Chapter 170 – 137: Is There Such a Good Thing? (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_2

Additionally, various high-quality, smelted metal ingots were stacked on the ground.

Seeing Lord Reine walk over to the shelf where special ores were displayed, seemingly attracted by the ores in front of him, filled Snell with pride and joy.

These special ores had been slowly collected through industry connections he had commissioned.

Some were even rarely seen in auction houses.

Seeing Lord Reine pick up an ore and examine it intently, Snell felt a sense of validation!

That what he valued was also valued by others.

If his initial introductions were more out of courtesy to a guest, his introductions at this moment were heartfelt:

“Lord Reine, this is Star Iron. It possesses excellent hardness and toughness and is an excellent material for sharp weapons, suitable for crafting various daggers, longswords, or dual-handed greatswords.”

“This is Fire Rock ore, found around the fiery rims of volcanoes, extremely rare …”

“This is Bloodstone ore…”

Snell, who held the title of Armorsmith from the Blacksmiths Association and whose knowledge in forging far exceeded that of the town blacksmith Boris, continued his introduction. System prompts appeared in quick succession, flooding the screen:

…

Here it comes! It’s here!

Instantly, Lord Reine’s smile grew even brighter!

His purpose for attending the dinner at Habsburg Manor had been partially fulfilled.

Suddenly, fragmented memories about these special ores filled Lord Reine’s mind, as if he had been studying these ores for months, making him quite familiar with their properties.

Not long after Lord Reine had fully assimilated these fragmented memories, system prompts came through again:

…

[Congratulations, your Ore Identification skill has advanced to lv3]

This …

Just after absorbing and assimilating the fragmented memories in his mind, more fragmented memories about ore identification followed.

This truly made Lord Reine experience what it’s like to ‘gain more by listening to a wise man’s word than reading books for ten years!’

Looking at these dazzling special ores, Lord Reine felt as if he had discovered a gold mine.

Lord Reine thought of the Church of Black Flame’s strange black flames and the immensely high temperature damage.

He also noticed that several of the special ores were materials resistant to high temperatures.

After a moment’s thought, Lord Reine felt that if he could prepare a set of heat-resistant knight’s plate armor for the eventual battle, he would probably have an advantage against the sorcery attacks of the Church of the Black Flame!

Unfortunately, the prices of these ores were indeed too expensive.

It seemed he would need to hurry to make money!

Moreover, given Lord Reine’s superficial knowledge of metals from his previous life, he realized that this world’s research into alloys was still at a very primitive level.

He had initially thought it was because the blacksmiths he met were not skilled enough, but even Snell, a master armorer, had only a superficial experience with alloys and no systematic research.

An alloy is a substance with metallic properties, synthesized by certain methods from two or more metals or metals and nonmetals.

For example, bronze, a typical metal-metal alloy, consists of copper and tin in certain proportions, with variations in ratio greatly affecting the alloy’s properties.

Lord Reine felt he had grasped the thread of a complex mystery, facing these extraordinary special ores which were truly a gold mine, but it was a massive undertaking, not the right time to embark on this work.

After Snell had finished introducing all the special ores, Lord Reine checked his Blacksmith profession panel and saw that his Blacksmith had advanced to lv3 (112/500) and Ore Identification to lv3 (27/500).

That accelerated like a rocket!

For Snell, seeing Lord Reine’s expressions alternating between eager curiosity and deep contemplative stupor was very enjoyable.

Although he still did not know to what extent this stranger and young Lord Reine was fond of forging, based on his attitude, Snell was very approving.

Therefore, Snell started his introductions with even more zeal.

If Lord Reine knew Snell’s thoughts, he would surely grasp Snell’s hands, shake them vigorously, and exclaim, “Comrade! Let’s strive for the craft of forging for life!”

After finishing the introductions of the ores on the shelves, Snell started introducing the neatly stacked metal ingots nearby.

“…”

“This is Blood Pattern Steel ingot, forged by mixing a certain proportion of Bloodstone ore with iron. It has high strength and toughness, suitable for forging blunt weapons.”

Hey! Isn’t this the Blood Pattern Steel that Lagaray talked about?

Lord Reine picked up one, which was quite heavy, seemingly only slightly less dense than the Star Iron.

Lord Reine carefully estimated the number of Blood Pattern Steel ingots stacked together; there were more than twenty. Roughly calculating, if he could purchase half, that should be sufficient for forging his warhammer.

“Master Snell, could you sell me some of these Blood Pattern Steel ingots?” Lord Reine interjected during Snell’s introduction.
