Chapter 724, The Gathering Point

The Transport Array could only transfer people to the outer region of the ancient battlefield.

The Heart Trial City, however, was located in the middle region of the ancient battlefield.

From the outer region to the middle region was quite a considerable distance.

“I heard from the Elders that, during each Imperial Dynasties Assembly, not many people can reach Heart Trial City. In fact, many times, less than half manage to arrive.” Liu Yun said in a sinister tone, then sneakily tried to persuade Long Qingyao, “Why don’t we just withdraw? Going to that godforsaken place has no appeal whatsoever.”

Long Qingyao rolled her eyes at him and paid him no heed.

Of course, this was not Liu Yun being an alarmist.

Walking from this outer region to Heart Trial City was, in fact, the preliminary assessment of the Imperial Dynasties Assembly.

If someone did not even possess this level of strength, they naturally had no qualification to participate in the true assembly!

This was an exceedingly cruel matter.

One must understand that here, even if there was danger, no one would come to the rescue.

Greenhouse flowers naturally could not adapt to these cruel rules.

Liu Yun’s lack of confidence was perfectly understandable.

After all, he had never experienced anything so brutal.

[Heaven, what did I do in my past life to make me encounter them?] Seeing that Qin Yichen and Long Qingyao remained completely unmoved, Liu Yun’s eyes brimmed with tears as he sighed toward Heaven.

Of course, he seemed to have forgotten that if he hadn’t coincidentally encountered Qin Yichen, he would likely already be dead at the hands of those Black Soul Group assassins.

Along the journey, the three travelled extremely slowly.

Under the coverage of his Spiritual Energy, Qin Yichen perfectly avoided the Demonic Beasts lurking within the dense forest.

Most of these Demonic Beasts were only at the Martial King Realm.

Of course, there was no shortage of those at the Martial Emperor Realm either, and Martial Emperor Realm Demonic Beasts generally possessed their own territories.

Therefore, they were relatively easy to avoid.

In this type of place, encountering Demonic Beasts was a troublesome matter, because commotion and the scent of blood would attract even more Demonic Beasts.

As they ventured deeper, the trio progressively slowed their pace.

Along the way, they encountered several unavoidable Demonic Beasts, all of which were eliminated by Qin Yichen with lightning speed, without causing much disturbance.

“We should find a place to take shelter.” Suddenly, Liu Yun stopped once more. Looking at the somewhat dim sky, he reminded them in a grave voice.

Qin Yichen also seemed to sense something, his brow furrowing slightly.

Perhaps because it was approaching dusk, he detected some restless auras.

[The Demonic Beasts seem to be growing agitated…]

“This place isn’t like the outside world. In the ancient battlefield, once night falls, the Demonic Beasts here are influenced by the battlefield’s Evil Energy and go berserk. When that happens… hehe, even Martial Emperors can’t withstand it.” Liu Yun said with a cold laugh.

Too many powerful experts had perished in this region. Although the Evil Energy had been mostly purified, once night fell, the Evil Energy would affect the Demonic Beasts.

During the night, the strength of Demonic Beasts would increase exponentially, and that violent Bloodline originating from their very bones would cause them to completely lose their rationality.

“It’s best to find a temporary gathering point. Otherwise, relying solely on ourselves, we won’t last until dawn!”

As if seeing that Qin Yichen’s expression had grown more serious, Liu Yun felt inexplicably pleased. However, for the sake of his own life, he still suggested this course of action.

“Gathering point?” Qin Yichen’s brow furrowed as he murmured softly.

“You don’t even know this? Heaven, you don’t even know the most basic things about the ancient battlefield. Where exactly did you find the courage to participate in the Imperial Dynasties Assembly?”

Looking at Qin Yichen’s confused expression, Liu Yun could not help but cover his face with his hand and sigh.

Although he had never planned to participate in any Imperial Dynasties Assembly, the Rainbow Light Pavilion Master had originally intended for him to participate. Therefore, some of the common situations within the ancient battlefield had been nagged into his ears countless times by various Elders of the Rainbow Light Pavilion.

“Forget it, can’t be bothered explaining to you. Let’s hurry and go.”

Liu Yun said with a look of disdain. Afterwards, his gaze swept around in a circle, then his figure shot toward the east.

Qin Yichen smiled bitterly. In terms of foundational experience, their Heavenly Dragon Imperial City, even the Feng Family, naturally could not compare with the Rainbow Light Pavilion, which ranked within the top ten of Heart Trial Territory.

Across the vast forest sea, three figures flashed past like lightning.

Under Liu Yun’s guidance, Qin Yichen also noticed that along the way, they encountered some geniuses from other Imperial Dynasties. However, the moment both sides met, before they could form any thoughts, those people from the various Imperial Dynasties would avoid them from afar like startled birds.

That level of vigilance also prevented Qin Yichen from inquiring about matters concerning the gathering points.

“We should be arriving at the gathering point nearest to us soon.” Just as Qin Yichen couldn’t help but want to open his mouth to ask, Liu Yun, who was ahead, finally spoke.

Under Long Qingyao’s inquiry, Liu Yun gradually explained the matter of the gathering points.

For those who had just arrived in this ancient battlefield, nightfall undoubtedly symbolized darkness and endless death!

Once night descended, this world would be dominated by Demonic Beasts and terrifying Evil Energy. Even Martial Emperors wouldn’t dare cause any major disturbances. Once surrounded by large numbers of Demonic Beasts, their fate wouldn’t be any better!

This environment had given rise to various gathering points. Although competition in the ancient battlefield was brutal, when unable to match the enemy’s strength, they still needed to unite and congregate. Otherwise, anyone attempting to survive alone during the nightmare-like night would find it extremely difficult.

During Liu Yun’s explanation, the trio’s figures had already arrived at a crevice between several mountain ranges. In the middle of the mountains, there was a small clearing, and upon that clearing, a small village-like camp sat nestled within.

This camp appeared extremely simple and was not particularly large. However, the surrounding fence, which seemed as if forged from steel, emanated an aura of solidity.

This was a place that could become a gathering point in this ancient battlefield. Its durability was absolutely beyond question!

Upon seeing this camp, Liu Yun seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, his figure descending downward. Qin Yichen and Long Qingyao exchanged glances and slowly descended as well.

At this moment, before this camp, in front of that gate seemingly forged from steel, several groups were rushing over. Each possessed formidable auras, clearly all outstanding prodigies from various Imperial Dynasties.

What made Qin Yichen somewhat surprised was that at this camp’s gate, several figures were actually blocking the entrance. On the wall behind them hung numerous banners, and upon those banners was the symbol of an ancient colossal elephant.

“What’s going on?” Liu Yun’s brow furrowed with some surprise.

“This gathering point has been occupied by someone else.” Qin Yichen said in a rather grave tone.
