Celestial Beast Taming

Chapter 231: Chapter 1148: The Resurrection Celestial Lord’s Quality Upgrade

But in a Secret Realm like this, the Liaoyuan Cluster Fire and Bitter Anger Beast would have a hard time improving much.

Zhong Yi noticed the gloom on Sun Ya and He Guoguo’s faces. Young girls could never hide their worries.

Zhong Yi reassured them.

”Being able to have a suppressive effect in Secret Realms with large groups of enemies is already an extremely rare Talent.”

”Besides, your Deceit Beasts haven’t had their Tier or Quality upgraded yet. After you raise their Tier and Quality and they gain new Skills and Exclusive Traits, it’s not like they won’t have a chance to improve their single-target combat abilities.”

Zhong Yi chose not to personally strengthen Sun Ya’s and He Guoguo’s Deceit Beasts.

With two Four-finger Creators like Zhao Kai and Wu Qing around, nurturing their Deceit Beasts wouldn’t be a problem at all.

When it came to cultivating Low Tier Guardian Beasts, there was a difference between Potions concocted by Creators and the effects of Flowing Soul Soil.

Although a gap existed, it wasn’t particularly large.

For a Mythical Tier Peak Deceit Beast like Qin Ruyue’s, Flowing Soul Soil was much more effective.

It could induce a positive Bloodline transformation in a fully grown Life form like the Night-Cutting Spider, building upon its existing foundation.

Right now, Zhong Yi didn’t even have enough of the Flowing Soul Soil secreted by the roots of the Soul-Controlling Flower for his own use.

He really couldn’t spare any to help Sun Ya and He Guoguo strengthen their Deceit Beasts.

Once their Deceit Beasts reached the Mythical Tier Peak, Zhong Yi would then provide them with Flowing Soul Soil to trigger their beasts’ Bloodline Evolution.

As for Shen Xuan, Zhong Yi wasn’t in a hurry to have him cultivate the Purple Diamond Statue.

Shen Xuan was a talent capable of participating in the Divine Origin Slaughter Secret Realm, and the Purple Diamond Statue was the absolute cornerstone of his combat system.

Zhong Yi planned to use Flowing Soul Soil to cultivate Shen Xuan’s Purple Diamond Statue.

This would allow the Purple Diamond Statue, when it was time to upgrade its Quality, to use the Diamond Ore Core and Purple Poison Tourmaline—materials only found in a Fourth Level Earth Secret Realm—as catalysts for its own Bloodline transformation.

For the next two or three days, Zhong Yi spent his time helping Ice Glaze and Lan Po improve their combat skills with his Soul Base, all while waiting for more Flowing Soul Soil to be secreted.

During this time, he even managed to condense two more Soul Taming Seeds.

Hong Ji brought Zhong Yi some good news: using her Rule Authority, Equivalent Replication, she had successfully sacrificed the materials within her body that needed to be replaced and had replicated a tooth from the Giant Horror Demon.

Although it took Hong Ji over two full days to replicate a single tooth from the Giant Horror Demon, this was a sign that she could use her Equivalent Replication Rule Authority to successfully replicate other materials as well.

It perfectly confirmed Zhong Yi’s suspicions!

As her Tier and Quality increased, Hong Ji’s ability to use the Equivalent Replication Rule Authority would continue to improve.

Zhong Yi no longer specified which materials Hong Ji should replicate, instead allowing her to freely copy whatever she needed for combat.

This would encourage Hong Ji to become more proficient in using her Rule Authority.

Looking at the seven or eight hundred milliliters of Flowing Soul Soil in the bottle, Zhong Yi felt it was time to use the Oasis Mandala and the Vitality Spring to upgrade the Resurrection Celestial Lord’s Quality.

As Zhong Yi’s Order Beast, the Resurrection Celestial Lord didn’t need to be bound by a Contract using a Soul Taming Seed.

Zhong Yi had prepared so much Flowing Soul Soil this time precisely because he wanted to see if it was enough to raise the Resurrection Celestial Lord’s Quality to Silver while it was still at the Mortal Beast Tier.

If Zhong Yi hadn’t had this goal in mind, he would have only needed to use one of the two materials—the Oasis Mandala or the Vitality Spring—not both.

In his room, Zhong Yi summoned the Resurrection Celestial Lord.

Usually, when no one else was around, the Resurrection Celestial Lord would change its form while by Zhong Yi’s side.

At this moment, the Resurrection Celestial Lord had taken the form of a seven- or eight-year-old boy. He spread his arms toward Zhong Yi, wanting to be held.

Every time Zhong Yi summoned the Resurrection Celestial Lord alone, he would ask for a hug.

It was his own Order Beast, so Zhong Yi could only dote on him like a baby.

