Alchemy Master

Chapter 705, Fleeing Once More

Translator: Silavin

At the mention of Liu Kai, Liu Yun’s expression rapidly darkened.

Although he had managed to escape by sheer luck, Liu Kai and those two deathsworns who had been utterly loyal to him had likely already met with misfortune.

Liu Kai was his personal deathsworn, who had watched him grow up!

[Liu Mu, I will not let you get away with this!] A cold gleam flashed through Liu Yun’s eyes.

Seeing his silence, Uncle Luo lowered his head slightly, seemingly mourning the departure of an old friend.

“Young Master, please follow me!”

After a brief moment, he raised his head and addressed Liu Yun.

“Very well.”

Liu Yun relaxed. This was already within Rainbow Light Pavilion’s sphere of influence. Here, he was safe.

Subsequently, he followed behind Uncle Luo, heading towards the Rainbow Light Pavilion branch within the city.

Qin Yichen’s eyes narrowed slightly as he imperceptibly moved closer to Long Qingyao.

He felt that something was not quite right about the situation, but he could not articulate exactly what was wrong.

The group walked along the street. Liu Yun and Uncle Luo at the front, Qin Yichen and Long Qingyao in the middle, surrounded by a contingent of Rainbow Light Pavilion experts providing escort.

[Something’s wrong!]

Suddenly, Qin Yichen stopped in his tracks. His gaze swept over Uncle Luo and these Rainbow Light Pavilion experts, as if trying to discover something.

[ they are too calm!]

That Liu Mu, in order to bring down Liu Yun, had been able to contact assassins from the Black Soul Group. How could he possibly give up pursuing Liu Yun so easily?!

“What’s the matter?”

Seeing him stop, Liu Yun also halted and turned around, asking with confusion.

“Young Master, the city is crowded and unsafe. It would be better to reach the branch pavilion first before discussing anything.”

Just as Qin Yichen was about to speak, Uncle Luo beside Liu Yun appeared somewhat nervous as he spoke.

Instantly, Qin Yichen’s eyes suddenly narrowed.

He finally understood why he had felt something was amiss.

[This Uncle Luo. As I thought, there is something off about him! Moreover, the experts surrounding us don’t seem to be protecting us at all, but rather escorting the three of them like prisoners!]

“It’s nothing.” His thoughts turned rapidly. Qin Yichen gave Liu Yun a relaxed smile, but as the latter turned away, an almost inaudible voice transmitted into Liu Yun’s ear.

“Flee!” That single, simple word caused Liu Yun’s advancing body to stiffen slightly.

*Bang! Bang!*

In an instant, Qin Yichen knocked down the two guards at his sides. Immediately after, he and Long Qingyao moved in unison, charging towards the distant street.

Liu Yun followed closely behind them.

This sudden change left Uncle Luo momentarily stunned. Then, he quickly recovered, his expression becoming savage as he roared at those guards, “What are you standing there for? Quickly capture them!”

*Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!*

The contingent of guards pursued without hesitation.

“Damn it, how was I exposed?” Uncle Luo ground his teeth. He could not understand where he had revealed a flaw. Subsequently, his form moved, swiftly giving chase.

He was acutely aware that if Liu Yun escaped this time, his head would certainly not be spared!

Looking at the pursuers behind, Liu Yun’s heart sank to the depths.

Even if he were a complete fool, he could see that this Uncle Luo had already been bought over by Liu Mu! [You too…!?]

Looking at Qin Yichen’s back, his emotions became somewhat complicated.

When they had first met, he had not given Qin Yichen a proper look, completely failing to take him seriously.

But it was Qin Yichen who had saved him.

Perhaps that had been a fortuitous coincidence, but this time, he felt genuinely convinced.

From the current situation, if he had gone with Uncle Luo to the Rainbow Light Pavilion branch, it would have been equivalent to a sheep walking into a tiger’s mouth.

This meant Qin Yichen had saved him a second time!

“Wait.” Seeing that Qin Yichen and his companion were about to charge towards the city gate, Liu Yun stopped, pointing towards another main road. “The Transport Array is over there!”

“Idiot!” Qin Yichen’s form did not stop. He merely turned his head indifferently, spitting out a word laden with thick contempt.

Without doubt, Liu Mu knew Liu Yun would come to River Forest City. Within the city, he had long since laid out an inescapable net! How could there possibly be no one stationed at a place like the Transport Array!?

This could not be blamed on Liu Yun though. After all, he had simply never encountered such a situation before.

However, Liu Yun as a person, though romantic and unrestrained, was not bad by nature.

Of course, this was not the reason Qin Yichen had repeatedly saved Liu Yun.

The reason was that from the moment Liu Mu had seen him standing together with Liu Yun, he had already been bound together with Liu Yun. Regardless of what relationship he and Liu Yun had, it did not matter.

Perhaps right now the Rainbow Light Pavilion Master already knew someone intended harm towards Liu Yun, but he certainly did not know it was Liu Mu causing trouble. Otherwise, that scene just now would not have occurred.

Presumably, Liu Mu currently still possessed legitimate justification to utilise his own influence within Rainbow Light Pavilion to search for Liu Yun, and was using the excuse of conducting a rescue to send out his own men!

Moreover, most critically, if Liu Yun died, perhaps Qin Yichen and Long Qingyao would become the scapegoats.

At that time, even if Qin Yichen possessed great capabilities, could he evade the pursuit of Rainbow Light Pavilion, one of the ten great powers of the Heart Trial Territory?

Obviously, it was impossible.

Therefore, regardless of whether Qin Yichen was willing or not, he still had to save Liu Yun, still had to keep him following along.

Due to the sudden nature of events, even if Uncle Luo wanted to notify Lin Mu, it was already too late.

At this moment, Liu Yun’s combat capability demonstrated its usefulness.

His cultivation approached the Mid Stage Martial Emperor Realm, plus with his special Martial Soul, even Mid Stage Martial Emperors might not necessarily be his match.

Therefore, the three of them managed to break through the encirclement relatively easily.

Qin Yichen sighed, turning his head to glance back at River Forest City.

He could only hope now that the people who had witnessed that scene could transmit some useful information outward.

* * *

River Forest City, Rainbow Light Pavilion branch.

At this moment, Uncle Luo stood there with a dishevelled, ashen face, whilst seated in the primary position was Lin Luo.

“You’re saying you let Lin Yun escape again!?”

Instantly, Lin Mu’s expression darkened, his voice extremely cold, causing Uncle Luo standing there to tremble throughout his body. With a stumble, he fell to his knees.

“Useless!” Lin Mu flew into a rage, grabbing a teacup beside him and smashing it on his head. Immediately, his head was bloodied, but he didn’t dare even groan.

“What are you standing there for? Why aren’t you chasing them!?” Lin Mu roared and bellowed. The experts within the hall departed one after another, fearing they might fall behind and receive a scolding.

They might feel regret, but having already chosen sides, they had no alternatives. Once the matter was exposed, they could not escape death!

“You and your subordinates are equally useless!” At some unknown moment, a black shadow appeared behind him. That indifferent voice left Lin Mu furious yet not daring to speak out.

The Black Soul Group’s assassin was not someone he had contacted, but rather was someone who had actively contacted him.

And this assassin’s target was Liu Yun. Or more accurately, Liu Yun’s Silver-Winged Thunder Devourer Martial Soul!
