Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2295: Battle (4)

The appearance of the Demon Whale drew the attention of the entire battlefield.

Since Ye Zhongming had left Earth, no lifeform had been so widely known and feared.

Before, Ye Zhongmingʼs name had loomed like a great demon king over all factions, and later it spread to Europe, the Americas, Southeast Asia, and the far north, becoming synonymous with the worldʼs number one.

The peak of Ye Zhongmingʼs fame came when Mo Ye killed Wang Hanran—by then, Ye Zhongming was no longer on Earth, yet had left behind the legend that even his subordinate could kill a nine-star evolved.

Now, the Demon Whale had become humanityʼs nightmare.

Previously, the Demon Whale had displayed formidable combat power. Even Cloud Peak Villa, with its abundance of top-tier lifeforms, could do little against it and had even suffered losses.

Moreover, no one had ever seen this monster fight at full strength.

Because no one had been able to force it to go all out.

Xia Bai wanted to try, so she struck.

After Ye Zhongming left, Xia Bai had grown much quieter, which made her purer and more devoted to pursuing power.
She was the benchmark, and the Red Female Guard had become unusually low-key as well. Even when hunting nine-star lifeforms for top-tier magic crystals, they did not show themselves.

Most of the time, they stayed within Cloud Peak Villa, only occasionally going out—no one knew where they went or what they did.

But one thing everyone could sense was that the Red Female Guard had grown colder, so cold that strangers kept their distance, so cold that others dared not approach.

Thus, no one knew just how powerful the Red Female Guard had become.

Previously, it was estimated that they could together take down three ordinary newly-advanced nine-star evolvers, regardless of casualties.

That was a terrifying prospect.

Of course, some did not believe it, since any nine-star evolver—even a newly evolved one—had entered a different realm, closer to ”godhood.” They should not be killable by non-top-tier beings.

Even within Cloud Peak, opinions varied. Some believed the Red Female Guard could be even stronger, capable of taking on four nine-stars together—especially after Xia Bai had become a nine-star herself!

Others argued that when facing top-tier lifeforms, lower ranks—even eight-star evolved—had no chance of banding together to resist. Counting Xia Bai, they could handle at most two, and with heavy casualties.

Today was the first time many had seen the Demon Whale, and also the first time in nearly a year that they had laid eyes on the Red Female Guard.

Now, many were awed by that giant black scythe phantom.

Could you imagine a transport plane flying low, only to have a giant scythe loom over it?

Everyone felt small and powerless.

At the end of the scytheʼs phantom was a masked human, clad in black armor, with a pair of jet-black wings. Dozens of black feathers drifted slowly around her.

She hovered in midair, one hand hanging naturally, the other gripping the end of the black scythe.

Huge and minuscule—the contrast was stark in that moment.

The scythe phantom swept across the sky, and across the Demon Whaleʼs body.

Many gasped at that moment.

Because they saw the black scythe cut straight through the Demon Whaleʼs body.

Had it... hit?!

But they quickly realized something was wrong. The Demon Whaleʼs body flickered and shifted sideways.

It had dodged!

Many humans sighed inwardly.

The first strike was always the most sudden and the most powerful. If the first was evaded, the tide of battle could quickly turn against you.

Everyone acknowledged Xia Baiʼs strength—even within Cloud Peak, no one could claim to beat her one-on-one. But compared to the Demon Whale, which had already killed many peer-level lifeforms, people instinctively placed Xia Bai in the weaker position.

”Looks like Iʼm not late—perfect timing.”

At the center of Cloud Peakʼs command post, Liu Zhenghong stepped through a teleportation portal, looked up, and smiled as she spoke.

Xia Lei and the others could only smile wryly and surround Red Sister to keep her safe.

”Little Yeʼs gone up to the sky. If thereʼs anyone in Cloud Peak who can handle the Demon Whale, Iʼd bet on her.”

As Liu Zhenghong spoke, she watched the scythe phantom in Xia Baiʼs hand disappear. After returning to her original form, this unique Cloud Peak being calmly rose to the same height as the Demon Whale, while the Red Female Guard positioned themselves slightly below and behind Xia Bai.

”Because she... is different from us.”

Everyone had some idea of Xia Baiʼs uniqueness, but the specifics were unclear to them.

The Red Female Guard, wearing their special masks, raised their weapons in unison, channeling energy that connected with Xia Bai in the air.

Under the gaze of countless beings, Xia Bai absorbed the energy and suddenly expanded her body, growing until she was no smaller than the Demon Whale.

Her armor and the black scythe she wielded grew along with her.

It was an inexplicable phenomenon.

Could a person—even a nine-star evolver—really violate certain laws?

”Xia Bai is the only one in Cloud Peak Villa who needs no equipment. Many times, I wonder if she still belongs to the human category.”

A strange light flickered in Sister Hongʼs eyes—not a metaphor, but an actual color flowing within them.

This was her ability, though no one knew what she was observing.

”After she evolved, the path she took is beyond our understanding.”

As Sister Hong spoke, the now-giant Xia Bai flapped her wings, spinning her scythe and stirring the surrounding air. Black, ribbon-like winds gathered around her, and as she thrust the scythe forward, these black winds shot toward the Demon Whale like vengeful spirits.

After displaying its strange ability at the start, the Demon Whale finally moved in response to these black winds.

The long whiskers at its mouth swayed, emitting small, bright blue crystals—like frozen seawater.

They drifted forward with the wind, heading toward Xia Baiʼs side.

At a certain moment, the drifting black winds and crystalline crystals suddenly erupted violently. The black winds dispersed, making the sky above and around Xia Bai seem like the end of the world, while the blue crystals whipped up a storm, as if the densest meteor shower had descended upon the earth.

They collided and intertwined in midair, then the energies exploded outward in all directions like a bomb.

Any lifeforms beneath them were knocked about, clinging to the ground to avoid being blown away.

”Lian!”

Xia Bai spun, swinging her black scythe, and a black energy lotus formed at its tip.

A water column rose from the sea beneath the Demon Whale, forming a giant beastʼs head that lunged upward to swallow Xia Bai.

Before their first collision had even ended, the second clash began.
