Charm point maxed out, inheriting game assets

Chapter 68: Chapter 67 Keep it up, beautician friend! Chapter 68: Chapter 67 Keep it up, beautician friend! Watching the Wuling Hongguang disappear from view, Tang Song’s mind was still replaying the hug they just shared, and he felt some regret.

He had been a bit dull just now, he should’ve seized the chance to offer her a hug then and there.

It had to be said, Gao Mengting’s personality was truly great, generous and natural; she was a very easy friend to get along with.

Immediately after, Tang Song thought of his beautician friend Zhao Yaqian.

He opened the system interface and checked the item “VAM Agreement”.

[Remaining time: 9 days]

On the 8th of April, he had obtained this item, which gave him the courage to befriend the beautician Zhao Yaqian.

In the blink of an eye, 21 days had passed.

They had gone from strangers to good friends, chatting, skin care, dining, and traveling together.

Zhao Yaqian was straightforward and a bit naively charming, never cunning, and she was very good to him as well.

Even without craving for her body, Tang Song really liked this friend.

Unfortunately, she never developed that kind of romantic interest in him.

Tang Song’s mind inevitably recalled something Zhao Yaqian had said last time, “We’ll always be good friends, right?”

He wasn’t a fool, of course he could hear the hidden meaning behind her words.

Taking a deep breath, Tang Song got into his BMW 330 and headed for Yunsheng Square.

This time he was going for a facial treatment and to have a chat with the beautician.

If she really didn’t have those feelings for him, then he might as well terminate the VAM Agreement and withdraw the VAM Money.

With the title “popular me”, the VAM Agreement’s 300,000 yuan had lost the allure it once had.

Moreover, without the constraints of that item, their relationship could be simpler.

…

After parking his car outside Yunsheng Square, Tang Song followed the bustling crowd to the familiar “Handmade Fried Skewer Shop”.

He ordered some of Qianqian’s favorite skewers and bought two fruit teas.

He walked along the familiar pedestrian street for a while.

Tang Song looked up at the dark storefront and signs, his eyebrows furrowing.

Yiz Beauty Salon usually closed after 9 o’clock, and even if it was closed for business, the sign would usually remain lit.

It was only 8 o’clock in the evening.

Tang Song had a sinking feeling, what the hell! It couldn’t have gone out of business, could it?

He took out his phone and sent Zhao Yaqian a voice call invitation.

“Ding-ding-ding——ding-ding-ding——”

After a good while, the call was finally answered.

“Hello, Brother Song, I’m here.” Although she tried hard to disguise it, her voice still sounded muffled, probably because she had just been crying.

So it was true.

Tang Song pursed his lips and said softly, “Qianqian, are you okay?”

There was a pause on the other end of the phone, followed by Zhao Yaqian’s sniffling, “Brother Song… Yiz Beauty Industry has… has closed down, and your membership card… can’t be refunded either, I’m sorry.”

Tang Song quickly comforted her, “Don’t cry, don’t cry, it’s not a big deal, just find another beauty salon to continue working at. My membership card doesn’t matter, as long as you continue to guide me, that’s good.”

There was the sound of blowing her nose from the receiver, and Zhao Yaqian sobbed for quite a while.

Then she said, “Before the shop closed, the boss only paid a month’s wages, he still owes me two months.”

“It happened just this afternoon, all the equipment in the shop was taken away, I only managed to take a box of skincare products and a few small devices.”

“Brother Song, I’ll send you some masks and serums later, I’m really sorry.”

Tang Song said softly, “You don’t need to say sorry, it’s not your fault. If anyone is to be blamed, it should be your bastard boss.”

“Right! It’s all that old bastard’s fault! He makes me so angry!” Zhao Yaqian exclaimed angrily, “Me and a few colleagues are planning to file for labor arbitration together, but getting the money back might be difficult, he is up to his neck in debt and is just a deadbeat. When I started the job…”

Once Zhao Yaqian started talking about her heartless boss who owed her wages, she couldn’t stop venting.

She was so preoccupied with her rant that she didn’t even continue crying, instead telling Tang Song about all the unfair treatment she had encountered during her six months of work, cursing her boss endlessly.

