Chapter 963: Chapter 945: The Art of ’Feasting

Gwendolin’s Illusion Technique can create a corridor that extends indefinitely.

Inside, every time the enemy tries to approach or harm him, their efforts are in vain.

Because with every step the enemy takes, the corridor extends further. They can never reach him.

But this was the power he possessed long ago, in distant times.

His power today is gradually declining, far from what it once was.

Thus, Elderidge merely entangled with him in the corridor for three or four hours before it collapsed on its own.

Gwendolin, escaping the illusion, not only lost the barrier protecting him but also lost the little power he had left.

Originally attentive to Divine Race dignity, considering himself an exemplar, the Shadow Sun now can’t help but gasp heavily with his thin lips parted.

Several snake legs were slipping in the black mire Elderidge brought, urging Gwendolin to stay as far away from this filthy and dangerous Lord of Cinder as possible.

And that grasping black mire was stretching freely in the bedchamber.

Like a hunter boasting its power, leisurely observing its prey’s struggle, confident of its victory.

He wasn’t anxious, although he longed for the Divine Race’s flesh and power, he could still uphold his ’dining philosophy.’

Elderidge delights in, even craves to propagate his ’dining philosophy’ to others.

——Feasting truly while bathing in cries, while feeling life’s tremors.

Unconsciously, Gwendolin had already retreated to the corner.

Yet he stubbornly clung to the weapon in his hand.

No sign of surrendering or giving up, he wouldn’t allow himself to show weakness that would satisfy the creature during its feast.

”Tsss!”

After escaping the illusion, three Silver Knights immediately followed the highest command they had received, from the Shadow Sun.

To start attacking Elderidge.

The Silver Knights fought silently, only letting golden lightning blossom with noise on their swords.

It’s undeniable that each Silver Knight, even if their spirit dulled to that of a golem or wandering soul, was still a Great Knight who triumphed in the Ancient Dragon War.

Excluding Lords of Cinder and Divine Race’s high-level powers, each could be considered a powerful Hero Knight.

Among the human heroes, each legendary one could solo annihilate over a hundred Knights.

Perhaps these heroes truly could achieve such feats, but when facing Silver Knights, they would likely be overwhelmed by more than two or three.

This is the Silver Knight Order guarding the Divine Race.

But... when facing a Lord of Cinder-level enemy, a limited number of Silver Knights are ineffectual.

The crackling golden lightning was originally the story King Gwyn showcased to the Silver Knights.

But when the sword blades encircled by golden lightning struck Elderidge’s tar-like body, it only spread web-like lightning patterns at the impact point, failing to disperse more broadly.

Able to inflict damage, yet similar to the situation back in the Profound Church when Elderidge crushed Rosalie’s followers.

Without causing sufficient damage, Elderidge’s body couldn’t be considered ’injured’!

The large fragments of bone floating inside the dirty Lord of Cinder body were shattered further by the Silver Knights, yet Elderidge’s movements were completely unhindered.

Instead, the tar-like body clung to the ancient and vivid silver armor of the Silver Knights as they approached.

A sound of acid corrosion emerged from the point of contact.

The silver knight armor, which remained bright through thousands of years and countless battles, was scarred with hideous black marks within moments of Elderidge’s body’s touch.

The Silver Knights wouldn’t scream, they wouldn’t even utter a shout or battle cry in the face of life and death opposition.

Thus, in Elderidge’s viscous body squeeze, the Silver Knights only produced a metallic screech as their armor twisted and deformed, followed by the sound of the flesh inside breaking, tearing, and shattering...

One Silver Knight was completely shredded into fragments, pulled into Elderidge’s heap of black muck, floating among shattered bones, being digested.

While another, not engulfed and seemingly not too dulled in awareness, timely severed a companion’s arm, pulling the crippled one back temporarily.

It wasn’t that they escaped, but Elderidge was savoring the food’s struggle.

”Blasphemer, heretic of the Divine!”

Gwendolin held his Magic Staff like a bow with an arrow at that moment.

Dark Moon Magic turned the Magic Staff into a bow’s body, and stretched the bowstring, placing a splendid Moonlight Arrow which Gwendolin fired into the sky.

His teeth clenched in anger, for the Silver Knights turned into food, dead without dignity or meaning.

The mourning for these ancient warriors plus the disgrace upon the Divine Race birthed such fury.

A Moonlight Arrow launched skyward, under Dark Moon Magic’s effect, replicated into numerous arrows.

