Chaotic Sword God

“Xing Caijian? The Heavenly Star Palace?” the voice in the medicinal garden murmured. After a moment of silence, he continued, “I know you. You’re the daughter of the master of the Heavenly Star Palace, the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor, and Venerable Cajian of the Immortal Sect of Sacred Fire. However, I am extremely perplexed about how our Daoist Sect of Heaven’s Inheritance has offended you to the point where you are destroying our Daoist Sect of Heaven’s Inheritance’s medicinal garden.”

“The medicinal garden in the Skyscraping World took our Daoist Sect of Heaven’s Inheritance substantial effort to set up.”

“You are mistaken, senior. I am not doing this to go after any particular organisation. Instead, I am doing it under the request of senior Skyscraping Sword Venerable’s lingering will. He wants me to destroy all the medicinal gardens in the Skyscraping World. If you still have doubts, you are welcome to closely sense the spiritual Qi in the Skyscraping World,” said Xing Caijian.

“The Skyscraping Sword Venerable’s lingering will?” The voice from the medicinal garden immediately became serious. It seemed like the Skyscraping Sword Venerable’s name bore some kind of power. Despite having passed away many years ago, his influence still remained. Just hearing his name was enough to leave the Immortal Exalt ancestor of the Daoist Sect of Heaven’s Inheritance wary.

“Sigh, why has the spiritual Qi in the Skyscraping World suddenly become so thin?” Shortly afterwards, the ancestor of the Daoist Sect of Heaven’s Inheritance noticed the abnormality of the spiritual Qi in the Skyscraping World and understood everything.

“The spiritual Qi of the Skyscraping World has reduced by so much. At this rate, it probably won’t be long before the Skyscraping World collapses from running out of spiritual Qi. It won’t be able to survive until the emergence of the last few seeds of ways,” the ancestor of the Daoist Sect of Heaven’s Inheritance contemplated before saying, “We can give up on our medicinal garden in the Skyscraping World, but we can’t afford to lose the heavenly resources planted here. We’ll have to wait for the next opening of the Skyscraping World before we can send in disciples.”

“It’ll be several hundred thousand years in the future before the Skyscraping World opens again. This medicinal garden will severely drain the spiritual Qi of the Skyscraping World, so we can’t wait until the next time,” said Xing Caijian.

When he heard that, the ancestor of the Daoist Sect of Heaven’s Inheritance’s voice gradually deepened. “Don’t tell me your Heavenly Star Palace plans on using this opportunity to claim the resources we’ve nurtured all this time for yourself?”

“Our Heavenly Star Palace is a court of heaven after all. Do you really think the likes of us would be interested in these mere heavenly resources?” Xing Caijian sneered. She immediately communicated with the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star mentally. A wisp of supreme sword Qi radiated out with tremendous pressure.

“T-this is…” The soul clone of the ancestor from the Daoist Sect of Heaven’s Inheritance was surprised. He seemed to recognise the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star and immediately said nothing more.

In the next moment, his soul clone departed, clearly having given up on the medicinal garden already.

“The three of you, I want you to harvest all of the heavenly resources here. Do it quickly. We’re in a rush for time,” Xing Caijian said to the three people from the Cloud sect behind her.

At this moment, the great elder and the two elders from the Cloud sect were still dumbstruck. They were overwhelmed by what had just happened. They seemed dazed, like their souls had left their bodies.

They made their way into the medicinal garden numbly and began picking the heavenly resources mechanically.

Just like that, Xing Caijian travelled through the Skyscraping World with the three elders from the Cloud sect, harvesting the medicinal gardens one by one. Due to the assistance from the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star, Xing Caijian swept through the medicinal gardens much faster than Jian Chen.

Along the way, she encountered a few more soul clones of Immortal Exalts that watched over the medicinal gardens. Most of them had reached late Immortal Exalt, or they came from peak organisations that possessed experts of such strength. However, without any exception, they all backed down and refused to object to Xing Caijian after recognising her identity, regardless of how impressive their backgrounds were.

