Celestial Beast Taming

Chapter 193: Chapter 129: Lan Yue, She Is Yours

Qin Ruyue had truly not anticipated Shi Mi’s schemes.

But Shi Mi had also greatly underestimated her.

”So, Shi Mi, you do have a brain after all. It’s just as foolish as ever.”

”Aren’t you afraid your plan will fail now that you’ve revealed your intentions before you’ve even killed me?”

As Qin Ruyue spoke, the Night-Cutting Spider’s abdomen pulsed.

Encased in a glob of viscous fluid, an ink-black Energy Core shot toward Qin Ruyue.

As it flew through the air, the fluid encasing the ink-black Energy Core transformed into layers upon layers of spiderwebs.

Cupping the Night-Cutting Spider’s Energy Core in both hands, Qin Ruyue retrieved a curved saber from her Soul Base and, without a change in expression, plunged it into her heart.

Scalding Heart’s Blood poured onto the Night-Cutting Spider’s Energy Core.

Qin Ruyue’s Heart’s Blood wasn’t a vibrant red, but a dark crimson so deep it was almost black.

The moment this ink-like Heart’s Blood was poured onto the Night-Cutting Spider’s Energy Core, the Deceit Beast’s injuries began to heal at a rate visible to the naked eye.

In an instant, its depleted energy reserves were restored to their peak.

However, the Power of Rules that the Night-Cutting Spider had exhausted was not restored along with its energy.

This time, instead of releasing its spiderlings, the Night-Cutting Spider cast a dense web toward Shi Mi, who was fused with the Centipede Bone Tomb Princess, preparing to finish him off for good.

Qin Ruyue rarely used her Deceit Beast Master talent, Blood Heart Recovery.

Everyone who had ever seen her use this talent was already dead.

Her Deceit Beast Master talent could turn the tide of battle. But each time she used Blood Heart Recovery, she was left utterly exhausted and on the brink of death, requiring a long time to recover.

Once restored to its peak condition, the Night-Cutting Spider was unstoppable, even without using the Power of Rules.

Forget the fact that the Centipede Bone Tomb Princess was at half energy; even at full power, it would be no match for the Night-Cutting Spider.

Qin Ruyue was that confident!

Qin Ruyue silently mulled over Shi Mi’s earlier words: whether or not she should dispose of Zhong Yi.

Qin Ruyue had never considered the nascent Celestial Destiny Seeker, Zhong Yi, a threat. ’What trouble could a Celestial Destiny Seeker who only recently awakened their Soul Base possibly cause?’

The problem was, this hostage knew too many of her secrets—including her unique Deceit Beast Master talent.

The thought of eliminating Zhong Yi took root in her mind, but she quickly dismissed it.

As long as Zhong Yi, the new-generation Celestial Destiny Seeker, remained alive, everything was manageable.

But if Zhong Yi died, judging by Starlight City’s willingness to tear up their contract with the Purifying Moon Sect and dispatch Celestial Destiny Seekers from above the Mythical Tier, they would most likely not let her off the hook.

Aside from the Power of Rules, the spiderwebs were the Night-Cutting Spider’s most potent combat tool.

The webs bound the fused form of Shi Mi and the Centipede Bone Tomb Princess. However, the Night-Cutting Spider was, in turn, tightly entangled by Shi Mi’s White Bone Centipede Tail and couldn’t break free for the moment.

Even though he was restrained by Qin Ruyue, and even with the tables turned against him, Shi Mi never considered himself her prey.

This was because Shi Mi also had his own Deceit Beast Master talent: Bone-Melting Centipede Species.

If worst came to worst, he would sacrifice his own flesh and blood, transform into a Centipede Spawn, and burrow into the body of the Centipede Bone Tomb Princess.

Then, he would have the Centipede Bone Tomb Princess use Special Bone Burning Replacement—an exclusive skill it gained upon ascending to the Mythical Tier—to transport itself to a specialized bone he had placed outside the city.

He would only need to wait a year or so to re-hatch. By then, this whole affair would have blown over, and no one would even remember him.

What Shi Mi hadn’t expected was that the Night-Cutting Spider’s webs carried a special kind of toxin.

This toxin could paralyze the soul. Once afflicted, neither Guardian Beast Masters nor Deceit Beast Masters could activate their Soul Power.

Under these circumstances, Shi Mi would be unable to use his Deceit Beast Master talent to escape.

The moment he found he couldn’t activate his Soul Base, Shi Mi was thrown into a desperate struggle, like a cornered beast.

’Even if I die, I’ll make sure Qin Ruyue doesn’t get off easy!’