Just like a rain of blades flashing cold silver light, piercing all the way down!

Yet this magic poorly aligned with Elderidge’s nature.

Would that tar-like body care about stabbing wounds with small trauma areas?

Utterly ineffective.

Like cold raindrops, the arrow rain only exploded into tiny spurts of mud on Elderidge, and then there was no more movement.

And Elderidge, already surging, flowed towards Gwendolin.

The figure of the Dark Moon God disappeared in a hazy purple halo, then reappeared in another location.

This magic of shifting positions seemed to make him even more exhausted and powerless.

Moreover, having already expended a lot of strength before, Gwendolin couldn’t even shift himself very far.

One of his snake feet suddenly touched a slippery patch, which was the edge of Elderidge’s sprawling body.

Elderidge seemed to have sensory organs all over, and the moment he touched Gwendolin’s snake foot, the originally thin black mud received focused support.

Like flesh-eating ants crawling onto a piece of rotten meat, climbing up.

Gwendolin’s face suddenly turned pale, his silver teeth clenched tightly as the tip of his magic staff extended a blade formed by the cohesion of Dark Moon Magic Power.

With a ”slash,” he cut off the entire snake foot himself.

Taking this opportunity, the Giant Blacksmith realized he was the closest support to the Dark Moon God.

He roared, even the air at his mouth transformed into a tangible airwave from his shout.

Just as Elderidge was about to surge black mud waves towards Gwendolin, he planted his massive foot in front of Gwendolin, blocking the Dark Moon God.

But his own leg was quickly enveloped by the clinging black mire, which continued to climb upwards.

With no alternative, Gwendolin could only extend the magic blade on his staff again and slash towards the giant’s knee!

”Ah!”

The giant did not cry out in agony, instead, it was Gwendolin who trembled, calling out.

Cutting off the leg of a subordinate who had just saved him... At this moment, both his body and spirit were on the brink of collapse.

Elderidge was increasingly pleased with the current situation.

He even retreated a little at this point.

The black mud once moving swiftly became unhurried.

’Yes, just like that, scream.’

The soul whispering from the black mud, just hearing it made one feel sticky and heavy, like the mind was coated with a layer of tar.

Elderidge’s tone was delighted and playful.

’Great Divine Race, the existence I once revered. Look at your stature now.’

’In this grand and glorious Divine Capital, to stand before me, the rebel, and defend you, are only three Silver Knights, and a slave?’

’The Divine Race has long declined, in worse shape than the bishop that reveres you!’

But amid the slow, leisurely movement of the black mud, he suddenly pierced a rapid tentacle, ensnaring the one-armed Silver Knight, pulling it into his body amidst the curling sound of metal.

The moment Gwendolin, the Broken-legged Giant, and the Silver Knight found a chance to adjust and rest due to his slow movement, they were forced to become tense again.

With erratic, nearly neurotic danger and aggressiveness, the ’food’ lost a sense of security, ultimately having their minds collapse.

This was Elderidge’s foolproof ’meal trick.’

Sure enough, Gwendolin in front of him, holding the magic staff, had hands trembling from too much force.

The crippled Silver Knight pulled into Elderidge’s body, in the last moment, still burst forth with golden lightning on the only hand holding a sword.

But in the end, the result remained unchanged, Elderidge wasn’t much harmed.

He instead spit out the Silver Knight’s sword, clattering across the marble floor to Gwendolin’s feet.

’The stories of the Divine Race, the sacred great thunder, the power of the King of the Sun defeating the Ancient Dragon... tsk tsk.’

The soul’s whisper, revealing a cruel malicious pleasure.

’But what use is this power to me, a Lord of Cinders who once sacrificed himself for the world and the First Flame?’

’The Fire Age is destined to be a cradle era about to pass, Dark Moon God.’

And after attacking the enemy’s greatest symbol of strength, Elderidge’s tone suddenly became gentle, even tolerant, compassionate!

’Tremble! Lament! Great Shadow Sun.’

’Let us together, complete this sacred meal!’

’Afterwards, we can together... transition to the next era... with my help.’

’I want to save you, save more people!’

’Just let me devour... just let me devour... I can take you to witness the distant future!’

Elderidge whispered, while his tar-like body slowly approached.

Drawing closer and closer...

”Buzz!”

But suddenly, dozens of dark purple shooting stars flew from the tip of Gwendolin’s staff, immediately trailing luminous traces, drifting towards Elderidge.
