Alchemy Master

Chapter 40, Sirius Pill Completed

Translator: Silavin

Qin Yichen was naturally unperturbed by the chaotic sounds around him. His mind remained as calm as water.

Ordinary Alchemy Masters, once disturbed, could fail in Pill refining due to a moment of distraction. However, if one could let their mind be as calm as water, even amidst a mountain of swords or a sea of flames, they would remain unaffected by anything else.

As the saying goes, one could only achieve minor cultivation when done in the forest. Major cultivation could only be done in the city.

(Silavin: Basically, can’t achieve great things only in serenity. Focus and mastery can only be tested when there are distractions.)

Back in his previous life, Qin Yichen had cultivated the ability of retaining a calm mind amidst chaos.

“This is far too frivolous!” Seeing Qin Yichen start to control the fire, Zhou Tianwei snorted to express his dissatisfaction.

His impression of Qin Yichen had gotten from bad to worse.

However, what he did not understand was why Liu Wen dared to let him verify this in person. Did Liu Wen really believe that this act of randomly throwing medicinal herbs into the Pill Furnace would allow a brat to refine Pills?

“Uh…” Liu Wen was also a bit embarrassed. After all, this was also his first time watching Qin Yichen refine Pills. However, he still stressed, “Special Envoy, according to my friend, the Li Family’s Chief Alchemist, Second Grade Alchemy Master Ran Rui, even without weighing, his grasp of the amount of medicinal herbs can be accurate to the gram…”

“That’s impossible!” Hearing this, Zhou Tianwei’s eyes flashed with doubt and surprise.

He had heard his Master, Grandmaster Gu Ye, mention this skill. However, even his Master could not achieve it. So, how could this mere sixteen year old kid have such incredible skill!?

However, during this time, Qin Yichen had already begun to refine the medicinal herbs in the small Pill Furnace.

Under his control, except for the Sirius Flower, the other medicinal herbs were melting at varying speeds…

The whole process, while seeming casual, was actually very rigorous, without even a single flaw.

As various medicinal herbs melted, they did not scatter, but rotated in a strange pattern, colliding with each other lightly or heavily. Finally, in this manner, they gradually fused together.

Of course, originally, this refining process did not need to be so complicated, but because Qin Yichen’s Spiritual Energy was too little and weak, he could not directly forcefully fuse these medicinal essences together. Thus, he had to adopt this method.

*Huuuu…* After about half an hour, except for the Sirius Flower, all other medicinal herbs had been refined. It was just that they had not fully fused together just yet. Qin Yichen exhaled, closed his eyes, rested for nearly a minute, then with renewed spirit, the Sirius Flower began to melt in the Pill Furnace.

It was consuming so much energy for such a long time.

It was evident that this Sirius Pill was not something that could be refined with his current Spiritual Energy level.

Moreover, there were quite a few First Grade medicinal materials among them. If not for his exceptional skills at Alchemy, trying to refine the Sirius Pill would have been impossible.

The Sirius Flower quickly melted into Medicinal Liquid. Under Qin Yichen’s detailed control, those scattered essences slowly gathered, enveloped by the Sirius Flower’s Medicinal Liquid…

*Huuuu…* At this moment, the Pill Furnace became agitated. The Medicinal Liquid inside seemed to boil, impacting the Pill Furnace from side to side, with bubbles occasionally bursting. A special medicinal fragrance also started to spread throughout the room.

“Is it about to explode?” Zhou Tianwei’s eyes narrowed, looking at the scene in the glass bead, disappointment flashed in his eyes.

Originally, he had held a glimmer of hope, but now, it had all turned to bubbles.

Perhaps he should not have had such high hope, because all of this should have been impossible in the first place.

“Serves him right for being arrogant.”

“I said he couldn’t possibly refine Pills. Like I said, he must have cheated!”

“Let’s see how he gets out of this now.”

In the Apprentice Room, discussions were rife, with most showing expressions of anticipation for a good show.

Liu Qiong’er had also been somewhat worried originally, but seeing Qin Yichen’s still calm expression, she realised that all these seemed to still be under his control.

“Now, it’s time for you to shine.” Feeling the agitation in the Pill Furnace, slowly slipping out of his control, Qin Yichen diverted some Spiritual Energy to activate the layer of luminescence at the bottom of the Pill Furnace.

This layer of luminescence was beautiful and thin. It slowly rose like a layer of water, enveloping the agitated medicinal essence.

Slowly, the agitation calmed down.

Although it appeared to be suppressed, in fact, the medicinal properties of the Sirius Pill were rapidly dissipating. That layer of luminescence, like a leech, was greedily absorbing the essence within.

But Qin Yichen did not stop this from happening.

“Condense!” Suddenly, Qin Yichen shouted, almost emptying all the Spiritual Energy in his Knowledge Sea. He poured everything into the small Pill Furnace, forcefully compressing the medicinal properties of the Sirius Pill.

“Bang!” The lid of the small Pill Furnace flew up, and a Pill burst out with it. Qin Yichen seemed to have been prepared. He quickly grabbed the Pill with what was left of his Spiritual Energy and directly placed it into a prepared box.

From the agitation of the small Pill Furnace to the Pill’s completion, it all happened within half a minute. It was so fast that almost no one had time to react.

This included Zhou Tianwei and Liu Wen on the top floor!

They all thought it was about to explode. Who knew there would be such a huge reversal.

“He…” Zhou Tianwei stared, dumbfounded and unable to speak.

Although he had not seen it clearly, he could vaguely see the shape of the Pill. However, at this stage, he still did not know its Grade. He was only certain that a Pill had indeed been formed!

Under circumstances he believed were absolutely impossible, Qin Yichen had actually succeeded!

A young man who had yet to even condensed his Divine Soul Bead had deeply shocked this Chosen Son of Heaven from the Royal City.

*Huuuuu…* Standing behind him, Liu Wen quietly breathed a sigh of relief. At the same time, a faint smile appeared on his face.

In the Apprentice Room… It was terrifyingly quiet.

These people all had expressions as if they had seen a ghost. Their pupils dilated with their faces in shock and mouths unable to close.

A Pill had been formed!

Qin Yichen’s process of collecting the Pill was quick. In that instant, a refreshing Pill fragrance spread, filling the entire room, invigorating everyone’s spirits.

Although they had never refined Pills themselves, coming from noble Families, how could they have never seen Pills?

Judging by this Pill fragrance alone, it was likely not something an Ordinary Pill could possess!

Could it be that Qin Yichen had refined a First Grade Pill?!

The few youths who had seen First Grade Pills before almost felt like they were suffocating.

A sixteen-year-old boy who had not even condensed his Divine Soul Bead had actually refined a First Grade Pill!?

This time, there was no possibility of cheating. The door of the Apprentice Room was closed, and there was no one inside who could refine a First Grade Pill.

As for Liu Qiong’er, she was the only person who had seen the entire process clearly.

She had also clearly seen the Grade of that Pill.

It was a Second Grade Pill!
