Charm point maxed out, inheriting game assets

Chapter 63: Chapter 62 The Place Where Dreams Begin Chapter 63: Chapter 62 The Place Where Dreams Begin After lunch, the two returned to the office and officially started their work.

They created an account, registered a Douyin shop, and submitted it for review.

They discussed the decoration and layout of the live broadcast room.

They picked out office equipment and supplies: computers and accessories, printers, water dispensers, refrigerators, microwaves, live broadcasting equipment, consumables…

These items had to be ready before the employees started.

Since the company was small and there weren’t many employees initially, the total cost came to 90,000 yuan.

Gao Mengting had suggested buying second-hand, but Tang Song had directly declined.

Since the corporate account couldn’t make external payments until three days later, they only picked out items online for now.

They would place the order in a couple of days, and pay online directly from the corporate account.

6 p.m.

Tang Song leaned on the cloud sofa in the corner, admiring the serious profile of Gao Mengting at work.

“Shouldn’t it be time to get off work now?”

“Give me another 10 minutes,” Gao Mengting continued, “The front desk LOGO wall is very important; it can visually represent the brand image of the company. I just got in touch with a junior of mine and asked her to help with the design. Do you have any requirements for Songmei Clothing’s LOGO?”

“Well, as for requirements…” Tang Song stroked his chin and said, “Just make it simple and beautiful. Why don’t we find a professional design company to do it?”

Gao Mengting swiveled in her ergonomic chair, looking at him with a smile, “My junior is very talented in graphic design. She had helped me with LOGO and packaging design before, full of creativity, no less than professional designers outside, and more importantly, she’s more dedicated. Let’s give her a try; if you’re not satisfied, we can always change.”

“Alright, President Gao, I’ll take your word for it,” Tang Song waved at her.

Gao Mengting’s lips curved upward, her high heels tilting slightly.

A little while later.

Gao Mengting closed her laptop, stood up, and said with some excitement, “Let’s go, off work!”

She had been hands-on with opening her store since graduation and had never experienced this feeling of getting off work on time. It was quite novel.

They packed up briefly, then walked towards the door.

When they reached the front desk area, Gao Mengting suddenly stopped and said, “Wait for me a moment; I almost forgot about something important!”

“What’s the important thing?” Tang Song asked curiously.

Gao Mengting took out her phone, took a few photos of the office area, then beckoned Tang Song over.

She smiled, “Let’s take a photo together to commemorate the establishment of our company.”

“Indeed, we should keep a memento,” Tang Song nodded and stood to Gao Mengting’s left.

Behind them was the company’s front desk, empty but very stylish and impressive.

Gao Mengting raised her phone, holding it in front of them both.

Looking at the image on the screen, she hesitated a moment, then put her left hand around Tang Song’s right arm, her head tilting slightly to the left.

Tang Song stiffened for a moment, but quickly relaxed.

The warm touch, the faint scent of her body.

With her in high heels, her head was just at the level of his nose.

“Cheese!”

“Click—”

Their first joint photo was born.

Gao Mengting released his arm and walked a few steps forward, then turned around to face him, smile blooming like a flower.

“Tang Song, in a few years, when Songmei Clothing successfully gets listed and we ring the bell at the exchange, looking back at this photo, this will be where our dream began.”

“By then, we won’t just be a small live-streaming company; we’ll have our own office building, our own clothing brand, design company, and production factory.”

“Our branches will spread throughout Huaxia; we’ll be the leading national fashion brand in the market.”

“We’ll also launch our luxury brand, find the biggest stars for endorsements, and sponsor various variety shows, concerts…”

She talked about her beautiful aspirations for the future, her voice soft yet resolute.

She never lacked the courage and belief to climb upwards. Now that the opportunity was in front of her, she was incredibly eager for success.

Tang Song took a deep breath, infected by her words.

“This moment won’t be too far off.”

