Chaotic Sword God

Despite being a Second Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt, the old woman’s presence was so terrifying that she was no weaker than a Third Heavenly Layer expert, even surpassing them.

In the next moment, the old woman appeared several hundred kilometres away like she had teleported over. She formed a sword with her fingers as a powerful strand of sword Qi condensed. It shone with dazzling light and struck the space a hundred kilometres away like a bolt of lightning.

Boom! The old woman’s sword Qi violently shook space, forcing out Jian Chen once again. His body surged violently as his organs were directly heavily injured.

“This person is far stronger than the Seven Antelope Ancestor. Although she’s a Second Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt, she’s no weaker than a Third Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt,” Jian Chen was secretly surprised. He looked back and glanced deeply at the old woman before looking at the thick blood that stuck to the Divine Armour of Heavenflight. He was surprised.

His Divine Armour of Heavenflight would only fail before an extremely small number of experts. Even most Ninth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts could not see through it, but at this moment, a Second Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt actually managed to lock onto him precisely.

But very soon, Jian Chen hid himself with the Divine Armour of Heavenflight again, refusing to give up. He quickly tried to flee again.

But in the next moment, the old woman caught up with even greater speed. She seemed to be able to accurately sense Jian Chen’s location. When she struck again, her sword Qi shot through the air like a streak of light, forcing Jian Chen out of hiding again.

If it were not for the powerful regeneration from the Source of Life, these two attacks from the old woman were enough to jolt any Immortal Emperor to death.

Her battle prowess was extremely powerful, already beyond what a regular Second Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt could rival.

“Source of Life, purify the power on me.” Jian Chen secretly communicated with the Source of Life. He discovered that his Chaotic Force was completely powerless over this blood-red power.

“This is the divine power of the Ghost Immortal. It contains a wisp of a Grand Exalt’s presence. Although it’s just a wisp, the Source of Life will probably need some time to completely purify this power.” Before the Source of Life could reply, the sword spirits answered instead.

“What? A Grand Exalt’s presence?” Jian Chen was startled. He was very shocked.

“Master, the Ghost Immortal cult had also been a peak organsiation that once stood at the apex of the Immortals’ World. They had a Grand Exalt who had become an embodiment of the heavenly ways. When they stood in renown, our Sword Sect of Violet Heavens had yet to be founded. Our old master had not been born yet either, and the Nirvanic Immortal Exalt had not emerged yet…”

“However, eras came and went with time. The Ghost Immortal cult has long declined already.”

The sword spirits sighed.

When he heard that, Jian Chen subsconsciously recalled the Spirit God clan in the Saints’ World. The Spirit God clan had also produced a Grand Exalt in the past, but they had also declined now, even losing the title of archaean clan.

The Ghost Immortal cult of the Immortals’ World was like the Spirit God clan of the Saints’ World. Despite their extremely glorious past, once rulers of the heavens, a sovereign clan that ruled over a major world, they had already declined. It was all in the past now.

The Sword Sect of Violet Heavens was no different.

“This person probably had some kind of special fortuitous encounter, or they received an impressive fortune. You have to be careful, master.” The sword spirits warned Jian Chen seriously.

“I’ll need three days to purge this disgusting thing.” The Source of Life’s voice rang out in Jian Chen’s head. There were hints of seriousness in her voice for once. “This presence is very powerful. Its past owner must have been very, very powerful.”

The Source of Life’s evaluation made Jian Chen’s heart tremble. He knew that the Grand Exalt of the Wood Spirits was an existence who had comprehended two ways to the limit in the past. She had also achieved the glorious feat of slaying the Grand Exalt of the Darkstar race, so her strength was without dispute.

But despite that, the Source of Life still gave the Grand Exalt from the Ghost Immortal cult such a high evaluation, which made him realise that even at worst, the Grand Exalt from the Ghost Immortal cult was on par with the Grand Exalt of the Wood Spirits.

The conversation with the sword spirits and the Source of Life all occurred in a split second. At this moment, Jian Chen was still flying into the distance with the old woman from the Ghost Immortal cult pursuing him closely.

Due to the reduction of spiritual Qi in the Skyscraping World, visibility had improved significantly. As a result, the two of them moved extremely quickly, covering several thousand kilometres in just a few flashes.

During this time, Jian Chen activated the Divine Armour of Heavenflight numerous times. However, the contamination from the divine power of the Ghost Immortal was like a marker on him, allowing the old woman to locate his hiding spot accurately each time. Jian Chen was left with nowhere to hide.

If it were not for the Source of Life, even First Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts, or even Second Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts, would struggle to withstand the old woman’s numerous attacks, let alone an Immortal Emperor.

The two of them fled and pursued for several tens of thousand kilometres. Jian Chen seemed to realise that the concealment from the Divine Armour of Heavenflight had basically become useless before the divine power of the Ghost Immortal that bore a hint of a Grand Exalt’s presence, so he stopped fleeing. He stopped where he was.

In the next moment, a terrifying presence approached him, arriving in an instant. The old woman surged with energy, glowing with the power of the Way of the Sword. There were hints of blood-red light as well. She appeared before Jian Chen with a sunken face.

“You’ve withstood multiple heavy strikes from me, yet you’re actually unscathed. Yang Yutian, you’re leaving me more and more shocked. However, if I develop a grudge against someone like you, the only way to settle this is to nip you in the bud before you completely mature,” the old woman said seriously. For once, there was a hint of seriousness when she looked at Jian Chen.

However, there were also hints of greed and desire that she hid away deeply.

“The treasures that this child possesses are extraordinary. Whether it’s his recovery rate or his flawless hiding ability, it’s all due to the treasures he carries on him. If I obtain these treasures, that would mean I would also possess these extraordinary powers!” the old woman thought to herself. Her will had already begun to sway as if she struggled to resist this huge temptation.

But shortly afterwards, she gritted her teeth and cast aside her qualms from the daughter of the heavenly emperor. Xing Caijian. Her squinted eyes shone with sharp killing intent. Dense, blood-red mist radiated from the old woman before condensing into a huge, blood-red hand that reached towards Jian Chen.

When the blood-red hand struck out, a destructive presence erupted, shaking up the surroundings. All of the vegetation within a thousand kilometres was immediately reduced to powder. Even the dense spiritual Qi in this region dissipated as if it had been crushed by this overbearing power.

And that was the effect under the numerous formations in the Skyscraping World. If the formations were not there, just the terrifying presence alone could annihilate the space here.

That was because the power had already surpassed the limits of early Immortal Exalts. Let alone early Immortal Exalts, even Sixth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts would be fazed by the huge, blood-red hand.

At this moment, the old woman from the Ghost Immortal cult no longer used her own strength but the tremendous power lurking within her.

However, she also paid a heavy price to use this power. All of her vitality seemed to be drained. She immediately began to wither as her presence declined.

Jian Chen was extremely stern, but he was not afraid. In the next moment, a ball of blinding light rose up around him. Several tens of thousand disciples of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens appeared around him, together with over thirty Immortal Monarchs, nine Immortal Emperors, and the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt, establishing a killing formation.

It was the Divine Formation of the Heavens!

As the Divine Formation of the Heavens was established, a terrifying pressure no weaker than the giant, blood-red hand filled the surroundings. Then it turned into a huge beam of energy and collided fiercely with the blood-red hand with enough light to drown out the world.
