Checking in for 100,000 Years

Chapter 36: Chapter 36: Revenge, Pointing the Sword at the Old Sword Saint

For the past month, the top eight powers of the Ancient Moon Dynasty had all been challenged by a mysterious young man and woman.

The Blood Robe Sect was the first to bear the brunt. The Blood Robe Sect’s Shaping God Realm experts forcibly intervened but were all killed. This nearly wiped out the entire Sect.

Then, this young man and woman went on to challenge the other major Sects, without a single loss.

Those great Sects had no choice but to hand over all the Sect resources in their Treasure Pavilions. With smashed teeth, they swallowed their humiliation.

They were helpless against this young couple, because this young man and woman were two peerless powerhouses themselves—great Cultivators of the Shaping God Realm!

However, for some unknown reason, they had deliberately sealed their cultivation base, only displaying the cultivation level of the Origin Sea Realm.

Thus, this matter seemed exceedingly strange and became widely known throughout the Ancient Moon Dynasty.

As Disciples of the Sword God Sect, they had naturally heard of it as well.

Unexpectedly, the Sword God Sect could not escape this fate either.

Today, they too welcomed a challenge from this mysterious young man and woman.

「At the mountain gate.」

The two Disciples looked at each other and sighed lightly. Because they were only at the ninth layer of the Mysterious Pill Realm, they were unqualified to be involved in this fight. So, the two just stared nervously at the black carriage.

The striking young man and woman suddenly made their move.

Luo Li and Jun Moxiao leaped down from the carriage.

The two stood in the center of the square.

Luo Li cupped her fists and shouted, ”Sword God Sect, come out and fight!”

「Inside the main hall.」

Zhao Wuji and the Old Sword Saint, who were already prepared, exchanged a glance and quickly walked out.

When the Old Sword Saint stepped over the threshold of the main hall and his eyes first fell upon Jun Moxiao, an expression of utter disbelief and shock appeared on his face.

He was no stranger to this young man.

He quickly glanced at the stunningly beautiful young woman beside him, and his gaze instantly turned grim.

Aren’t these two remnants of the Divine Dragon Sect? How could they suddenly have such a fortuitous encounter and have their cultivation skyrocket?

The Old Sword Saint was filled with doubt. He had just come out of seclusion and hadn’t yet received news from the Wanbao Pavilion. So, his astonishment upon recognizing Luo Li and Jun Moxiao was immense.

Two mere Gathering Qi Realm Disciples had suddenly transformed into tenth-layer Origin Sea Realm Cultivators! If the intelligence reports were accurate, these two had sealed their true cultivation base and were actually great Cultivators at the Shaping God Realm Tenth Layer. This is simply unimaginable!

The Old Sword Saint’s eyes darted around as he pondered the various possibilities.

The Divine Dragon Sect has long been past its prime, with each generation weaker than the last. In the centuries the Old Sword Saint had been in his position, he had dealt with several Sect Masters of the Divine Dragon Sect. He knew this obscure Sect through and through. It was incredibly weak, not even qualifying for the lowest tier among Sects in the entire Ancient Moon Dynasty. So what kind of incredible fortune did these two young people stumble upon?

The Old Sword Saint’s gaze, sharp as a sword, swept over them but found nothing out of the ordinary. Apart from their high cultivation bases, the Robes these remnants of the Divine Dragon Sect wore and the Swords they carried were of no remarkable quality. Could they have accidentally consumed some heavenly treasure? Or perhaps they stumbled upon the legacy of some ancient powerhouse? he speculated silently.

Regardless, recalling the instructions from his superiors, the Old Sword Saint knew he absolutely could not let these two youths escape. Perhaps that young woman, the so-called new generation Sect Master of the Dragon God Sect, should be spared. Cripple half her cultivation base, let her live out her days. After all, she’s only the 298th-generation Sect Master. The Dragon God Sect hasn’t reached its 300th generation yet. My mission isn’t just to torment the Dragon God Sect’s Successors, but to ensure the Sect endures to the 300th generation before completely wiping it out, erasing it from the annals of history. This was the secret mission the Old Sword Saint carried.

Initially, he too found this mission preposterous. But he had no choice; his superiors had once told him it was the will of those even higher up. The Old Sword Saint was aghast. His superiors were already major Sects. Two levels above them? Could it be a Sky-Level Sect orchestrating all this from the shadows? A Sky-Level Sect! Such an entity was a terrifyingly supreme power! A single Disciple from such a Sect could obliterate the entire Ancient Moon Dynasty. What powerful figure could the insignificant Dragon God Sect have offended to be hounded for dozens of generations? The Old Sword Saint dared not dwell on it further.

Fortunately, these two remnants of the Dragon God Sect have now come to the Sword God Sect. Since they’re here, they won’t be leaving.

”Senior Sister, that must be the Old Sword Saint, right?” Jun Moxiao asked, his voice grave, as he squinted at an elderly man in white with an immortal-like bearing walking out.

”It’s this old bastard,” Luo Li said through clenched teeth.

This old brute had hidden behind the scenes, giving orders that left several generations of Dragon God Sect members destitute and in miserable conditions.

”Today, we must kill him and avenge ourselves!” Jun Moxiao declared, drawing his Sword, his killing intent surging.

”Where are the Sword God Sect Disciples?” Zhao Wuji waved his hand, and hundreds of Disciples from the Sword God Sect rushed out from all directions.

”You two are truly audacious. Do you think our Sword God Sect is a paper tiger?” Zhao Wuji sneered.

As his words fell, the Origin Sea Realm Disciples around him immediately began to move according to a specific formation.

In an instant, the Big Dipper Formation took shape.

Luo Li glanced around and smiled coolly, ”Zhao Wuji, you weakling, don’t bother blustering here. This time, we’ve come to directly challenge the Old Sword Saint. You can go rest on the side!”

”What? These two actually want to challenge the Divine Bridge Realm Old Sword Saint?”

The faces of the Origin Sea Realm Disciples, who were maintaining the formation, showed utter shock.

Zhao Wuji also looked taken aback.

Have these two become so arrogant as to be completely lawless?

At this moment, Luo Li’s and Jun Moxiao’s bodies trembled slightly, and the sound of a Seal shattering echoed from within them.

Their cultivation base was restored to the Shaping God Realm in an instant.

The powerful Super Divine Dragon Breath they exuded was startling. Even Zhao Wuji, at the Shaping God Realm Tenth Layer, felt his heart pound in fear.

”Old Sword Saint, you old scoundrel! You’ve hidden behind the scenes, tormenting my Divine Dragon Sect for nearly a hundred years! Today, we’ve come for revenge!” Luo Li cried, raising her Supreme Golden Dragon Sword, its tip aimed at the Old Sword Saint, her eyes bloodshot with intense emotion.

They broke the Seal? The Old Sword Saint squinted, a muscle twitching in his cheek.

These two youths certainly have some skill. Either one of them is stronger than my direct Disciple, Zhao Wuji. But the Shaping God Realm is still the Shaping God Realm. Even ten Shaping God Realm Cultivators combined would be no match for someone at the Divine Bridge Realm. What’s more, I, the Old Sword Saint, have been immersed in the Sword Dao for nearly three hundred years. My mastery of the Sword Dao is earth-shattering. Even in the Shenfeng Dynasty, few in my realm can defeat me.
