Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 666, Fire Dragon Scales

As the Life Dragon King entered slumber, Lu Fan also turned his attention to the Two-Headed Dragon and the others.

Since the Life Dragon King had already become a Territory Monster of Shadow Isle, these four Dragons would be no exception. After all, they could not possibly abandon their Mother and venture out to establish themselves as rulers elsewhere. That would not make any sense.

Seemingly sensing Lu Fan’s gaze, the four Dragons appeared rather relaxed and cheerful. The Two-Headed Dragon even grinned and said. “Dragon Tamer, don’t look at us like that. You should know what choice we’ll make. With Mother staying here, how could we possibly leave?”

The Flame Dragon added from the side, “Actually, speaking honestly, I really do quite fancy this place. I’m actually quite a lazy Dragon. Rather than going out again to find another suitable place to build a nest, staying here is quite a decent choice. What do you all think?”

The other Giant Dragons all nodded in agreement.

It appeared that ever since they had arrived here, they had taken quite a liking to Shadow Isle. Now, with the Life Dragon King taking root here, they could finally settle down and build their nests, living the same sort of life they had enjoyed back in the Valley of Life.

The Wind Dragon suddenly spoke up. “Right, we shouldn’t just be celebrating. We haven’t given the Dragon Tamer his Reward yet.”

“Yes, yes, yes.” The other Giant Dragons all came to their senses and began presenting Lu Fan with his Mission Rewards.

As the Missions in Lu Fan’s Mission Panel were marked as ‘Mission Complete’ one by one, Dragon after Dragon appeared on his Territory Management Panel as Territory Monsters. Their Attributes were all uniformly displayed as ‘???’. They were completely beyond Lu Fan’s ability to inspect.

However, Lu Fan could discern that they were all Eternal Phase Giant Dragons. They were undoubtedly absurdly powerful.

Not only had they become Territory Monsters, but four points of light emerged from the four Giant Dragons’ bodies, separating and flying towards Lu Fan. Lu Fan recognised these as the Rewards from them, so he reached out to catch them.

Brushing away the radiance with his hand, Lu Fan discovered these were four palm-sized Dragon Scales.

Fire Dragon Scale (Epic Grade Item)
Effect: Upon use, summons the Eternal Phase Giant Dragon, Flame, to assist in battle for ten minutes. Current Usage Count: (1/1)

It was actually a consumable item, and its function was to directly summon the Fire Dragon to battle.

The other items were identical, differing only in which Giant Dragon they summoned.

The Two-Headed Dragon scratched his head sheepishly. “This is the Reward we’re giving you. These scales are very special. When you use them, you can summon a Transport Array that allows us to descend. But, while we are Eternal Phase Giant Dragons, we’re ultimately not Space Dragons. Our mastery over Space Principles isn’t that formidable.”

“What we can achieve is merely temporarily altering Space for a brief descent of ten minutes. Moreover, each scale can only be used once. With our strength, we believe ten minutes should be enough to help you resolve many troubles. So, keep these four scales for now. If you use them up, you can ask us for more. That’s no problem.”

[So despite these scales being consumable items, they are offering unlimited refills!? Amazing!]

Lu Fan had witnessed the might of these Eternal Phase Giant Dragons firsthand. Previously, the monster formed by four Dragon Carcasses had been instantly killed by the Fire Dragon with a single Skill. He believed even Divine Beings would be torn apart by a single Giant Dragon.

Now, Lu Fan held four Dragon Scales in his hands, capable of summoning up to four Eternal Phase Giant Dragons to assist him in battle.

Essentially, this declared Lu Fan was invincible.

Fifth Profession Players? Sorry, but now he might not even regard Sixth Profession Players as worthy of his attention.

How could Lu Fan possibly be dissatisfied with such a Reward? After all, it was equivalent to gaining four additional Pet Dragons to assist him, and they were Eternal Phase Giant Dragons at that!

Actually, Lu Fan could have had Xiao Cui devour these four Dragon Scales, making the summoning of the four great Eternal Phase Giant Dragons a permanent Skill.

However, after some consideration, Lu Fan chose not to do so.

Since unlimited refills were possible, it was essentially equivalent to having indestructible items. Having Xiao Cui consume these Dragon Scales would inevitably show disrespect to the four Giant Dragons, making Lu Fan appear to be greedy.

Therefore, Lu Fan simply pocketed the four Dragon Scales and expressed his gratitude to the four Giant Dragons.

With this, all Mission Rewards had been completely distributed, and the four Giant Dragons had officially taken residence on Shadow Isle.

The four were thoroughly satisfied with their new home. After presenting Lu Fan with his Rewards, they eagerly rose and flew out, heading in different directions to find places they fancied to build their nests, officially becoming permanent residents here.

Eventually, all four Giant Dragons had departed, seeking out their new homes.

The area fell quiet, leaving only the Life Dragon King, now completely transformed into a great tree, and Lu Fan with his abundant harvest.

Lu Fan organised his gains from this Dragon Domain expedition, then planned to find time to return to the Western Border to deliver the Life Fruit to the Starry Sky Ancestor.

Upon completing this Mission, all of Xing Chen’s Skills would be enhanced to Max Level, which should only be achievable by Eternal Phase Giant Dragons. Her strength would undoubtedly reach new heights, undergoing a qualitative transformation!

Just then, the Devouring Dragon King’s voice resonated in Lu Fan’s min.: “Seeing you so delighted, it seems your Dragon Domain expedition yielded considerable gains!”

Lu Fan startled, then instinctively glanced towards the nearby Life Dragon King.

The Devouring Dragon King’s voice transmitted again. “Don’t worry, she’s fallen into a deep slumber. I’m merely communicating with you through our spiritual connection. She won’t be able to detect me. As long as I don’t personally descend here, no one will know we’ve signed a contract.”

Hearing this, Lu Fan breathed a sigh of relief. “That’s good then. Ah, speaking of this, I actually do feel rather guilty about deceiving them.”

The Devouring Dragon King chuckled. “What’s there to feel guilty about? Don’t worry. When our contract is eventually fulfilled, I’ll naturally depart from you. At that time, I’ll assume a new identity and abandon my true name. I won’t let our deal get exposed. After all, signing a contract with a Human is already shameful enough for me.”

At this point, the Devouring Dragon King seemed to sense the four Dragon Scales in Lu Fan’s possession.

She continued with a laugh. “But I must say, your relationship with these Giant Dragons is quite remarkable. They’re actually willing to personally accept summons to assist you in battle.”
