Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 661, Compensation Shall Be Discussed Later

Translator: Silavin

The Bronze Dragon blinked his eyes, looking at his companions with disbelief. “Does this mean we can actually leave this place?”

The Two Headed Dragon nodded. “That should be the case. Although I am somewhat reluctant to leave the Valley of Life, now that the Valley of Life has been invaded and conquered by those foul creatures, there’s nothing left here worth remaining for. I’m already content with being able to escape from this place together with Mother.”

The Bronze Dragon looked at the Two Headed Dragon, then at Lu Fan, his tone rather awkward. “I admit, perhaps my voice was a bit loud earlier… I just truly never imagined that you, a Human, could actually possess so many Giant Dragons as Pet Dragons…”

Seeing such a massive creature speaking to him so cautiously, Lu Fan could not help but laugh.

He chuckled. “You have no vendetta against me, and earlier in the Valley of Life, you even wanted to rescue me. I am a Dragon Tamer, so theoretically, I should be good friends with the Dragon Race. So, considering everything, since you’re trapped here, helping you is only natural for me. More importantly, I have two Missions that both require me to find the Life Dragon King for completion. Even just for the Rewards of these two Missions, I need to find a way to help you all, don’t I?”

“Two Missions?” The Flame Dragon was puzzled. “Apart from the commission from that Rootless Dragon, what other Mission do you need to deliver to Mother?”

Lu Fan thought for a moment. “Well… I’ll explain it in detail later. It’s rather complicated to explain right now. Let’s first figure out how to rescue you all from here.”

The Giant Dragons had no objections.

Lu Fan was decisive, directly instructing Xing Chen to release the Skill, Starry Space Passage, and then even set up a Transfer Array leading to Shadow Isle behind the Starry Space Passage exit.

The two merged together, directly forming a path of survival that could lead to escape from anywhere.

“Done!” Lu Fan’s heart leaped with joy as he saw that the Life Dragon King was indeed correct.

Besides being able to rescue these Giant Dragons, this escape method also gave Lu Fan a guarantee of escape if he could not win a fight.

If the Life Dragon King had not mentioned it, Lu Fan would probably have needed a long time to figure this out on his own.

To allow these Giant Dragons to leave from here, Lu Fan opened the entrance to the Starry Space Passage and the Transfer Array extremely wide, so that even massive creatures like the Bronze Dragon could easily pass through.

After Lu Fan had prepared everything, he said to all the Giant Dragons. “Now, everyone can leave with me. Behind this entrance is my Territory, where it’s absolutely safe.”

All the Giant Dragons looked at each other, and the Two Headed Dragon, being an existence second only to the Life Dragon King in status, took the initiative to say, “Thank you, Dragon Tamer. Previously, we had some prejudice against a Human with your Profession. We now sincerely apologise to you.”

Lu Fan was magnanimous. “It’s alright, I understand. After all, if a ‘Human Taming Dragon’ appeared amongst the Dragon Race, I’d also feel uncomfortable.”

“But I’d like to add that although I am a Dragon Tamer, each of my Pet Dragons is like Family to me. In my eyes, they are neither my servants, nor beings of a higher class than me. Both of us are equal. We help each other out and are partners.”

“Yes, partners!” The Two Headed Dragon and other Giant Dragons nodded one after another, clearly finding Lu Fan’s words quite reasonable.

Perhaps they originally viewed the Human Race as inferior to Dragons, but now they had to regard Lu Fan as an existence on the same level as themselves.

“Thank you for your life-saving grace!” The Wind Dragon said sincerely, “We will definitely give you the appropriate compensation for rescuing us.”

As those words fell, Lu Fan felt his Mission Panel change. He actually gained another Mission.

Mission: Rescue Wind Dragon Kefir from the Crystal Barrier
Difficulty: Epic Grade

Time Limit: Before the Crystal Barrier collapses

Content: Rescue Wind Dragon Kefir from the Crystal Barrier and bring her to a safe place.

Reward: Unknown.

Seeming to notice that Lu Fan had detected the change in his Mission Panel, Wind Dragon Kefir said, “This counts as a promise. If you rescue us, I will give you generous compensation as a Reward. But I haven’t thought of exactly what to give you yet. Later, you can state some conditions yourself. As long as I can fulfil it, I will do so.”

Seeing this, the other Giant Dragons also used their abilities to issue Missions to Lu Fan. The missions were basically the same, as long as Lu Fan could take them away from the Crystal Barrier, the Missions would be considered complete.

As for Rewards, they were uniformly ‘Unknown’.

[To think I could actually negotiate conditions here before rescuing all the Giant Dragons.]

However, he did not do so. He could see that although the Giant Dragons were intelligent, having always lived in the Valley of Life, their hearts were very pure. They did not scheme or calculate against him.

Scheming against them would do more harm than good. For such people, being completely honest was better. He would more easily gain their favour and thus obtain more things.

Lu Fan already had some ideas of what he wanted as his Rewards, but now was not the time to discuss these things.

Lu Fan smiled and nodded. “I appreciate everyone’s goodwill. As for the Mission Rewards, we’ll discuss them properly once we reach a safe place. Right now, let’s quickly leave this place. Didn’t you say that maintaining this Crystal Barrier requires tremendous Life Force? We’d better leave as soon as possible.”

The Giant Dragons all agreed.

Lu Fan took the lead, entering the Transfer Array first.

After experiencing a pulling sensation, Lu Fan returned to Shadow Isle.

What he had not expected was that upon arriving at Shadow Isle, he saw Han Ke standing in front of the Transfer Array, carrying large and small packages.

She must have come to supply the Shadow Fortress on Shadow Isle with materials, only to see a Transfer Array suddenly activate.

“Xiao Fan, is it really you? Why did you open another Transfer Array leading here? Have you finished dealing with matters at the Western Border?” Han Ke approached, asking with confusion.

Lu Fan smiled. “It is a long story. Auntie. For now, please step aside. There are several big guys coming through from behind me.”

“Big guys? What big guys? Wait, they are Giant Dragons!?” Han Ke was originally about to ask more questions, but then saw a massive Bronze Dragon head emerge from the Transfer Array, surveying everything here. It immediately startled her.