To them, the medicinal gardens in the Skyscraping World were important, but no one wanted to provoke a court of heaven over a few heavenly resources.

Xing Caijian moved quickly and smoothly, while Jian Chen was much slower.

He made the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt use the Energy-devouring Furnace after all. The Energy-devouring Furnace would take several days to drain the energy of a formation. Cultivators would also pass by from time to time.

As a result, whenever cultivators passed by, Jian Chen was forced to make the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt hide inside the Primeval Divine Hall to hide his existence. Only after the cultivators were long gone could he let the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt out again.

Just like that, it obviously delayed everything.

In the blink of an eye, several months had already passed. During this time, Jian Chen had successfully emptied out ten medicinal gardens, harvesting a huge supply of high quality heavenly resources.

Because many passing cultivators spotted how he was plundering the medicinal gardens, rumours spread through the Skyscraping World.

“The Immortal Sect of Scarlet Sun and the Golden Sun sect’s medicinal gardens have been destroyed. The heavenly resources have all vanished. Don’t tell me Yang Yutian was behind all this…”

“When I came here, I discovered the Nine Dragons Pavillion’s medicinal garden to be in ruins as well. All of the heavenly resources were gone…”

“It’s just not them. Even the medicinal garden of the Daoist Sect of Heaven’s Inheritance has been plundered. Don’t tell me that’s also due to Yang Yutian…”

......

…

As the rumours spread through the Skyscraping World, everyone felt shocked. Even the Immortal Exalt ancestors were unable to remain unfazed.

That was because among the organisations who had their medicinal gardens destroyed, some of them were far more than simply powerful. They even left them wary, yet Yang Yutian pillaged them all.

His reckless plundering made many of the experts gasp in shock.

“What exactly is Yang Yutian’s background? How is he bold enough to provoke so many peak organisations?”

“From the daughter of the heavenly emperor’s attitude towards him, don’t tell me Yang Yutian is also from a court of heaven?”

For a while, guesses over Yang Yutian’s identity could be heard throughout the Skyscraping World.

Some people were wary, afraid to provoke him without good reason, while others fostered their greed, coveting the heavenly resources.

After all, the resources from plundering the medicinal gardens of so many peak organisations was enough for several Immortal Exalts to shed blood.

Jian Chen and the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt currently faced a huge medicinal garden, draining it with the Energy-devouring Furnace.

But at this moment, Jian Chen’s expression changed slightly. He immediately called out, “Oh no, an Immortal Exalt is approaching here rapidly. Enter the Primeval Divine Hall!”

As soon as he said that, the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt vanished, hiding away in the Primeval Divine Hall, while the Energy-devouring Furnace he controlled obviously ended up in Jian Chen’s hands.

Jian Chen acted like nothing had happened. He continued to control the Energy-devouring Furnace to drain the formation’s energy.

Around ten seconds later, a figure arrived from afar, striding over at a steady pace. With each step, he covered several hundred kilometres.

He was an old man in white robes. His face was covered in wrinkles, which made him seem very old. He gave off the pressure of a Second Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt.

When he saw Jian Chen, the old man’s eyes lit up. He was unable to hide his excitement.

“Yang Yutian, I’ve finally found you. Hahahaha, I just knew you’d be near a medicinal garden. My efforts have paid off in the end. I searched the medicinal gardens one by one and finally came across you.” The old man in white robes stood near Jian Chen and laughed excitedly. His gaze oozed with greed as if he was staring at a mound of treasure.

Jian Chen acted like he had only just discovered the old man in white robes. He stopped powering the Energy-devouring Furnace and looked back at him with a frown.

The old man in white robes rubbed his hands and chuckled. “People call me the Hundred Nights Ancestor. Yang Yutian, I have no clan or sect, so I’m not tied down by anything. I’ve spent my life wandering the Immortals’ World, so regardless of your background, none of it is important. I’m not doing this as a means to specifically target you. I’m just after some riches. Hand over your heavenly resources. I’ll leave as soon as I get them. I won’t make it any more difficult than that for you.”
