Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2310: Arrangements

Clearly, no one had expected Ye Zhongming to take the entire Red Female Guard with him.

After all, he had said he had come back through smuggling, and if he wanted to return, he would have to use the same route. If it was smuggling, could he really take so many people?

But Ye Zhongming knew well enough—it was just a matter of paying a bit more. Compared to taking nine-star evolved, the cost for eight-star evolved was much lower, and Earth had just provided him with over a hundred million Moonspan Gold, enough for him to teleport several hundred people in one go.

As for why he was taking the Red Female Guard...

The reason was extremely simple.

Ye Zhongming needed people—trusted subordinates who would fight for him without any reservations.

Could the Star-Eye Clan work? Could the Bronze Battle Squad work?

To some extent, yes. But they ultimately belonged to the Star-Eye Clan. They would die for Ye Zhongming, but they would never betray the Star-Eye Clan for him.

This was not to say that Ye Zhongming would one day oppose the Star-Eye Clan, but he had his own grand plan for the region, and had even built a separate base for it. In the end, he needed people of the same bloodline.

Since he could not take tens of thousands of people, who had the strongest small-unit combat power? Across all of Cloud Peak, it was naturally the Red Female Guard.

As for them losing their jobs or Team Book bonuses upon going up—those were not issues at all.

Was the Red Female Guardʼs strength built on that? No!

Their true strength lay in themselves.

Team Books could be replaced by ancient formations. Equipment was even less of a concern—in extreme cases, Ye Zhongming could have them all outfitted with Raini-grade gear within half a cosmic year. And their bloodlines would not be lost—each one had been carefully selected, with distinct roles that complemented each other.

Moreover, since Ye Zhongming now knew what awaited them up there, before leaving, he would take out all of Cloud Peakʼs stockpiles—everything that could permanently enhance physical stats—medicines, scrolls, function cards, and the like—and use them all on the Red Female Guard, laying a solid foundation for them.

There was another point that gave Ye Zhongming great confidence: nine-star potions could also be improved.

Cloud Peak could now produce improved potions up to eight-star grade, and the Red Makeup Guard were beneficiaries of this. In other words, this technology was already mature.

The reason they still had no nine-star evolution potions was simply that these were too precious, and Liu Zhenghong had not been given enough quantity to research. But with the improvement system now established, upgrading nine-star potions only lacked ”clinical trials.”

Ye Zhongming had even specifically asked Liu Zhenghong about the success rate, and Red Sister had given an almost affirmative answer.

So, bringing this technology up there, the Red Makeup Guard could quickly become all nine-stars, with an initial Furelai of several hundred.

As for why there was no improved potion technology up there—it wasnʼt that there was none, but rather that people up there didnʼt need it as much. They cultivated themselves, breaking through barriers one by one. The nine-star level was the easiest to pass, but continuing to increase Furelai beyond that was not something everyone born in the universe could do.

Ye Zhongming was confident that in a short time, the Red Female Guard would possess a certain level of combat power, and within a year, their overall strength would surpass the Bronze Battle Squad.

By then, the Red Makeup Guard would once again become the sharpest blade in his hand.

With the personnel decided, Cloud Peak began preparations. After all, aside from Xia Bai and the Red Female Guard, everyone else had their own posts and responsibilities. Even beings like Yellow Ball and the Death King Tree had tasks—training war beasts or participating in various experiments. Liang Chuyin also had to find someone to take over her battalion.

Those who didnʼt get a slot were disappointed, but not regretful.

They all knew that Cloud Peak was about to step into a new era. As it gradually took control of the globe, the focus would inevitably shift toward the universe. If they were willing, they would go up sooner or later—perhaps next year, or even, if they took the smuggling route, maybe half a year or even a few months, they could continue following the boss up there.

Many of Cloud Peakʼs high-level members were full of anticipation.

For a moment, they all felt that Earth had become less challenging. They wanted to quickly achieve the bossʼs goal of controlling Earth, and then wait for the chance to make their mark among the cosmic races.

Breakfast ended, and with it, the most important matters. Cloud Peak seemed to settle into calm, ready to follow the established plan.

Ye Zhongming returned to his room, where four masked figures were already waiting.

”The last time all four of you appeared in the same place was when you first joined the Chameleon, wasnʼt it?”

Ye Zhongming smiled and motioned for them to sit.

These four were the actual heads of the Chameleon—two from the Intelligence Department and two from the Operations Department.

The two Operations Department heads were Gao Yi and Zhao Xiangxue. The latter was now a familiar nine-star evolved across Cloud Peak, her Flame Spirit Envoy job so powerful it made people tremble.

Gao Yi, as the lead captain, was much more low-key and rarely appeared in public.

Back then, he and Zhao Xiangxue had been cultivated as the Chameleonʼs strongest assets when they joined Ye Zhongming at the Bright Water Feast. Over the years, Gao Yi had guarded the Chameleon through his own efforts.

To this day, every mission Gao Yi had taken on had never failed.

Whether against external forces, mutated lifeforms, or internal traitors—none had ever failed.

The two Intelligence Department heads were far more mysterious; probably only Ye Zhongming had seen their true faces.

”What do you call yourselves now?” Ye Zhongming started to call them, but then remembered something and asked with a smile.

”Call me ʼBlunt Knife,ʼ boss,” said the shorter one.

”Call me ʼEye,ʼ” said the taller one.

This ”Eye” was actually the head of the Chameleonʼs Intelligence Department before the restructuring. He had gone by many names—Shadow, Dark Soul, and the like—intentionally so.

He was also the one many—including Cloud Peakʼs high-level members—believed to be the Chameleonʼs overall leader.

As for Blunt Knife, he had been the head of the Espionage Department, responsible for Chameleon members embedded in various factions. After the restructuring, he held the title of Deputy Intelligence Director, but his responsibilities remained the same—only now, with Cloud Peakʼs growing influence, his network of spies and the resources he controlled had grown immensely.

”Gao Yi will go up through the welcoming day to join me. From now on, Zhao Xiangxue will lead the Operations Team.” After speaking, Ye Zhongming tapped the table, and a burly masked man walked in from outside.

”Let me introduce you—Lan Zha. He will take over as Deputy Operations Team Leader.”
