Chapter 749, Terrifying Power

*Ding!*

With a crisp sound, Xia Baquan’s figure involuntarily stiffened, but that perilously close, potentially fatal attack was still blocked by him.

“Damn it! This bastard! If that guy hadn’t warned me about him, I really would have carelessly fallen for his trick!” Xia Baquan cursed, gazing at the Spirit Sword swirling around Qin Yichen’s periphery. He could not help but break out in a cold sweat. If those two who had revealed Qin Yichen’s whereabouts to him earlier had not given him a warning, that previous strike, even if it hadn’t hit a vital point, would have certainly left him injured!

Immediately after, Xia Baquan’s complexion also completely darkened.

“Mountain Splitting Sword!” In the next instant, Xia Baquan suppressed the contempt in his heart. With a swing of the giant sword in his hand, green light surged violently. It actually transformed into a massive blade nearly ten metres in size. Then, with a thunderous boom, the very air was forcefully compressed and exploded, ruthlessly bearing down upon Qin Yichen.

*Swoosh!* Firmly locked by Xia Baquan’s aura, Qin Yichen gritted his teeth. The Spirit Sword transformed into a white beam of light, whistling forth to meet the attack head-on.

“Break!” Xia Baquan’s eyes sharpened with severity as he shouted. Immediately after, the massive green sword, carrying crushing momentum, suppressed downward.

Under this oppressive force, the sharp Spirit Sword did not even manage to obstruct it in the slightest before being shocked back. And the instant the Spirit Sword was knocked aside, a pallid colour also flashed across Qin Yichen’s face.

[The offensive power of a Mid Stage Martial Emperor is indeed terrifying!]

“Brat, you dare bring out such petty tricks!? Die!” Having knocked the Spirit Sword aside, the cold gleam in Xia Baquan’s eyes intensified. With a fierce shout, the green giant sword came crashing down directly upon Qin Yichen’s head.

Such momentum, even an ordinary Martial Emperor would be smashed alive into a pulp of flesh!

Under this pressure, both Qin Yichen’s mind and body were taut. Facing that death-like shadow looming over him, his eyes actually slowly closed, as though at this moment he had already given up resistance!

“Qin Yichen!” Seeing this scene, Qiao Yuewei, hidden in the distance, could not help but cry out in alarm. If he suffered severe injuries, she still had confidence in stabilising his condition. But if he was smashed into pulp, even with her special Physique, she would be powerless to help!

*Hmph!* Seeing Qin Yichen’s reaction, Xia Baquan sneered coldly, the savage smile on his face growing even more intense. Although letting this detestable sharp-tongued brat die so quickly left him somewhat dissatisfied, he was also rushing to the inheritance emergence site and could not spare the effort to torture the latter.

However, in the next instant, Xia Baquan’s brows suddenly furrowed, because he discovered that Qin Yichen’s arms were stretched backward, his entire body also tilted like a drawn bow.

“Insignificant ant, you still want to resist!?” Xia Baquan snorted coldly in his heart. With a press of his hand, that massive sword immediately plummeted!

*Clang! Clang!*

In an instant, it was as though the sound of metal clashing against metal rang out. Then, following a thunderous boom, the earth trembled as dust scattered wildly into the air.

The terrifying Yuan Energy storm swept out madly like overwhelming waves. Within a radius of several hundred metres, all weeds and trees were forcefully shattered. In merely an instant, this area became exceptionally spacious, with only the very centre still emitting billowing dust.

“Hmph, overestimating your abilities!” Having struck down, this time there was not that hollow feeling of hitting nothing. Xia Baquan couldn’t help but snort coldly, his eyes containing a trace of satisfaction.

“Ah!” Seeing this scene, Qiao Yuewei couldn’t help but cry out in alarm. Then, covering her small mouth, she prepared to run over and attempt a rescue.

*Crack!* But just at this moment, a faint sound suddenly rang out. Immediately after, a strange aura appeared in both their perceptions.

“What’s going on!?” Xia Baquan’s brows furrowed as his gaze fixed intently on that area shrouded in dust. Seeing this, Qiao Yuewei’s steps also halted, stopping in place.

*Whoosh!* As a gust of wind swept past, the dust filling the sky slowly dispersed. The situation at the very centre of the dust cloud also hazily appeared in both their lines of sight.

At this moment, that place had been shocked into a depression nearly one metre deep. But what made them astonished was that the massive sword manifestation hadn’t actually fallen onto the ground. Beneath it, there seemed to be a figure!

“Break!”

Before Xia Baquan could react, a voice full of violence rang out like thunder.

*Boom!*

Immediately after, under their shocked gazes, that massive sword manifestation was actually sent flying backwards violently, scraping out a trench several dozen metres long across the earth before finally dissipating.

And at this moment, in the previous deep crater, a figure also completely emerged in Xia Baquan’s and Qiao Yuewei’s lines of sight.

At this time, Qin Yichen stood there, black energy swirling around both arms. From a distance, he looked just like a Demon God, stealing away one’s very Soul!

“This… what is this!?” Looking at that rising black energy, disbelief surged within Xia Baquan’s pupils. Although he did not know what that thing was, his instinct told him that it was even more violent than the Evil Energy within this ancient battlefield!

He even had an impulse to flee from this place.

He had a total feeling that such a thing must not be touched!

And just as his attention wavered, Qin Yichen walked towards him step by step.

At this moment, Qin Yichen was as though he had become another person entirely. Evil Energy swirled throughout his body, both eyes pitch black, causing anyone who looked at him to involuntarily tremble with fear.

*Swoosh!* Then, he stomped down with one foot, raised his fist, and smashed towards Xia Baquan.

“Argh!” Seeing his action that almost disregarded himself, a Mid Stage Martial Emperor, Xia Baquan became furious. The giant sword in his hand cleaved directly towards Qin Yichen as he shouted, “Go to Hell!”

The giant sword cleaved down, yet Qin Yichen did not dodge, meeting it head-on with a single fist.

“Seeking death!” A savage expression appeared on Xia Baquan’s face as he added several more portions of force to his hand, wanting to cleave Qin Yichen open with a single sword strike.

“Clang!…” The giant sword and fist collided together, bizarrely producing the sound of metal collision. Then, Xia Baquan felt a tremendous force transmit from the sword’s body to his palm.

The force shocked his body until blood emerged from his lips. Then, the giant sword in his hand nearly fell from his grip.

*Step step step…*

He retreated three large steps. Looking again at Qin Yichen in the distance who had been forced back a dozen steps, his eyes filled with shock.

One must know that he was using a sword!

Moreover, this sword was no common item. Although saying it could cut through iron like mud was somewhat exaggerated, it was not far off. Yet it had been blocked by Qin Yichen’s bare fists.

What shocked him most was that he could feel that Qin Yichen’s force was actually no less than his own!

His heart cried out that this was impossible.

After all, he was a Mid Stage Martial Emperor! How could Qin Yichen, a Martial King, possibly possess power comparable to his!?