After taking the Resurrection Celestial Lord into his arms, Zhong Yi spoke to him in a serious tone.

”In a moment, I’ll use the Flowing Soul Soil to help you absorb the Oasis Mandala.”

”The Oasis Mandala has very strange properties. You might suffer a bit while absorbing it.”

Hearing this, the Resurrection Celestial Lord, still in Zhong Yi’s arms, shook his little head nonchalantly.

”It won’t, Master. The Rule Authority I command is extremely accommodating.”

”The traits contained within the Oasis Mandala are also related to Life, so it won’t be too difficult for me to absorb.”

”Even if I have to suffer a bit, it’s worth it to become stronger.”

”Hee hee! But compared to the Oasis Mandala, I prefer the Vitality Spring. I can feel that the Energy in the Vitality Spring will be of great benefit to me.”

”After my Quality is upgraded, it will most likely allow me to find more ways to use my Rule Authority.”

Hearing the Resurrection Celestial Lord’s optimism, Zhong Yi didn’t say anything more.

Zhong Yi played with the Resurrection Celestial Lord for a while before taking out the Oasis Mandala, which possessed two extremely opposing aspects.

The Oasis Mandala that Wen Tao had found for him was perfectly intact, without even a single broken root.

The Resurrection Celestial Lord mobilized his Power of Rules, wrapping it around the Oasis Mandala.

This caused the Oasis Mandala’s Energy to travel along the Power of Rules and into the Resurrection Celestial Lord’s body.

As the Resurrection Celestial Lord began to absorb the Oasis Mandala, Zhong Yi had the Soul-Controlling Flower extend its filaments into the cloak shrouding the Resurrection Celestial Lord.

This made it convenient for the Resurrection Celestial Lord to freely consume the Flowing Soul Soil.

The Resurrection Celestial Lord didn’t seem to mind the Soul-Controlling Flower, placing the filaments on the lips that were behind its cloak.

The moment the Flowing Soul Soil entered his body, the Resurrection Celestial Lord could sense its benefits.

The Flowing Soul Soil was like a catalyst, allowing him to easily absorb the Energy within the Oasis Mandala.

Moreover, during the process, he could also perfectly absorb the traits contained within the Oasis Mandala.

The Resurrection Celestial Lord joyfully sucked on the filaments, drinking the Flowing Soul Soil.

The Soul-Controlling Flower, however, was a little reluctant to let the Resurrection Celestial Lord drink the Flowing Soul Soil it had secreted.

For one, the Resurrection Celestial Lord was drinking way too much Flowing Soul Soil.

For another, the Resurrection Celestial Lord was a professional at vying for affection, having thrown himself into Zhong Yi’s arms for cuddles the moment he was summoned.

As the Soul-Controlling Flower fed the Flowing Soul Soil to the Resurrection Celestial Lord, it felt a strange sense of being cheated on.

Just as the Resurrection Celestial Lord had said, he didn’t actually suffer much pain while absorbing the Oasis Mandala.

This was likely because, as an Order Beast, the Resurrection Celestial Lord had an extremely high Life Level, and this Quality upgrade didn’t trigger a Bloodline transformation.

Zhong Yi noticed a ball of emerald-green Energy forming and swirling around the Resurrection Celestial Lord’s body.

This Energy surrounded the Resurrection Celestial Lord’s entire body, almost like a domain.

This domain was probably related to a new Ability the Resurrection Celestial Lord had acquired.

After completely absorbing the Oasis Mandala and consuming around 330 milliliters of Flowing Soul Soil, the Resurrection Celestial Lord’s Quality successfully rose to Bronze, and it gained an Exclusive Trait called Withered Oasis.

Withered Oasis allowed the Resurrection Celestial Lord, when healing other targets with its Rule Authority, to store the injuries inflicted on the target within the oasis that swirled around its body.

Then, when needed, it could use the Core of Resurgence as a medium to transfer all the injuries stored in the oasis to any target that came into contact with the Core of Resurgence.

Zhong Yi had previously healed many Mythical Tier Guardian Beasts and Bizarre creatures, including the Order Beasts belonging to Wen Tao and Lin Zhuo.

Basically, every injury Zhong Yi treated was, at the very least, at the level of Origin damage.

Take the Blood-toothed Scorpion Zhong Yi helped Fu Hongning heal; at the time, the Blood-toothed Scorpion was basically in a near-death state.

Before healing those Guardian Beasts, the Resurrection Celestial Lord had not yet acquired the Withered Oasis Exclusive Trait.

But from now on, whenever Zhong Yi healed other Guardian Beasts through the Resurrection Celestial Lord, he could accumulate all that Origin damage and those near-death injuries within the oasis.

If one day he were to unleash it, pouring out all the accumulated damage from within the oasis... the resulting devastation would be truly hard to imagine!
