Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2291: Land and Ocean Battle

”Lord Tiger, we canʼt get up there!”

The deputy commander said anxiously to Little Tiger.

The battle had broken out unexpectedly, and Little Tigerʼs battalion, which had no defensive duties, was immediately cut off behind the front line.

As a cavalry unit, they excelled at offense rather than defense, so naturally they did not need to worry about holding positions.

As Little Tigerʼs authority had grown over time, his battalion now universally called him Lord Tiger. Especially after Ye Zhongming left, he had grown a beard, making him look much more mature.

In fact, Little Tiger was not even thirty yet.

Of course, the nickname truly spread after Little Tiger became a father.

”Even if we canʼt get up there, we canʼt just force our way in!”

Little Tiger knew his men too well—they were all fearless fighters. As one of Cloud Peakʼs main forces, being stuck watching during such a major battle was driving them mad. This deputy had been pushed forward by the others to ask Little Tiger to secure a chance to fight, to have some other battalion give up their combat zone.

Little Tiger scolded his subordinate, then pointed and said, ”The engagement zone is too close to the sea beastsʼ habitat—weʼd have no room to maneuver if we charged in.”
”And even if we did charge through, what would we face? Slippery mud and countless sea beasts swarming us from all sides.”

The others fell silent.

Little Tiger was right. A cavalry unit was best suited for open battlefield combat, not this terrain—one step forward and youʼre in the ocean, surrounded by mud.

”However...” Little Tiger squinted as he assessed the battle. ”That doesnʼt mean we canʼt earn some merits.”

……………………

Deacon Tong and Deacon Water stood respectively at the center and the very front of their formation.

Their battalion was to face the Naga Battle Mage Legion, which alone had four top-tier beings. With Cloud Peakʼs other top-tier lifeforms needing to reserve some strength against the Demon Whale, at least in the short term, the two Five Ring Money stewards would be under immense pressure.

But this was their choice. If they got through it, they would be reborn, ushering in great development and officially becoming one of Cloud Peakʼs main battalions.

Main force versus non-main force—though only one word differed, only those involved knew the vast difference in treatment.

The Naga Battle Mage Legion was well-rounded. The males stood at the front, with two ten-armed Nagas particularly conspicuous, each holding a weapon in all ten arms, most of which actually glowed with purple light.

Though they could not fully utilize the abilities, the sheer attack power was not to be underestimated.

In the rear formation, two female nine-star Nagas stood at the center, their ten arms holding spell beads and staves. These not only enhanced their magic power but also made humans gnash their teeth in frustration.

They could use not only their own energy but also the energy from their equipment. This made them far more formidable than the males, who could only rely on their weaponsʼ attack power.

Fully one hundred fifty thousand Nagas—on their arms alone, they held at least two hundred thousand wheel weapons. This showed how many humans they had killed in battle since birth!

Deacon Water looked at the enemy opposite and chuckled, drawing a circle in the air with her hands before her chest.

As a water-element practitioner, facing the Nagas felt like a mutual repulsion between kindred spirits.

A water sphere formed there, and as she completed the circle, the sphere rose above her head. She then held it aloft with both hands, her long hair billowing.

A breeze arose over the distant sea, and layers of water mist spread out, shrouding the two forces.

A Naga nine-star mage looked up, raised four arms, and the staves and beads on them glowed faintly. Wisps of vapor rose, quickly covering the entire Naga Battle Mage Legion.

Whoosh!

Almost instantly, a torrential downpour poured down, targeting primarily the Naga Battle Mage Legion, but also covering some areas around them.

The raindrops fell on the vapor, and white mist rose, as if water had hit hot iron. But the sound it made was like drumbeats, thumping rhythmically against the heart.

Deacon Tong raised her hand, and the battalion members behind her raised their longbows, which glowed with various lights.

The Five Ring Money was as wealthy as the Cannibal Chain. In training her battalion, Deacon Tong had drawn on the strengths of the Cannibal Chainʼs forces, establishing sub-units with similar characteristics and professions.

Behind her now was a longbow unit of over ten thousand.

With Cloud Peakʼs support, their weapons were guaranteed—even the lowest-ranked archers had blue-grade equipment, while squad leaders all wielded golden longbows. The unit commander even carried a purple weapon.

The arrows they used were also high-grade. Back when Ye Zhongming had left, the warehouses had been stocked with many such consumables, crafted by the Cloud Peak King in his spare time—after all, the process did not require much thought.

Each archerʼs quiver contained at least several dozen high-grade arrows made by the Cloud Peak King, mostly blue-grade, with gold-grade being true treasures.

The rest were mostly green-grade.

In Deacon Tongʼs plan, this unit did not need to fire many times—only a few effective but devastating volleys.

So their first attack was a sky-covering rain of blue arrows!

Deacon Water shouted softly and shattered the water sphere in her hands. The energy inside exploded into countless droplets, spraying toward the opposing Naga Battle Mage Legion like high-pressure water jets.

A towering male Naga roared, leaping over its own formation and charging at the droplets with weapons raised.

As it advanced, the wind its movement created solidified into a conical zone. The top-tier male Naga hurled a giant hammer straight at Water Steward, who had just unleashed a large-scale ability.

The torrential rain reached its peak intensity. The rhythmic drumming became a continuous roar as the vapor fought stubbornly, until at a certain moment, it dissipated entirely.

The remaining raindrops fell upon the Naga warriors below, piercing their bodies and mowing them down like wheat.

The droplets from the shattered water sphere struck the advancing top-tier male Naga like bullets, hitting the solidified wind it had created and, beyond its expectation, some of the front-line Naga warriors as well.

Blue blood splattered, accompanied by the Nagasʼ distinctive cries.

The giant hammer arrived before Deacon Water’s eyes at that moment. Three hundred shield-bearers around her shouted in unison, throwing themselves before their leader, using their shields and lives to protect a loyalty unique to the apocalypse.

Shattered bodies fell around them, along with a deformed, utterly ruined purple-grade giant hammer.

Human and Naga blood mingled on the ground, fully heralding this land-sea conflict destined for the history books.
