they could fight Jacob to death while he sneakily took the Throne.

Yet, this sudden turn of events threw his entire plan into disarray, and without hesitation, he steered his ship down to check it closely.

But at this moment, a painful look appeared on Blackwellʼs face as he quickly pressed his finger on his temple, ”This again!? What is happening with my soul totem? But there is nothing wrong with it, yet why do I feel restless whenever this pain appears?”

Blackwell didnʼt have time to dwell on this strange matter, which started to occur when he confronted Jacob, at least not now, while the Throne of Death was on the line.

But Blackwell didnʼt know that this was just the start of his suffering and…nightmare!

”Teacher, that little thing really caused that huge destruction?” Elia exclaimed after she snapped out of her stupor from experiencing the atomic explosion.

If she hadnʼt seen everything herself, she wouldnʼt dare to believe that something so small and without any magic could cause such mass destruction. This made her revere Jacob even more, and she wanted to learn about it.

”Flight ahead at full speed!” Jacob gave the copilot a command since there was nothing here for him anymore, and it was time for him to enter the waters of the Legendary Plains.

He then looked at Elia and casually said, ”You would naturally be surprised after seeing this. This is nothing; wait until you start learning about runes properly. All those books and knowledge I gave you to study have set a solid foundation for you, but you still lack practical experience.

”Learning cultivation of power and crafting are two different things, but in my opinion, they go hand in hand with each other. The former is about gaining power and evaluating your body and mind, while the latter will teach you discipline to control that power and mind.

”So, you can walk on any path, either an alchemist, rune artificer or even magic smith. These three are complex professions with countless branches and even related to each other in many ways. Each will teach you a different discipline, but their effect on your mind and body would be the same; they will teach you control and perception.”

When Elia heard this, her eyes glowed with deep curiosity. She asked, ”Then, teacher, have you mastered everything?”

Jacob shook his head, ”No one can say they have mastered everything. There are always new things to learn and room for improvement. Those who think they have learned everything just stop making progress and reach their limit. But this is also because they grow old and run out of time. Itʼs a natural phenomenon that no one can escape…”

ʼBut I will escape this cycle!ʼ Jacobʼs eyes flashed with nostalgia as he thought about his old self, who stopped making progress and let go of his obsession when he realized those things would be useless to him once he was dead. Elia nodded seriously as she said, ”Donʼt worry, teacher. Iʼll never be arrogant and always make progress!”

”Easier said than done. To make progress, you need to reach the pinnacle first, and from what I can tell, the Zodiac Plains pinnacle is almost impossible to reach.” Jacob stated. He knew far more about the Zodiac Plains, especially when the Universal Godly Scriptures came into play.

Jacob knew that if there was a pinnacle of the Zodiac Plains, it could only be achieved through these scriptures since the rules of this place wouldnʼt allow anyone else to touch it, or they would be destroyed if they came too close.

But Elia didnʼt know that, so she thought Jacob was being humble. In her heart, Jacob was like an undefeatable existence without any match. She might be over 2,000 years old, but she was still a naïve little girl without any worldly experience. ”Where are we going now?” Elia asked curiously. The shuttle was moving at lightning speed, and everything was blurry. She didnʼt know where they were heading, but she was excited nonetheless.

Jacob also had no idea where he was. All he knew was that he was in the Valley of Sunless Dusk, and as for which Great Cosmic Continent he was in, he still had no clue.

But since he had already put Nyx on this task, heʼll soon know everything he needed about the Legendary Plains once Drunkard Ghost meets his miserable end.

”Youʼll know soon enough.” Jacob dismissively replied, telling Elia that all this was meaningless.

But at this moment, Copilotʼs static voice rang, ”Warning! Multiple unknown entities are closing in! Suspected power level, Legendary Lords! Permission to use the Dimensional Space King Shielding!” Jacob was surprised, and a projection appeared in front of him. At this moment, he saw the ʼunknown entitiesʼ flashing through the sky, leaving behind black streaks in their path. They were extremely fast.

They were hideous creators with bat wings and worm-like bodies, with a sharp, glistering black stinger. They only had a single white eyeball. They released a black miasma mist from their bodies, and they seemed to be locked on the shutter, which wasnʼt in the Dimensional Space King Shielding mood.

After all, the Dimensional Space King Shielding uses a huge amount of energy, and Jacob doesnʼt want to waste it unless necessary. But those creatures were bizarre because, despite their suspected Legendary Lord rank, they were as fast as Legendary King rank, giving Jacob a bad feeling about them.

Furthermore, despite the shuttleʼs protection, Jacob could tell that these creatures werenʼt dark beings or living beings; they were very strange and unique.

At this moment, just when Jacob was busy observing them, the Copilotʼs voice rang again, ”Warning! Warning! Detect an unknown space distortion! Suspected power level, Legendary King! Permission to use the Instant Hyperdrive!”

Now Jacob was finally alarmed and quickly ordered, ”Use it!”
