Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

”What? Thea Sherwood is a filthy plagiarist, and she copied everything? How does she have the nerve to call herself a genius?”

”Oh my god, I can’t believe Thea Sherwood is such a disgusting person.”

”I’m gonna be sick. Talk about a thief crying ’stop thief.’ She promotes herself nonstop; did she never think this would all blow up in her face? ’Perfume prodigy,’ my ass. Who does she think Iris is?”

”Thea Sherwood always throws her weight around, snapping at everyone. Turns out she really is a dog—a plagiarism dog!”

Thea Sherwood saw the tide turn online. Countless people were cursing her out, and she felt a surge of fury.

She was in the middle of getting her nails done. When her hand twitched, the cuticle pusher slipped and stabbed right into her flesh.

”Ah!” Thea Sherwood shrieked in pain.

”I’m sorry, it’s because you suddenly moved, that’s why...”

Thea Sherwood raised her hand and slapped Yasmin Lee hard across the face. ”Are you blaming me?”

”Where’s your boss? Get your boss over here!”

Thea Sherwood was already fuming and needed to vent. The only person she could take it out on was Yasmin Lee.

The commotion quickly brought the nail salon’s owner over. She apologized profusely to Thea Sherwood, then tore into Yasmin Lee. Thea Sherwood didn’t even want the compensation offered and stormed out with a scowl.

Leaving Yasmin Lee to be chewed out, fired, and told she had to pay for damages.

Yasmin Lee bit her lip hard. ’Thea Sherwood was the one who moved. Why is it my fault?’

’That Thea Sherwood... one day, she’ll pay for this!’

Thea Sherwood wanted to prove she hadn’t plagiarized, but there was no easy way to do it.

Perfumery wasn’t like other fields; proving plagiarism was hard enough, let alone disproving it.

’Who would have thought Ivy Sherwood would file patents in advance and even list every single ingredient in the formulas? I only posted them online to share, and people would praise me, calling me a genius. Who knew all that would be used as evidence against me?’

’Besides, I never called myself a genius! They were the ones who said it, so what right do they have to curse me now!’

Thea Sherwood couldn’t stomach it. She called Ivy Sherwood, but Ivy had blocked her number long ago.

Thea Sherwood was livid. ’If I see Ivy Sherwood again, I’ll tear her face off!’

...

The online drama gradually came to a close. Since it was revealed that Ivy Sherwood had created the perfumes Thea claimed as her own, many were surprised to learn about Ivy’s talent for perfumery, and she gained a significant number of followers overnight.

Ivy Sherwood’s company was also up and running, but the startup phase was difficult. From finding a contract manufacturer to establishing sales channels, she had to handle everything herself.

She had high standards for the factory and personally oversaw every detail. For the past few days, Ivy Sherwood had been so busy she’d barely slept.

One day, as Ivy Sherwood was passing the hotel where Quentin Blackwood was staying, she suddenly remembered the perfume in her bag.

She had promised to give his uncle a bottle of perfume. Ivy had finished making it and had been carrying it with her ever since, but she hadn’t run into Quentin Blackwood, so she hadn’t been able to give it to him.

Since she happened to be passing by, Ivy had the driver stop the car. She got out, planning to deliver it to his room.

When she got to his floor, his uncle didn’t seem to be there. Ivy Sherwood waited for a long time, but Quentin Blackwood didn’t return.

A staff member walked over. ”Miss, this is the presidential suite floor. How did you get up here?”

”I’m waiting for someone.” Ivy leaned against the wall.

”Who are you waiting for? The suite is empty. No one has been staying here for the past two days.”

Ivy Sherwood froze for a moment. ”No one’s staying here? What about the Mr. Blackwood who was here before?”

”He checked out two days ago.”

’Checked out?’

’Could it be that Quentin Blackwood went back to Aethelgard?’

Ivy Sherwood hadn’t heard anything about it. ’Then again,’ she thought, ’Quentin and I don’t really have a relationship. Why would he tell me whether he was leaving or not?’

’But if he’s gone, he’s gone. It’s not like our paths will cross again anyway.’

Ivy Sherwood’s legs had started to go numb. After saying ”thank you,” she headed straight downstairs.

She just didn’t expect to run into Silas Blackwood in the lobby.

”Ivy Sherwood!” Silas Blackwood, who had Anna Nash in his arms, saw Ivy and immediately pulled Anna protectively behind him.

”What are you doing here? You didn’t know I was coming here and deliberately came to ambush me, did you?” Silas Blackwood said with a look of disdain.

”You’re sick,” Ivy Sherwood cursed, turning to leave.

”Who the fuck are you cursing? Have I been too easy on you? Haven’t you embarrassed the Blackwood Family enough these past few days?”

Silas Blackwood couldn’t stand the sight of her. She was so ugly, yet she always had this high-and-mighty look on her face, as if she was looking down on him.

’What right does Ivy Sherwood have to look down on him!’

”Silas Blackwood, who’s the one making a scene here?” Ivy Sherwood glanced around. A small crowd had already gathered to watch the drama.

”You might not be embarrassed, but I am.” With that, Ivy Sherwood continued walking away.

Silas Blackwood grabbed Ivy Sherwood’s arm. His grip wasn’t light at all, and a red mark immediately appeared on Ivy’s fair skin.

Silas Blackwood gritted his teeth. ”If you weren’t here for me, then what are you doing here? Getting a room? Did you set up a meeting with another Mr. Archer or Mr. Lee?”

”Don’t assume everyone is as disgusting as you.”

”You dare call me disgusting? Who the hell do you think you are!”

”I’m a nobody, so can the Eldest Young Master Blackwood and his family please just leave me alone?”

Ivy Sherwood was truly exhausted and had no desire to argue with Silas Blackwood.

”You...”

”Silas.” Anna Nash tugged on Silas Blackwood’s arm. ”Silas, don’t lower yourself to her level. Ivy is a big celebrity these days. She’s all over the internet, not like she was before.”

Anna Nash’s tone was dripping with sarcasm.

Ivy Sherwood looked at her, her eyes cold but piercingly sharp.

”If I took your picture right now and posted it with the caption, ’Ms. Nash and Mr. Blackwood getting a room late at night,’ you’d be famous too.”
