Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

Thea Sherwood: I was also shocked to hear this news. I used to manage the company’s perfumery department, but I had no real power. And just a few days ago, my half-sister, Ivy Sherwood, led the charge to push me out of the company and steal my position. I know nothing about the alleged plagiarism or excessive chemicals. Once I’ve investigated thoroughly, I will be sure to give everyone a full account.

As a result, many people started to believe Thea Sherwood and began bashing Ivy Sherwood.

”I knew Thea would never do something like this! She’s a genius, why would she need to?”

”That Ivy Sherwood girl, how dare you make our Thea take the fall for you? Have you no conscience?”

”Our precious Thea is being bullied, and it breaks my heart. It’s a shame I’m not by her side, otherwise, I’d kill you, Ivy Sherwood!”

Thea Sherwood had a huge following on social media. She often posted photos and shared snippets of her life, so everyone knew what she looked like. Many found her beautiful, doting on her, calling her their ”precious,” and fiercely defending her.

Another comment under Thea Sherwood’s post read: ”So, Thea, if this has nothing to do with you, could it be that your sister did it just to frame you?”

Thea Sherwood replied, ”I don’t know... Even though my sister has never liked me, even when we were kids, I’ve always thought of her as a real sister.”

Thea Sherwood’s reply fanned the flames, and even more people began to attack Ivy Sherwood.

”My family is the same way. My mom remarried and brought me with her, and my so-called stepsister bullies me every day. I have absolutely no standing at home.”

”I feel so bad for our precious Thea. To think she’s been suffering so much injustice all this time.”

Nina Scott was so angry she nearly slammed her fist on the table. ”This is infuriating! That damn green tea bitch!”

”Does she have no shame? How could she say something like that? ’Thought of you as a real sister?’ Would a real sister steal your room the moment she arrived and make you live in the servants’ quarters? Would a real sister’s family go on vacation, give the staff the day off, and lock you in the house for days without food, only to claim they ’accidentally forgot’?”

”If she were in front of me, I’d beat her so badly her own mother wouldn’t recognize her!”

”Nina, it’s not worth getting angry over this. Besides, the angrier we get, the more smug Thea Sherwood will be.”

”But I can’t just stand by and watch her twist the truth like this,” Nina said, filled with righteous anger.

In response to Thea Sherwood’s slander, Ivy Sherwood contacted her lawyer directly. For one thing, she had only been in the perfumery department for a few days—how could she possibly have orchestrated something so major?

Furthermore, during her time as the perfumery department manager at the Sherwood Company, Ivy had looked through the old files. Every single perfume approved for market release bore Thea Sherwood’s handwritten signature. If Thea claimed to be unaware, then how could she explain the signatures?

Thea Sherwood’s camp claimed she was too busy to carefully review her subordinates’ submissions, once again shifting all the blame onto them.

As for the plagiarism, Thea Sherwood flatly denied it, claiming the work was from her own inspiration. Reading between the lines, her message was clear: how could someone as famous as her possibly resort to plagiarism?

On top of that, Thea Sherwood took another passive-aggressive jab at Ivy, suggesting that Ivy had hired someone to frame her. She insinuated that Ivy knew nothing about perfumery and questioned what right she had to be the department manager.

She even planted stories, with people posing as inside sources, claiming Ivy Sherwood had landed the Walker Group contract by sleeping with its president. The rumors stated they had been seen at hotels and private clubs, their relationship was improper, and President Walker was a married man.

When Anna Nash saw this news, she was naturally ecstatic. She even used a sock puppet account to post that Ivy Sherwood had a fiancé, which meant she was cheating.

Cheating, being the other woman, having an extramarital affair—in the eyes of most people, these were all signs of moral corruption and warped values, things that were utterly appalling.

All at once, a relentless flood of insults poured in.

Anna Nash made a point to show the comments to Silas Blackwood. For the past two days, Silas had been searching for that other woman as if he were possessed.

Anna had been extremely worried at first, but after a long search yielded no leads, she could finally breathe a little easier. Still, she considered the woman a threat.

”Silas, look at Ivy Sherwood. She’s making such a huge mess, completely embarrassing the Blackwood family,” Anna Nash murmured in his ear.

The mere mention of Ivy Sherwood’s name annoyed Silas. ”Don’t talk to me about her. If she gets buried in insults, it’s what she deserves!”

Ivy Sherwood was now utterly isolated and helpless. She posted a clarification on her social media, but no one believed her. They only believed the version of the truth they had constructed for themselves.

Besides the storm of insults online, in her personal life, both Silas Blackwood and Timothy Sherwood called her countless times.

In front of the media, Timothy Sherwood even said he had no such daughter.

Quentin Blackwood wasn’t one for the internet, so he was unaware of what was happening online.

It wasn’t until Julian Grant called him. ”Master Blackwood, Master Blackwood! Is your little lover doing all right?”

”Little lover?”

”You know, your nephew’s wife! I saw how many people are bashing her online. Those netizens are truly vicious. Is she okay?”

Julian Grant had seen the news and immediately called Quentin Blackwood.

Those people’s insults were filthy. Even he, a grown man, found them too harsh, let alone a young woman being on the receiving end.

This was cyberbullying. Someone more fragile might even be driven to suicide.

”What happened?” Quentin Blackwood’s voice turned cold.

Julian Grant was surprised that Quentin Blackwood didn’t know about it, so he quickly explained the whole situation.

The rumors about Ivy Sherwood and Gabriel Walker at the club and the hotel were complete nonsense. He had been there, so he knew that better than anyone.

”The poor girl must be heartbroken right now. It’ll be bad if she’s too fragile. What if she gets depressed or does something rash...”

Before Julian Grant could finish, Quentin Blackwood hung up on him.

’What was that Julian just mentioned? Weibo?’

While his company was always at the cutting edge of modern development, Quentin Blackwood was the sole person in it who was hopelessly behind the times. He followed financial news, but beyond that, he never paid attention to any other kind.

He rarely went online, let alone had the app Julian Grant was talking about.

Quentin Blackwood downloaded the app. He opened it, browsed for a moment, and then searched for Ivy Sherwood’s name. What he found was an overwhelming flood of viciousness—a deluge of the world’s malice directed at her.

The more Quentin Blackwood read, the tighter his brow furrowed.
