Beneath the Red Dragon

Chapter 859: Chapter 149: Summit_2

A massive Giant Dragon unfurled its enormous wings, seemingly covering half the sky, even casting shadows over a two-masted merchant ship.

Amidst the dazzling reflections and flowing, leaping arcs, a gray-blue Giant Dragon cast a downward gaze from high above the firmament.

Its neck was short and rugged, the gray-blue scales almost covering most of its body, and its physique was unusually robust among the Dragon Race.

This robustness wasn’t the aesthetic of an Ancestral Red Dragon such as Karon Gogomola but possessed a formidable sense of destructive power, akin to humans with prominently defined muscles.

The colossal long horns and the menacingly hard bone armor were especially intimidating, but beneath this frightful exterior lay terrifying power accumulated over countless years and unimaginable life force beneath the thick gray-blue scales.

It was an Ancient Blue Dragon; Brass Dragon Holister instantly detected this from the appearance and aura characteristic of the Dragon Race.

The appearance of an Ancient Dragon signifies a power in the Mortal World of Icaria that demands reverence from all beings; it is a creature almost at the pinnacle of the Icaria World.

As a Giant Dragon second only to the Red Dragon among the Five-Color Dragon, even an ordinary Blue Dragon, even if eternally dormant in its nest doing nothing—not studying, training, or engaging in extra development—can transform over time to possess a body and sheer physical strength that rivals Legendary Powerhouses.

If it can be said that those legendary Celestial Destiny strong persons continually seek power like a mechanistic force, then the Dragons’ innate attributes can naturally contend against these mechanistic monsters through growth.

Even the most exceptional Ancient Dragons would not fear the existence of most Divine Spirits in the Mortal World; even though they might not defeat them, the Divine Spirits cannot easily subdue these fearsome creatures.

Holister could not determine whether the Ancient Blue Dragon in the sky was among the strongest batch of Ancient Dragons, but he was sure it was not the weakest.

Because that Ancient Blue Dragon is the patriarch of the Blue Dragon Clan that resides in the Great Desert of the Central Continent, the leader of the Blue Dragon Clan.

Yet even this Ancient Blue Dragon that instills fear in many remains quietly suspended at the far edge of the firmament, refraining from venturing into another sensitive region.

It’s not that the Ancient Blue Dragon fears the Dragons flying in the sky; it’s cautious of the small figure on the distant island, on the cliff peak facing the sea, visible only to the Dragon Race, with its back turned as if fishing for a deep-sea giant whale on the steep face.

There are several figures there, but Brass Dragon Holister instantly locked onto that distinctly visible presence.

At the end of the sea is the sky as the shore; on the mountain top, I am the peak!

Above the vast sea, boundless waves stretch in all directions, where the distant junction of sky and sea is vast and distant, and the towering solitary peak with its quiet silhouette seems to mark the end of all beings’ gaze.

In the eyes of a Giant Dragon, the cliff doesn’t seem particularly high, as if Brass Dragon Holister could effortlessly fly above it with a light flap of its wings.

Yet Holister knows that this seemingly short distance is an insurmountable majestic peak.

There will be a supreme hall, only accessible to the true kings.

In the history of Icaria, countless extraordinary talents among various races have emerged like fish crossing the river during epochs, numerous celebrated heroes like fish swimming in the sea.

But before that name, talent is merely the threshold to see him, hero merely the qualification to meet him.

“Karon Gogomola!” Holister couldn’t suppress his murmuring. This name would be the last naturally born king among the Giant Dragons across innumerable epochs and endless ages of Icaria, and the first true Dragon Emperor.

Holister gazed at the countless Giant Dragons swirling in the distant air, and those Juvenile Dragons soaring everywhere, revealing a smile.

“Today, Icaria will welcome the true Dragon Emperor!”

“Perhaps from now on, no Giant Dragon will dare to claim kingship without reaching Karon Gogomola’s standards, and no Dragon will become a false king through strength alone without receiving the royal decree from the Dragon Emperor!”

The Giant Dragons dominating the earth, sky, and sea is a matter of legend, a tale from the distant First Era, from an ancient age when Dragons and Titans contended.

But the Golden Empire will herald a completely different era of Dragon supremacy, an unshakable hegemony.

Holister felt a surge of emotion, revealing his true Giant Dragon form amidst the panicked shouts of the rented ship’s captain, spreading his sky-high wings, flying towards the island dozens of miles away, with myriad gazes of envy, awe, and surprise watching him.

“You need not panic; I, Brass Dragon Holister, am acknowledged by the Dragon Emperor Karon Gogomola of the Golden Empire as a friend!”

At that moment, Holister abandoned his role as the representative viewing envoy of the Southern Good Dragon Alliance, not only because the friend of the Golden Empire was more advantageous here.

Also because this mature Brass Dragon is indeed a true Giant Dragon.

On this sea island, numerous mighty Warriors dutifully stood guard around the entire island, filling up the wasteland, beaches, and other elevated spots.

Spears and halberds spread like a forest over the island, occupying Holister’s entire view.
