Celestial Beast Taming

Chapter 232: Chapter 149: An Accident in Evolution

For Resurrection Celestial Lord, a Healing Element Order Beast, to gain an offensive Exclusive Trait seemed somewhat incongruous.

But thanks to his Beastmaster Talent, Extreme Reversal, Zhong Yi could convert the injuries stored within Withered Oasis into Healing Energy and inject it into a target.

This gave Zhong Yi the potential to heal other targets beyond his current limits.

In a way, the Exclusive Trait Withered Oasis essentially raised Resurrection Celestial Lord’s ceiling.

It provided Zhong Yi with an ability that could serve as a trump card, one that was equally potent for both healing and offense.

Resurrection Celestial Lord had successfully advanced to Bronze Quality, but its improvement didn’t stop there.

Zhong Yi then took out a Vitality Spring and tossed it to Resurrection Celestial Lord. This spring would instantly gush with a large amount of Vitality Spring Water the moment it was activated by Energy.

He let Resurrection Celestial Lord absorb the Vitality Spring while simultaneously consuming the Flowing Soul Soil.

Choosing Oasis Mandala as a material for Resurrection Celestial Lord had been a bold experiment for Zhong Yi.

Having Resurrection Celestial Lord absorb the Vitality Spring, however, was perfectly compatible with its existing Rule Authority, making the process effortless.

However, Zhong Yi discovered that after Resurrection Celestial Lord finished absorbing the Vitality Spring, its Quality didn’t advance to the Silver Tier as he had hoped.

Instead, it was stuck right on the verge of promotion.

Back then, when Wen Tao had given him the materials, he had happened to throw in an extra Vitality Spring.

After careful consideration, Zhong Yi decided to give the other Vitality Spring to Resurrection Celestial Lord as well.

There were still over 200 milliliters of Flowing Soul Soil remaining. This, combined with the new Vitality Spring, gave Resurrection Celestial Lord a high chance of advancing even further, transcending the limits of Guardian Beast Evolution to reach Silver Quality while still at the Mortal Beast Tier.

Raising a Guardian Beast’s Quality as early as possible was extremely beneficial for its future development and growth.

’Even if Resurrection Celestial Lord absorbs this Flowing Soul Soil and the new Vitality Spring and its Quality still doesn’t improve, it would only mean the loss of a single Vitality Spring! There’s no harm to Resurrection Celestial Lord, anyway.’

Fortunately, Zhong Yi’s efforts were not in vain. A sacred aura suddenly surged from Resurrection Celestial Lord’s body.

Immediately after, Resurrection Celestial Lord raised its head slightly and began to chant.

Hearing Resurrection Celestial Lord’s chant, Zhong Yi felt his mind clear, and his soul began to tremble gently in response.

The pleasant sensation from his soul’s trembling was so intense that Zhong Yi almost let out a soft hum.

Judging by Resurrection Celestial Lord’s current transformation, Zhong Yi was certain it had successfully advanced to Silver Quality as he’d hoped.

Furthermore, the new Exclusive Trait it had gained was most likely related to the soul.

Zhong Yi used All Things Exploration to inspect the newly Silver Quality Resurrection Celestial Lord.

[Guardian Beast Name]: Resurrection Celestial Lord

[Guardian Beast Species]: Celestial Human Species / Celestial Lord Species

[Guardian Beast Level]: Mortal Beast Level (10/10)

[Guardian Beast Type]: Rule Element

[Guardian Beast Quality]: Silver Quality

Skills:

[Recovery Enlightenment]: Guides a target through an enlightenment, causing the target to consume its own Energy to recover from its injuries. Simultaneously has a certain purifying effect on negative statuses like curses and toxins that inhibit recovery.

Exclusive Traits:

[Withered Oasis]: When healing other targets via Rule Authority, stores the injuries inflicted on the target within the oasis that surrounds its body. When necessary, these stored injuries can be projected onto other targets using the Core of Resurgence as a medium.

[Celestial Praise]: When the Core of Resurgence is placed upon a target’s soul, chants a hymn to cleanse the soul, expelling all impurities that do not belong to it.

Rule Authority:

[Eternal Life Reformation]: Fuses the Core of Resurgence into a target’s body, activating the target’s Life Template and causing it to reform any imperfections or damage according to that template.

A quick inspection revealed that the Exclusive Trait Resurrection Celestial Lord had obtained by advancing to Silver Quality was called Celestial Praise.

With Celestial Praise, Resurrection Celestial Lord could place the Core of Resurgence—condensed from its Rule Authority—on a target’s soul.

Then, through the chant he had just heard, it could cleanse the target’s soul, expelling any impurities that didn’t belong.

At first glance, this Exclusive Trait of Resurrection Celestial Lord might have seemed a bit useless.

But upon closer inspection, it was undoubtedly an Exclusive Trait with incredibly powerful utility.

Abilities that could purify the soul were already exceedingly rare.

Typically, soul purification abilities targeted curses or soul-poisons that were difficult to dispel.

Yet with its Exclusive Trait, Celestial Praise, Resurrection Celestial Lord could not only remove curses and soul-poisons, but could also eliminate parasites living within the soul.

For example, Zhong Yi used the Soul Contracting Gu Mother to control other Guardian Beast Masters. With its Exclusive Trait, Celestial Praise, Resurrection Celestial Lord could expel the Soul Contracting Gu Mother’s Insect Eggs from a target’s soul.

In the face of Resurrection Celestial Lord, control methods that relied on soul parasitism were rendered completely useless.

In the Guardian Beast World, soul injuries had always been far more difficult to heal than physical ones.

This was the first time Zhong Yi had ever heard of an ability that could expel parasitic creatures from a soul.

If any Guardian Beast had possessed such an ability in the past, the major factions and powerful experts would never have used such methods to control their servants.

Zhong Yi would soon be heading to Longya City to meet Tao En, a Five-finger Peak Creator whose soul had been injured.

This new Exclusive Trait that Resurrection Celestial Lord had acquired gave Zhong Yi a much greater chance of healing Tao En’s soul.