Tang Song stood outside Yiz Beauty Salon, watching the people coming and going, occasionally chipping in to echo a few words, trying to comfort her.

More than ten minutes later.

Zhao Yaqian took a long breath, apparently having finally calmed down a bit.

“Brother Song, I’m okay now! Thank you for understanding, and for listening to my complaints for so long. My cousin had to work overtime today, and I felt really suffocated being alone. It feels much better after talking to you.”

“You can call me if you run into anything in the future.” Tang Song, holding the fried skewers, turned and walked toward the exit, greeted by the cool evening breeze.

“I…I was just afraid of bothering you at work, after all, you’re usually quite busy, and it wouldn’t be good for me to keep unloading negative energy on you.”

“It’s okay.”

Zhao Yaqian spoke with a lowered voice, “I still don’t know what to do next. Tomorrow’s the start of the May Day holiday, and in the next few days, I’ll prepare well and try to find a job at a big beauty salon that offers the five insurances.”

Tang Song took a deep breath and encouraged, “There’s no prolonged low without a peak, life has its moments. Keep it up! My beautician friend. If you really can’t find a job, you can come to me, I’ll support you.”

“Pfft—” Zhao Yaqian burst into laughter and said, “I’m not easy to support, with skincare, makeup, rent, clothes, I spend several thousand yuan a month!”

“Just several thousand yuan, that’s too little.”

“Brother Song, you’ve really ‘Gone with the Wind’! To use my cousin’s words, supporting me is harder than paying a mortgage.”

…

As they continued chatting, Tang Song gradually reached the central area of Yunsheng Square.

People were coming and going all around, with quite a few live-streaming on their phones, and many couples hugging, kissing, holding hands.

Tang Song stopped in his tracks, speaking lightheartedly, “Zhao Yaqian, do you have feelings for me? I mean the kind between boyfriends and girlfriends.”

“Ah!” A cry of surprise came through the earpiece, followed by a long silence and the sound of disordered breathing.

Clearly, she was taken aback by his sudden direct approach.

Tang Song looked up at the sky, vast and blue like a giant silk banner, and smiled at the bright moon.

Since the arrival of the game system, his life had been completely overturned, and he had gone through a lot.

Appearance makeover, restraint and persistence, Smile Holding, Cognitive Awakening, getting a car and property, unlocking the first-stage reward, resigning, starting a business…

Growth is never about grand gestures, but about the calm after the storm and self-renewal.

Now, he was different from how he had been a month ago.

At least at this moment, he could confidently and serenely say what he wanted to say.

On the phone, there was only the sound of breathing.

Tang Song asked, “Are you still there?”

“I am.” Her voice was soft and raw, accompanied by the sound of a tongue licking lips and teeth, “Brother Song… you…”

After a long wait, she still hadn’t made herself clear.

“Is it that difficult? Alright, I think I know the answer.”

“I…”

Tang Song laughed and continued walking, “I just wanted to simply confirm that. You must be tired today, have a good sleep, bye.”

“Bye…”

After hanging up, Tang Song looked at the fried skewers and milk tea in his hand.

He took a photo and shared it with Zhao Yaqian.

Opening the door, getting into the car.

Tang Song pulled out a skewer of ready-to-burst radish and began to eat, a bit cold by now, but still delicious.

Leaning back in the seat after eating a few skewers, Tang Song took out a wet wipe to clean his hands.

Starting the car, just as he was about to set off, a crisp system notification sound echoed in his ear.

“Ding! The condition 3 of the ‘VAM Agreement’ has been met! The current VAM Money has inflated to 300,000 yuan.”

Tang Song blinked, somewhat puzzled.

What was going on?

The requirement in the condition to ‘gain Zhao Yaqian’s affection’ was very strict; it had to be the kind of affection between lovers, and there could be no faking it.

So why had she remained silent just now?

After much deliberation, Tang Song gave up on wild guesses.

This was also a good thing, proving at least that the nature of their relationship was beginning to change.

Thinking of Zhao Yaqian’s long and slender legs, Tang Song cheerfully opened the music player.

Listening to the pleasant music, he clicked ‘Withdraw’.

“Ding—” The text message notification sounded.

The 300,000 yuan VAM Money was successfully transferred.
