Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 1118, Right, I’ve Had My Fun

Translator: Silavin

“I’m going to kill you!” Situ Xiong’s rage erupted like a storm, his reasoning was completely consumed.

He lunged at Yei Xiu with his sword, and the Sword Qis that poured from his body took on a physical form as it blazed outward in every direction.

These arcs of Sword Qis were not merely impressive to look at. Each one carried true killing power.

As the Sword Qis swept outward in every direction, they carved groove after groove into the ground itself.

And should be noted that the ground of the Situ Family Residence was not laid with ordinary stone or brick, but High Grade materials.

The Sword Qis alone, from the mere casting of a Skill, could leave marks on such materials already spoke of how exceptionally powerful they were.

A typical Fourth Profession Player would be hard-pressed to take the Sword Qis head-on. They would be forced to evade.

Yet this was not even the full Effect of Situ Xiong’s Skill.

The Skill’s true Effect lay in what it did to his Attributes and Combat Power.

As each arc of Sword Qi blazed outward, Situ Xiong’s power nearly doubled.

Activating this Skill placed an enormous drain on his Stamina. With repeated use, it would even erode his lifespan. There was simply no escaping this cost.

But he thought nothing of it. Situ Xiong’s mind was completely consumed by rage. He could not afford to think of anything else.

He knew full well his power fell short of Situ Ying, and Situ Ying had already died at this man’s hands. If he was unwilling to pay some price, how could he possibly slay the man before him and avenge his Older Brother!?

Arc after arc of Sword Qis blazed outward, crashing against Yei Xiu, only to be dissolved by the flames covering his body. They were incapable of inflicting any Damage whatsoever.

Situ Xiong charged in, his sword sweeping out in a mighty strike, driving a massive blade of Sword Qi toward Yei Xiu’s head.

Yei Xiu smiled contemptuously and opened his palm.

In his hand, the flame burned fierce and wild, like a bracer forged from fire itself.

*Clang!*

With a tremendous ring, sparks flew in all directions. Yei Xiu effortlessly intercepted Situ Xiong’s attack using nothing more than the flame in his hand.

Situ Xiong saw his strike had been blocked, and that Yei Xiu had not retreated so much as half a step. He understood in that instant the enormous gulf in power that separated them.

His eyes went round like plates. However, not a trace of fear or hesitation entered them. Instead, he let out a low battle cry and pressed on with his sword, each strike sharper than the last, launching a relentless assault on Yei Xiu.

Yei Xiu used his hand as his weapon, meeting Situ Xiong’s attacks one after another using only the flame in his palm, his bearing entirely unhurried.

“So this is the Situ Family’s power? Your strength is barely a step above your Older Brother’s, and what’s more…” Yei Xiu’s words were left hanging as a violent eruption of flame burst from his body.

The blazing fire sent Situ Xiong flying. At the same time, the flames clung to Situ Xiong like a tenacious parasite, igniting across his body. Though they inflicted little in terms of direct Damage. What they did was strip away every active Buff from him, causing his Attributes to plummet.

Situ Hengxing narrowed his eyes, leapt upward with great agility, and caught Situ Xiong before landing smoothly.

Situ Xiong wanted to charge into battle again, only to discover that the Enhancement Skills on his body could no longer be activated.

Clearly, Yei Xiu’s Skill had stripped away a significant portion of his Buffs, and sealed the Skills themselves, preventing them from being casted again.

Yei Xiu was not in any rush to continue attacking. He resumed what he had been saying. “And furthermore, without that Skill, you’re not even his equal.”

“If the Situ Family’s finest are only at this level, then all of you would do well to take a moment and consider what final words you might have left to say to the people around you. Though, I would suggest not taking too long, because I don’t have much time to spare waiting for you.”

As he spoke, he opened his palm once more.

In his hand, a sphere of flame burned with terrible intensity. It soon contracted and compressed down into a single ember.

Then, it blazed outward again, only to be compressed once more into a slender thread of fire.

The cycle repeated itself, without pause or end.

Situ Hengxing watched, and cold sweat began to trace a path down his brow.

He could sense what the man was doing. He was continuously compressing his Skill, stacking its power.

Though the flame in Yei Xiu’s palm at no point seemed to exceed the size of a fist from beginning to end, the true destructive potential of that Skill was rising with every passing cycle, accumulating without stopping.

If this continued, the flame in Yei Xiu’s palm would very likely be capable of levelling the entire Situ Family Residence flat.

“You are no match for him. Stay back and support me from behind as I attack!” Situ Hengxing issued orders to Situ Xiong, then launched himself forward, closing in on Yei Xiu.

Yei Xiu could tell Situ Hengxing was the most powerful expert present. The mockery in his expression did not lessen though. However, inwardly, he had taken the man seriously.

The continuously compressing, stacking Skill in his palm did not cease. With his other hand, he conjured a longsword of flame and traded blows directly with Situ Hengxing.

With one hand occupied by stacking the Skill and his enemy, Situ Hengxing, having deeply steeped in the Sword Dao over many years… in terms of how skilled one wielded the sword, it was undoubtedly Situ Hengxing who held the advantage.

Yet Yei Xiu’s Skills were overwhelming. They completely dominated. Each time Situ Hengxing was on the verge of landing a blow, Yei Xiu would invariably produce an explosive burst of flame from his body, forcing Situ Hengxing to fall back.

Situ Hengxing’s assault was relentless and razor-sharp, yet he could not finish Yei Xiu off. He could only watch as the flame in his opponent’s palm grew denser and more solid, until at last, it had compressed into a perfect sphere.

Now, it was blazing with a radiance like that of the Sun itself.

Finally, Yei Xiu ceased compressing his Skill. He casually flicked a hand outward, and a vast swath of flame drove Situ Hengxing back.

Wreathed entirely in fire, he launched himself skyward. And, like a God of Fire, he seemed to look down upon all living beings.

“Enough, I’ve had my fun!” Yei Xiu raised the sphere of light high, letting it drift upward slowly.

“Now, it is time for your Situ Family to turn to ash!” With that, he hurled the sphere of light downward.

It descended slowly. So slowly that anyone could track its arc with ease, and so slowly that intervention was not, in theory, impossible.

But the first to act was Situ Xiong. He sent a blade of Sword Qi slashing toward it, only to find that the Sword Qi had vanished before it even reached the sphere.

The temperature emanating from that sphere was beyond anything he could comprehend. Ordinary Skills and attacks simply could not get close to it.

“We can’t stop it!” Situ Xiong went pale with shock and turned to look at Situ Hengxing, the Ancestor.

The latter’s expression was equally grave. He too did not know what else they could do.

Situ Hengxing knew in his heart that even he could not prevent this sphere from crashing down upon the Situ Family, reducing the entire Residence to ash.

Yet after a brief silence, Situ Hengxing smiled.

“Fortunately, our Situ Family is blessed with good fortune today…”

“What!?”

Yei Xiu saw his opponent smile in the face of this, and his brow furrowed at once.

[The Situ Family is blessed with good fortune? What on earth does he mean!? Has this old man lost his mind!?]

Just as Yei Xiu stood perplexed, a clear, resonant Dragon Roar rang out from close by.
