Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 1122, Not Even Ten Percent of His Full Strength

Translator: Silavin

Yei Xiu’s bisected body tumbled down from mid-air. Xiao Ye opened her maw, and Dragon Breath erupted out, enveloping the lower half of Yei Xiu’s torso and reducing it to ash in an instant.

As for the upper half, Yei Xiu struggled desperately to push himself upright. At the same time, the Ancient God Power within him surged continuously outward, attempting to tend to his injuries and restore him to his former state.

However, at that very moment, Lu Fan disengaged from his Riding State, launching a midair thrust downward with his spear, and pinned Yei Xiu savagely to the ground.

Accompanied by a soft, wet *thud*, Refined Undefiled drove clean through Yei Xiu’s chest, shattering his heart into pieces in the same stroke.

Had it been an ordinary Player who suffered such grievous Damage, it would have resulted in immediate death.

Yet Lu Fan could see plainly that Yei Xiu’s Ancient God Power had long since elevated him beyond the boundaries of what a Human ought to be. Even with his heart destroyed, he was still surviving.

Still, the heart was nonetheless one of his vital points. Having it pierced clean through was, by any measure, no small wound for Yei Xiu to endure.

And as if to prove it, as Lu Fan’s thrust drove Yei Xiu into the ground, the outflow of his Ancient God Power was visibly impeded. It was no longer the Heaven Defying power it once was, capable of mending any wound he sustained.

The Ancient God Power converged upon Yei Xiu’s heart, serving two simultaneous purposes: sustaining the circulation of blood throughout his body to keep death at bay, and working to expel Refined Undefiled as a foreign object, so as to prevent it from inflicting further Damage.

Unfortunately, could Ancient God Power really expel Lu Fan’s Refined Undefiled so easily?

Within the shaft of the spear resided a thread of Ancient God Power that Lu Fan had left behind, and that Power ground ceaselessly against the Ancient God Power within Yei Xiu, obstructing any attempt at restoration.

With the two forces locked in this mutual attrition, this ensured Yei Xiu would not perish and ensured he could not slip free of Lu Fan’s control. This left him with no choice but to lie there, pinned to the earth by Refined Undefiled.

Having landed his strike, Lu Fan made no move to press the attack. Instead, he lowered his gaze to Yei Xiu. There was only half a body left, sprawled on the ground. Lu Fan smiled, “Well then. Do you yield?”

Blood continued to pour freely from the corners of Yei Xiu’s mouth, yet his life was in no immediate danger.

He bared his teeth in a pained grin and gave a small nod. “You are very strong. No, exceedingly strong, I should say. I truly had never imagined that there exists a person in this world who can possess such power. The pressure you exert upon me is no lesser than that of Sacred Master Jiang.”

With that, he coughed twice and brought up several more mouthfuls of blood.

Only then did he speak again, his voice measured and slow. “I can sense Ancient God Power flowing within you. Are you also someone who serves beneath an Ancient God?”

Lu Fan smiled, saying nothing.

All at once, Yei Xiu seemed to seize upon something, and he recoiled with a sharp intake of breath. “Or could it be that you yourself are an Ancient God?!”

Lu Fan gave a single nod. “You got it. I hold a Divine Seat.”

“No wonder…” Yei Xiu’s shock faded into comprehension. “No wonder you are this strong. It now makes sense why I am no match for you. I kept telling myself, how could there possibly exist a Human with such terrifying power in this world? *Ha…*”

Then his expression hardened abruptly, and he spat through gritted teeth, “If you did not possess a Divine Seat, how could I possibly have been no match for you!? In this world, I ought to be unrivalled!”

Lu Fan laughed and shook his head repeatedly.

Because he had come to realise that Yei Xiu appeared to carry the spirit of a ‘protagonist’. It was just that this ‘protagonist’ lacked the fortune to back it up.

In theory, at his level of strength, he did indeed have few peers to contend against him. Short of some monstrous genius, calling him undefeated within his tier would not be an exaggeration.

After all, even Jin Zhan would absolutely be no match for him.

Yet to believe that made him invincible, that was a grave miscalculation.

For as long as Lu Fan existed, no one could claim to be undefeatable.

Seeing the mockery written plainly across Lu Fan’s face, Yei Xiu’s expression soured at once. “What are you laughing at?” he said coldly.

Lu Fan replied with candid amusement, “I am laughing at your complete ignorance of how vast Heaven truly is. Do you genuinely believe you lost to me because I can use Ancient God Power? You know, aside from using this spear to seal away your Ancient God Power, I have not drawn upon a single trace of my own Ancient God Power.”

“In other words,” Lu Fan delivered the killing blow to whatever pride Yei Xiu had left, “even if you possessed Ancient God Power and I did not hold my Divine Seat, I would still be able to thrash you with ease. With your current strength, winning against you does not even require me to draw on ten percent of my full strength.”

As his words fell, Lu Fan raised a hand and swept it lazily through the air. In an instant, several Summoning Arrays materialised before them.

From within each Array rose a Dragon Roar, every single cry terrible in its resonance, none of them a whisker weaker than Xiao Ye.

At this, forget Yei Xiu, even the members of the Situ Family standing nearby had fear written plainly across their faces. How did Lu Fan possess so many Pet Dragons!?

What a single Giant Dragon was capable of, everyone present had witnessed it with their own eyes.

This one Black Dragon had thrashed Yei Xiu. All Yei Xiu could do was flee.

And yet Lu Fan had this many of them. It was simply absurd…

If all his Pet Dragons were summoned at once, would Yei Xiu truly be left without the slightest means to fight back?

The fact that he had called forth only two Giant Dragons to deal with Yei Xiu was nothing short of the most generous of concessions.

In that single moment, whatever last shreds of Yei Xiu’s pride were ground to dust.

The gulf in power between him and Lu Fan was not solely a matter of Lu Fan’s Divine Seat.

Even if one could give him two Divine Seats, he would likely still be no match for Lu Fan…

“Enough. All of this pointless talk serves no purpose.” Lu Fan crouched down and patted Yei Xiu’s face. “Now, let us get to the main topic. You are now in my hands. Without my consent, you will not even get the opportunity to die. As my captive, I will ask you to tell me where exactly the Sacred Jiang Family and the Slaughter Ancient God are. If you tell me, I can spare your life and let you go free.”

Lu Fan had barely finished speaking when Situ Xiong, not far away, had a complex expression settle across his face.

He naturally wished to kill Yei Xiu to avenge his Older Brother, Situ Ying.

However, Yei Xiu had been captured by Lu Fan. Without Lu Fan, the Situ Family might already have become a bloody-filled cemetery.

What right did the Situ Family have in how Yei Xiu should be dealt with?

If Lu Fan wished to release Yei Xiu, then he could only accept it.

However, Yei Xiu had no intention of cooperating.

He burst into long, rolling laughter, and when it finally subsided, he said, “Even if you can defeat me, I will never tell you the location of the Sacred Jiang Family. I am a man who has already died once. There is nothing you can do that threatens me.”