If Gao Mengting was still just dreaming, he was genuinely looking forward to the arrival of that moment.

With a system at hand, a vast fortune awaiting inheritance, and meticulously trained elite talents,

the man’s three life goals (Business, Money, Women) would all be achieved, one by one.

…

Gao Mengting lived in the Bamboo Stream Community of West Bridge District, not far from Mingjun Auto Repair Factory.

She parked the car downstairs.

Gao Mengting asked, “Do you want to come up for dinner? I often cook myself, and my skills are pretty good.”

“Then I’ll take you up on your offer,” Tang Song readily agreed.

“Haha, I thought you would be more courteous.”

Tang Song turned off the car and unbuckled his seatbelt.

Turning his head and smiling, he said, “There’s a sentence in a book I’m reading, ‘You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view…until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.’ I want to understand my partner better, so I’m looking to step into her shoes.”

Gao Mengting smiled and said, “Meckom Town has been around for quite some years. In my earliest memories, it was a tired old town. I really liked Harper Lee’s ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ during my university days, and I’ve read it three times.”

“I like that book a lot as well. How about we discuss our thoughts on it tonight?”

Under the dim light, Gao Mengting’s face suddenly turned a shade redder.

She gave a soft “hmm” and pushed open the car door to step out.

They took the elevator up to the 12th floor.

“Clap!” Tang Song clapped his hands to turn on the voice-activated light.

Gao Mengting fumbled with her keys from her tote bag, somewhat flustered, to unlock the door and switch on the living room lights.

The entryway shoe cabinet had quite a collection of shoes of various styles and colors.

There were also two pairs of slippers, but both were for ladies and in small sizes.

“No need to change shoes, just come on in,” said Gao Mengting, looking somewhat uncomfortable.

“Alright,” Tang Song said with a smile and walked in.

The apartment was a two-bedroom with a not-too-small living room.

The decor was very simple: large white walls, white floor tiles, and mostly IKEA-style furniture.

By the south-facing balcony corner, there was a uniquely shaped solid wood bookshelf brimming with books.

Gao Mengting hung her bag on the coat rack and turned back to ask, “What would you like to drink? Hot water, Coke, mango juice, sparkling water?”

“Coke will do.”

Gao Mengting took a 300ml red can of Coke out of the fridge and handed it over.

“There’s not much food at home, so unfortunately, you can’t order today. I’ll make do with what we have,” she said.

“Can I help with anything?” Tang Song took the Coke, opened it, and took a sip.

“No, I can manage by myself. You can rest on the couch for a bit. Oh, and I’ve got some pork and radish buns my mom sent over, they’re slightly spicy, want to try one?”

“I really like pork and radish buns; I guess I’m in for a treat today.”

“Okay, then I won’t steam rice. I’ll just stir-fry a couple of vegetable dishes to go with the meat buns. It’ll be ready in no time!” she declared, tying on an apron and starting to bustle around in the kitchen.

Tang Song walked over to the bookshelf and pulled out a few books to skim through, all of them showing clear signs of being read.

It was obvious that Gao Mengting truly loved reading and had maintained the habit for a long time.

He also discovered ‘The Weakness of Human Nature’, the book he intended to read next.

Sitting on the grey fabric sofa, Tang Song cradled the book and began to read.

…

“Buzz buzz buzz—” The range hood started up.

“Sizzle—” Vegetables wet from washing met the hot oil.

“Scratch scratch scratch—click click click—” The spatula scraped and clanked against the iron wok.

The faint scent of cooking vegetables slowly began to waft through the air.

Tang Song’s nose twitched as he caught the aroma of ‘tomatoes fried with eggs’.

Looking through the kitchen door, he could see the undulating silhouette of his business partner and friend, along with her legs wrapped in stockings.

The red apron cinched her slender waist tightly, creating a beautiful curve with her pert buttocks

Tang Song gently closed the book and calmly enjoyed the scene.
