Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 49: Chapter 9 This plan is trash

The uproar was caused by two reasons. The first reason was that a month ago, the infamous and sleazy Invincible God SM01314 reappeared on the internet. Every day, the spectator area was packed with people watching SM01314’s battles.

This time, the sleazy and mysterious figure was even stronger than before, especially fond of close combat. His bizarre and obscene fighting style could make those who compiled the Seventy-two sex positions die of shame.

The second reason was that the ordinary version of the Simulated War Network would be publicly released in all countries of human society in a few days. This meant that top players worldwide could compete in the same game

The multinational giant Youli Technology Company, headquartered in the Federation, bought the distribution and operation rights of the ordinary version of the Simulated War Network. The company was famous for manufacturing Private Mechas, ranked thirty-third among international companies. This time, leveraging local business advantages, securing the operating rights from the Federation Government was enough to boost the company’s international ranking to the top twenty.

The financial estimate was that a year later, this game would bring trillions in revenue to the Leray Federation’s finances, which would undoubtedly be a shot in the arm for the Federation amid the war.

The ordinary version was entirely different from the military version of the Leray Federation. The military had deleted all data related to military secrets. Youli Company organized over thirty working groups to design this international online war game centered around Private Mechas based on the platform of the Simulated War Network, named ”Sky-Filling Fire.”

The emergence of ”Sky-Filling Fire” immediately shook human society. Those giant companies knew that there was no need to think about the operating rights since the Leray Federation would undoubtedly not hand it over to companies outside the country. After all, it was best to keep some sensitive data in their hands.

However, the enormous profit still drove these companies to the Leray Federation. After an intense scramble, they divided the secondary promotion operating rights.

Almost overnight, a red ”Sky-Filling Fire” billboard was erected on the busiest streets of every city in human society. The newly developed simulation game pods flooded into major shopping malls.

This was the most realistic and free game in human history. Except for some necessary plot points, the game mainly focused on interaction. Anything that existed in reality could be achieved in the game. Battles between Mechas, warships, and nations were so realistic that it made people terrified.

The official game operation had already entered the countdown. Among those most eager and happy was Tian Xingjian.

The research lab was the primary development institution for the simulation system, and all the researchers involved in the study were rewarded. Therefore, for Fatty, the nominal second-in-command of the lab, it was extremely easy to get a top-tier game pod in the name of the lab. Youli Company delivered the game pod to Fatty’s dorm almost as soon as the request was submitted.

The close combat of Mechas had left a deep impression on Tian Xingjian during the battles. He could fully anticipate that future ground battles would be dominated by close-combat Mechas that would continue to emerge.

In war, when both sides’ artillery fire disappeared with distance, whichever side had stronger close combat strength would win. Therefore, due to the strict control of energy weapons, Private Mechas that mainly relied on close combat as their primary attack method would shine brightly in the war.

Who wouldn’t understand this point? This was one of the reasons why ”Sky-Filling Fire” became so popular. At that time, countless military trainees and soldiers would enter this realistic virtual world to gain actual combat experience in confrontations with warriors worldwide.

The Leray Federation’s hidden intention was simple. Wasn’t the Gazalin Federation a country in a long-term state of war? Didn’t they have a Mythical Army that hadn’t been off the battlefield for hundreds of years?

You have rich combat experience, so we’ll make you even richer. However, our low-level experience grows faster. When everyone’s combat experience becomes rich, your advantage won’t be as apparent, right?

Tian Xingjian was almost counting on his fingers, eagerly awaiting the launch of ”Sky-Filling Fire.”

Once you have expectations in your heart, days seem particularly long. Tian Xingjian was idly staring at the continuously refreshing data on the computer in his office when suddenly, the door was kicked open.

The inattentive Fatty was startled and reflexively jumped up and turned around, only to see a Lieutenant Colonel storming in, followed by a group of military staff.

That Lieutenant Colonel threw the file in his hand onto the table next to Tian Xingjian, his face full of anger, and shouted, ”Look at the crap you calculated!”

Tian Xingjian was somewhat baffled. He picked up the file and saw it was the New Rome defense plan sent by the 2nd Research Room. Among the three defense plans, only one was relatively realistic after simulations and data calculations. This Colonel brought one of the lousy plans.

Tian Xingjian looked at it for a long time but couldn’t see his mistake. Annoyed by their overbearing attitude, he scratched his head deliberately to confuse them and said to the Lieutenant Colonel, ”I calculated this; no mistake. I remember this garbage; who made it?”

Fatty thought, ”Are you kidding me? If I were to display my medals, even the General would have to salute first. What are you little beans worth compared to a watermelon?” This guy’s inherently bullying and deceitful nature meant that he never hesitated to bully whenever he could, especially when the other party provoked him first.

The cheap guy with an innocent and honest look, as if the plan was really garbage, was just telling the truth.

The Lieutenant Colonel was furious, with stars dancing before his eyes. The staff behind him were in an uproar, and a Major jumped out, pointing at Tian Xingjian’s nose and cursing, ”What are you? How dare you call Colonel Keren’s plan garbage!”

The 6th Research Room saw the most excitement for the first time. Other research room members on the same floor came over and crowded Tian Xingjian’s office.

Fatty still looked innocent and honest, stammering, ”This broken plan is really garbage. I’m not lying.”

That Colonel Keren was utterly enraged. This foolish-looking Fatty not only refused to admit his mistake before so many people but also intensified it, insisting that his plan was garbage.

Furiously, he grabbed Tian Xingjian’s collar and shouted, ”Try saying that one more time if you dare.”

Tian Xingjian nodded pitifully and said honestly, ”Okay, this plan is really garbage. I’m not lying.”

Some staff watching the fun couldn’t help but laugh. This stupid Fatty was a real piece of work.

In his rage, Keren swung his fist, but unexpectedly, the silly-looking Lieutenant suddenly raised his hand to block it, grabbing his fist tightly. It hurt unbearably, feeling as if it was welded from steel and couldn’t budge.

Fatty’s face changed, and he sneered, ”Why? You think I can tolerate shit but not piss? You hit people just because I said your plan was garbage?” With a swift move, he twisted Keren’s arm behind his back. The intense pain forced Keren uncontrollably to the table under Fatty’s arm pressure.
