Alchemy Master

Chapter 6, Public Alchemy

Translator: Silavin

Burnt Medicinal Dregs… Randomly adding a few medicinal herbs… Using medicinal herbs costing eight silver coins to refine fifteen bottles of Sixth Grade Medicinal Liquid…

Any one of these things made it difficult for the people in this hall to accept.

However, looking at Lin Miaohan’s appearance, it didn’t seem like she was lying.

“Can you take this old man to the Alchemy Room to take a look?” Cai Xinhuan was the first to react, his words enlightening everyone.

Indeed, going to the Alchemy Room would prove whether what she said was true or not.

The group went to the Alchemy Room again. Lin Miaohan placed the remaining twelve bottles of Qi Recovery Liquid in front of everyone.

Cai Xinhuan picked up one of the bottles and took a whiff. Instantly, his eyes lit up as he said, “It is indeed a Sixth Grade Medicinal Liquid with excellent purity.”

He inspected that Pill Furnace and saw a layer of Medicinal Dregs at the bottom of the furnace. Scraping some off, he also confirmed that it was undoubtedly the medicinal herbs used to refine Qi Recovery Liquid, but he couldn’t identify the few medicinal herbs added.

“It was really refined by him?” Everyone looked at Qin Yichen with tremendous shock.

“Haaaa…” Knowing he couldn’t hide it anymore, Qin Yichen let out a sigh. He casually picked various medicinal herbs from the rack without even weighing them. He only slightly jiggled them in his hands before carelessly tossing them into the Pill Furnace.

The others didn’t notice this little movement of his, but Cai Xinhuan, as an Alchemist, was able to instantly catch it. Realising what was going on, his heart trembled violently.

Even though Qin Yichen hadn’t started refining yet, he already felt that there was a high possibility that Sixth Grade Medicinal Liquid was refined by the youth in front of him.

Whether refining Medicinal Liquid or Pills, the amount of medicinal herbs absolutely could not be wrong. If there was the slightest error, it would lead to failure.

However, Cai Xinhuan had heard that some true Alchemy Grandmasters had a weighing scale in their hearts and didn’t need to rely on external objects to measure the weight of things. They were able to accurately get the most precise of measurements with just their hands.

What was he seeing now? A youth actually possessed the techniques of a Master in the World of Alchemy!

Instantly, his heart fiercely constricted. Just based on this one act alone, what this youth in front of him did was already something he himself could not do. [If what Lin Miaohan said was true… I have truly lived so long for nothing… A teen, using burnt Medicinal Dregs, with a Low Grade Human Rank Pill Furnace to actually refine a Medicinal Liquid surpassing what I could make! This is just too disheartening!].

However, complaining was futile.

Qin Yichen’s simple actions made him feel worse. After casually tossing in a few pieces of charcoal to start a fire, he began refining.

During this time, Cai Xinhuan, the only Alchemist here, discovered another thing… [He is using Spiritual Energy! If it’s me, it would take at least a quarter of an hour to make the Medicinal Liquid. But this young man is able to complete the refinement in just one minute! Only one minute!]

Looking at the over a dozen bottles of nearly crystal-clear Medicinal Liquid added in front of them, the crowd was completely speechless.

*Phew…* Wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, Qin Yichen let out a long breath. Although he had his powerful Spirit God Technique, his Spiritual Energy was currently too weak. This one refinement had already made him reach his limit.

[I need to quickly increase my Spiritual Energy.] He knew some methods to rapidly increase Spiritual Energy, but with his current weakness, it was very difficult to obtain those materials.

However, seeing the shocked and speechless Li Hu and Cai Xinhuan in front of him, the corners of his mouth curled up.

“This is Sixth Grade Qi Recovery Liquid. Although it hasn’t reached Seventh Grade, it is several times purer than the one before…” Cai Xinhuan stated the results of his appraisal.

This also showed that Lin Miaohan was not lying. The previous Sixth Grade Medicinal Liquid was refined by Qin Yichen using Medicinal Dregs.

What he didn’t know was that if Qin Yichen’s Spiritual Energy wasn’t limited, refining Seventh or Eighth Grade Medicinal Liquid would be as easy as making putty.

Even so, they were all shocked speechless.

All those pairs of eyes stared at Qin Yichen as if they were looking at a monster. Their hearts felt like ten thousand Elephants had stampeded through, trampled until nothing was left.

“Little Brother, no, Master, I want to invite you to become the Chief Alchemist of my Treasure Pavilion. I don’t know if you can agree to it?” As a businessman, Li Hu quickly discovered Qin Yichen’s potential value and gave this offer. Although he could currently only refine the most basic Medicinal Liquid, his potential was absolutely immeasurable.

[Once he can refine Pills…] Just thinking about it, Li Hu felt incomparably excited.

“”Siiiii…”” Lin Aotian and Qin Haoran instantly sucked in a cold breath. Especially Qin Haoran. Being a Chief Alchemist of Treasure Pavilion was an existence he didn’t even dare to dream of. But now, a manager of Treasure Pavilion actually wanted to invite his Son to be a Chief Alchemist?

This gave him a very unreal feeling.

“No.” However, Qin Yichen bluntly refused Li Hu’s invitation. [What a joke. Becoming your Chief Alchemist meant wholeheartedly working for Treasure Pavilion. I don’t have the time nor the mood to do other miscellaneous things. Right now, my priority is to wholeheartedly improve my Spiritual Energy.]

“My Master said I need to become an Alchemist within a month, otherwise he would expel me from his Sect…”

Thus, he made up a reason.

Become an Alchemist within a month?

Otherwise be expelled from the sect…

The one most impacted by this was the great Chief Alchemist, Cai Xinhuan.

He was in his thirties. He refined his first Pill and was even called an Alchemy genius seen only once in a decade. Yet, what did a ‘genius’ like him amount to in front of this youth?

The reason given was impactful, it also made Li Hu realise that Qin Yichen had a mysterious Master behind him. [Most likely, the formula for this Qi Recovery Liquid Qin Yichen had refined is given from his Master. Being able to produce this kind of formula and teach his Disciple to this extent means that his Master is unfathomable.].

This made Li Hu also give up the idea of trying to tie Qin Yichen down. Not mentioning himself, even the Treasure Pavilion probably couldn’t afford to offend that kind of person.

“My Treasure Gathering Pavilion is preparing to hold an auction and has purchased a few spiritual medicines that can improve Spiritual Energy…” Since his invitation was refused, Li Hu wasn’t angry and threw out another bait.

“Oh?” Qin Yichen’s eyes lit up. Spiritual medicines that could improve Spiritual Energy were extremely precious no matter what era it was. Such treasures could only be encountered but not sought after.

“Tell me, what do you have?”

Seeing that he was interested, Li Hu began listing, “Nourishing Spirit Flower, Fire Silkworm Vine… and Sirius Flower.”

“Sirius Flower?!” Qin Yichen never expected his luck to be so good, actually encountering a Sirius Flower in this kind of small city!

Although Li Hu and the others only knew that Sirius Flower was beneficial for cultivating Spiritual Energy, in this era, the formula for concocting Sirius Pills hadn’t appeared yet!

So, even if people obtained it now, they would still consume it directly.

If consumed directly, the effects weren’t as good as Nourishing Spirit Flower or Fire Silkworm Vine. Therefore, although Sirius Flower was extremely rare now, its price would not be high.
