Chaotic Sword God

With the departure of these Immortal Exalts, the people in the cave rapidly plummeted in number until only a few remained in the end.

The city lord of the Immortal Rising City, Immortal Exalt Tan Yu, and Zuo Dao from the Divine Valley of the Nine Heavens were among them.

“Fellow Zuo Dao, your Divine Valley of the Nine Heavens dwells on the same heaven with the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance. Now that the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing for the elder princess has been stolen, aren’t you going to help them search so that you can do the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance a favour?” At this moment, one of the Immortal Exalts there smiled amicably and clasped his fist towards Zuo Dao.

When he heard that, Zuo Dao sneered slightly and said, “Offering up the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing to suck up to the elder princess of the Heavenly Palace of Great Brilliance is just the Heavenloss Master’s one-sided, wishful thinking. With the elder princess’s terrifying strength that has already reached the apex, what treasure can’t she obtain? Why would she care about a Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing that’s useless to her?”

Zuo Dao continued, “If the Heavenloss Master want to use this Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing to gain the good graces of everyone else from the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance, it would be more than enough, but it doesn’t even come close if it’s the elder princess.”

“Fellow Zuo Dao’s analysis is very logical. In my opinion, the Heavenloss Master is just trying to connect the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing to the elder princess of the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance somehow. He wants us to develop second thoughts and not compete with him. Once he actually obtains the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing, we can’t even be sure that he’ll actually give it away. We don’t even know if he can meet with the elder princess at all,” another Immortal Exalt added as soon as Zuo Dao had finished speaking.

“Although the Heavenloss Master’s descendant tied the knot with the fifth princess of the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance, the fifth princess is the fifth princess, while the elder princess is the elder princess. In the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance, is there anyone else apart from the elder princess Fang Jing who actually raises your attention?”

“You’re exactly right. It’s entirely because the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance produced the elder princess that they now possess such a lofty status…”

“According to my understanding of the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance, the fifth princess has no influence over the elder princess at all. The Heavenloss Master will probably struggle to gain the good graces of the elder princess with the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing,” an Immortal Exalt said.

Before, they refused to compete for the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing purely as a show of respect towards the Sword Sect of Yang Soul. The fifth princess’s status was nowhere near enough for them to go running after the Sword Sect of Yang Soul.

Afterwards, the Immortal Exalts that remained near the sword pool all dispersed. They went off to find their own opportunities and fortunes.

As for the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing, they all gave up on competing for it. Even if it had not ended up in the hands of the Sword Sect of Yang Soul, they had still dismissed all thoughts of obtaining it.

That was because they could already tell that the Immortal Emperor bold enough to steal the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing right in front of them might not have been powerful, but he definitely was no ordinary person.

They obviously would not go and provoke a new enemy for no good reason for a Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing that did not truly belong to them even if they obtained it.

“City lord Tan Yu, the Immortal Emperor who came with you is anything but simple. He actually managed to slip away right under the watch of a Fourth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt. Let alone an Immortal Emperor, even some weaker Immortal Exalts will struggle to achieve that.” Standing outside the cave, Zuo Dao from the Divine Valley of the Nine Heavens suddenly looked at Immortal Exalt Tan Yu after all the Immortal Exalts had left.

“Yang Yutian truly is anything but simple. When I was swallowed by the Starflame Demon Lion, it was all because of Yang Yutian that the Illusionary Ancestor from the Waymight clan saved me from its belly.” Immortal Exalt Tan Yu sighed gently. When he recalled this, he still found it surreal.

Zuo Dao’s eyes narrowed. He stared straight at Immortal Exalt Tan Yu and cried out, “What did you say? The Illusionary Ancestor saved you back then because of Yang Yutian?”

“Yeah, if fellow Yang Yutian had not changed the Illusionary Ancestor’s mind back then, why would the Illusionary Ancestor care about my fate given the circumstances?” Immortal Exalt Tan Yu said before leaving without any hesitation. He followed the imprint he had initially left behind and returned to the stone tablet to continue his comprehension.

Meanwhile, Zuo Dao remained where he was, recalling what Immortal Exalt Tan Yu had said again and again.

“The Illusionary Ancestor holds him in special regard. Even the daughter of the heavenly emperor from the Heavenly Star Palace, Xing Caijian, treats him extremely differently. What exactly is Yang Yutian’s background?” Zuo Dao felt more and more curious, but at the same time, he felt a little puzzled. He murmured, “If he really does have an impressive background, why doesn’t he announce it directly and avoid all of these problems?”

......

…

During this time, the Skyscraping World lost its peace. Over a dozen Immortal Exalts spread out, basically using their powers to attack the space in every place they passed by, leading to extremely great instability in the space in an attempt to force out any people hiding there.

As these Immortal Exalts struck out recklessly, the Immortal Emperors and Immortal Monarchs who encountered them suffered quite a bit. Even when these Immortal Exalts intentionally held back, reluctant to injure those unrelated, it was still unavoidable for some innocent Immortal Emperors and Immortal Monarchs to be affected to some degree.

“Dammit, have these Immortal Exalts gone bad? How can they treat us like this? Once I leave the Skyscraping World, I’ll definitely report this to the ancestor and get an explanation for this.”

“Hush, be quiet. Don’t let these Immortal Exalt seniors hear you. I just received news from my ancestor that an Immortal Emperor stole a Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing. This Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing is a gift for the elder princess of the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance. They can’t afford to lose it, which is why these Immortal Exalts are pursuing the person who stole the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing.”

“What? This is actually connected to an organisation like the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance? Looks like we have to put up with this then…”

Many Immortal Emperors complained. Some of them came from organisations that were extremely powerful. Despite only being Immortal Emperors, they were not particularly fearful of regular Immortal Exalts.

The disturbance in the Skyscraping World lasted for only three days before gradually subsiding. After those three days, the Immortal Exalts searching for Jian Chen all returned to the sword pool. Many of them were powerless.

Only the faces of the Profound Spirit Master from the Heavenly Palace of Scaling Heights and the Heavenloss Master from the Sword Sect of Yang Soul were extremely sunken.

“His concealment is flawless. Once he’s hidden himself, he can’t be detected through any secret techniques or the senses of the soul at all. Coupled with the unique environment of the Skyscraping World that limits us, he’s managed to escape successfully.” The Profound Spirit Master ground his teeth. The chance this time was a heaven-sent opportunity, yet he still failed to capture him, which filled him with regret and resentment.

“The formations of the Skyscraping World limits our abilities. The senses of our souls can only cover a range of a hundred kilometres. No one can be sure about the situation beyond that. Otherwise, how could a mere Immortal Emperor slip away under our watch?”

“I’ve already spread the news. This person has stolen a gift for the elder princess of the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance. He will definitely become a target for everyone. He can still hide around in the Skyscraping World, but once he leaves here, I’d like to see where he can run off to.”

The Immortal Exalts present all spoke up. To them, this was a fantastic opportunity to form a positive connection with the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance, so none of them wanted to give up on this.

Taking a step back, even if they could only establish a good relationship with the Sword Sect of Yang Soul, it would be worth the effort.

“Fellow Heavenloss, please don’t worry. We will return the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing to your possession sooner or later.”

“Once we leave the Skyscraping World, we will use everything we have to investigate this Immortal Emperor.”