Zhong Yi still hadn’t activated the Instant Jade, waiting for the perfect opportunity.

Zhong Yi didn’t want to expose the existence of the Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon. Because of this, even in front of trusted people like Lin Zhuo and Wen Tao, Zhong Yi couldn’t use the Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon to form a Contract with a Mythical Tier Bizarre being of Qin Ruyue’s caliber.

But now, in an environment undetectable from the outside, Zhong Yi had no such reservations.

Locked in a struggle with the Night-Cutting Spider, Shi Mi had truly descended into a frenzy and had no attention to spare for sensing external energy fluctuations.

However, Qin Ruyue, grievously wounded and on the verge of death, sensed a fluctuation of the Power of Rules from behind her.

It was obviously the Celestial Destiny Seeker she held hostage, summoning an Order Beast.

This Power of Rules was brimming with vitality.

Upon sensing this vital Power of Rules, a sudden realization dawned on Qin Ruyue.

Her heart involuntarily clenched, squeezing out more blood.

Qin Ruyue, who controlled three hundred Spider Slaves in Starlight City, knew a new Healing Element Celestial Destiny Seeker had recently emerged there.

’I can’t believe the Celestial Destiny Seeker I’m holding hostage is that very same new Healing-type Celestial Destiny Seeker.’

No wonder Starlight City had disregarded its contract with the Purifying Moon Sect and dispatched two Celestial Destiny Seekers from above the Mythical Tier to rescue their hostage.

It all made sense now!

Even then, Qin Ruyue still didn’t take Zhong Yi seriously.

’A Healing-type Celestial Destiny Seeker might be special, but what can they possibly do right now?’

’Are they going to foolishly try to heal me or Shi Mi?’

’Even if they did, a mere Mortal Beast Tier Order Beast couldn’t possibly heal the wounds of a Mythical Tier Bizarre being!’

’And if they’re trying to save themselves? Forget a Mortal Beast Tier Healing-type Celestial Destiny Seeker; even a Combat-type Celestial Destiny Seeker of the same tier couldn’t possibly break through the cage woven from the Night-Cutting Spider’s fine silk.’

But reality defied Qin Ruyue’s expectations.

Zhong Yi had the Resurrection Celestial Lord use its Rule Authority, Eternal Life Reformation, to release four Cores of Resurgence.

These four Cores of Resurgence landed on the web-like cage trapping Zhong Yi and on the three massive webs stretched out before them.

Then, for the first time, Zhong Yi activated their Beastmaster Talent: Extreme Reversal.

In an instant, the Cores of Resurgence, once filled with Healing Energy, were now surging with Destructive Energy.

Although the energy had been reversed, the effect of the Rule Authority remained unchanged.

The Cores of Destruction didn’t use their own internal Destructive Energy to annihilate the webs.

Instead, they activated the energy contained within the webs themselves, turning it against them to cause a catastrophic self-destruction.

In a flash, the webs spun by the Night-Cutting Spider were utterly obliterated.

Breaking through the four-layered cage, Zhong Yi emerged with a leisurely stroll.

They then activated their Soul Base and summoned the Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon.

Upon being summoned, the Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon perched obediently on Zhong Yi’s shoulder.

Its eyes lit up as it stared at the Energy Core in Qin Ruyue’s hands, then it looked up at Zhong Yi questioningly.

Zhong Yi could see the intense interest in the Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon’s hundreds of pupils.

Without any prompting from Zhong Yi, the Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon had already conceived the idea of using a Moon Eyes Flower to form a Contract with the Energy Core.

The Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon could judge with precision whether it was capable of forming a Contract with the Energy Core before it.

The fact that the Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon wanted to form a Contract with the Energy Core meant that the Moon Eyes Flower currently blooming upon it was sufficient to control this spider-shaped Bizarre, even one that wielded the Power of Rules.

”Lan Yue, she’s all yours!”

”I need you to take control of this Spider-shaped Deceit Beast’s Energy Core as fast as you can.”

”If you can control this Mythical Tier spider-shaped Bizarre, I’ll give you a treat tonight.”

Back when Zhong Yi first formed the Soul Taming Seed Contract with the Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon, they discovered it loved to drink Flowing Soul Soil.

The Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon’s craving for Flowing Soul Soil far surpassed that of any other Guardian Beast Zhong Yi had formed a Contract with using a Soul Taming Seed.

Flowing Soul Soil had numerous uses, so Zhong Yi couldn’t let the Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon drink it whenever it pleased.

However, giving it to the Hundred-Eyed Moon Demon as an occasional reward was perfectly fine.
