Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 364: Chapter 267: Crushed

The scarlet blood moon hung high, pouring down its foul, viscous light. The sea’s surface no longer reflected the moonlight, but greedily sucked in the crimson, transforming into a writhing, boiling patch of blood.

Each sluggish crest of the waves was clotted with a dark light like coagulated blood. As they rolled, they produced a thick, slick sound, like the slow squelching of an organism’s innards.

Floating specks of scarlet light twisted and stretched across the pitch-black water, like pus leaking from the surface of a giant, decaying creature, or like the countless bloodshot, inhuman eyes of the drowned dead opening to silently spy upon the world.

The moonlight seemed to possess substance and malice, pressing down heavily on the sea. It used the scarlet, dead water as a medium to transmit the bone-chilling, indescribable whispers of some immense, unnamable thing writhing in the Deep Sea below.

Bathed in the bloody moonlight, Isaac, who had been rushing forward, was inevitably forced to a halt. It was as difficult as walking through a mire. More importantly, the moonlight seemed to come alive, desperately trying to bore into his body, radiate his Magic Power, and mutate his flesh. It was even accompanied by faint, almost inaudible whispers that trickled into his mind.

It wanted to inflict a total Corrosion on Isaac—from his Magic Power and body to his very soul!

Unfortunately, although the power contained within the bloody moonlight entered Isaac’s body, it failed to have any effect, vanishing without a trace like a stone sinking into the ocean...

The only effect it had on Isaac was that it solidified Space to a certain degree. Not only was it difficult to cast Space Magic, but even his movements were severely restricted.

”HRAAAGH!!!”

Seeing this, Gallard’s eyes flew wide with disbelief. As the pupils in his eyes dilated, the last vestiges of his sanity completely shattered. He let out a beast-like roar to the heavens as his body rapidly mutated. One by one, eyes erupted from beneath his skin, their scarlet pupils darting about.

His pale skin, a result of spending years in a laboratory, was quickly stained an unholy purplish-black. His entire being looked monstrously aberrant.

Watching the grotesque Gallard, Isaac narrowed his eyes slightly and halted. Wisps of Magic Power floated from his hands, coiled and ready to strike. He would wait and react to whatever came next.

He wouldn’t have to wait long, however. Based on Isaac’s knowledge of the Outer Gods, the nature of their power was extremely volatile. In terms of alignment, the Outer Gods belonged to the Chaotic Evil Faction. They typically acted on whims and loved to cause chaos.

Therefore, these fragments of power, which carried a sliver of the Outer Gods’ will, had also inherited their chaotic nature. Once they had a certain understanding of their surroundings, they would begin to wreak havoc with abandon!

Just like now. The gazes of those scarlet eyes began to converge on Isaac. To them, a Mad Witch—a Mad Witch who had amassed a huge amount of Outer God Power—was an incredibly alluring prize!

’If we can detonate the power in this guy’s body as well, then this time...’

’We might actually be able to descend upon this world again!’

At that moment, the unholy, constantly twisting and mutating lifeform under the blood moon let out a bizarre, ecstatic shriek. Accompanied by this distorted and perverse cry, utterly profane tentacles of Magic Power whipped out towards Isaac!

’Heh, a little interesting. You see me as prey?’ Isaac’s eyes narrowed slightly. Thoughts raced through his mind, and he quickly made a decision. ’Time to take it on!’

Truthfully, at this point, the objective of Isaac’s trip had already been accomplished. In his current state, Gallard had no chance of turning the tables. Above the head of that unholy lifeform, a number that only Isaac could see floated clearly—0%!

If Isaac’s judgment based on his own knowledge could be wrong, then the probability displayed by his Golden Finger was a definitive death sentence for Gallard!

In this state, even Isaac’s Golden Finger, which could increase his margin for error, offered no way to turn him back.

After all, the prerequisite for his Golden Finger to increase the margin for error was that the success rate itself could not be zero!

So, Isaac could have actually disengaged and left. There was no need to deal with this grotesque, foul thing. When the sky falls, the tall ones will hold it up. Besides, this was the Star Sea. Tier Three experts were a dime a dozen, and Tier Four masters were everywhere. You could even spot a few Tier Five powerhouses from time to time. A single, minor abomination like this couldn’t possibly turn the world upside down.

But after a moment’s thought, Isaac still decided to take it on!

The reason was simple. As a Mad Witch, Isaac would sooner or later have to face the state Gallard was in now. Rather than face it in a panic, it was better to use this guy as a practice run. At the very least, he wanted to figure out the full extent of what these Outer God Power fragments could do, and what wondrous changes would occur when the powers of different Outer Gods converged.

Isaac was especially interested in that last point!

At his current level, simply scavenging in the Mysterious Void was no longer enough to satisfy him. As his strength increased, it had slowly become something like a routine chore...

He needed to seek out a bit of a thrill!

With these thoughts in mind, Isaac launched his attack on the abomination that Gallard had become.

Isaac brought his palms together. The Demon Eye on his forehead and the Demon Eye on his Magic Wand, now hovering behind his head, both released an unholy Magic Power. With a soft shout, Isaac pushed his clasped hands forward and apart...

An invisible ripple washed outward. The moment those dark, twisted tentacles touched the invisible wave, they dissolved into countless flower petals and vanished!

Authority of Illusion and Reality!

However, this was only the power of the Demon Eye on Isaac’s forehead. The power he had just unleashed was activated from two Demon Eyes!

As the ripple spread, it wasn’t just the tentacles that dissolved into petals, but also the abomination’s constantly expanding, twisted body. The swelling was both a sign of its ever-growing power and one of its methods for enhancing its defenses.

In other words, at this moment, its armor had been stripped away!

And in the instant that part of its body turned to petals and disappeared, a distorted vortex suddenly appeared, wrenching off one of the abomination’s limbs!

”Hnnh?” The eyes on the abomination’s body looked quizzically at the severed limb, somewhat puzzled. That part of its body hadn’t been completely pulverized, so why had it lost all sensory connection to it?

As time passed, the faint will of the Outer God was gradually overwhelmed by the burgeoning Outer God Power. The abomination was slowly turning into a mindless Demon that knew only destruction!

This was the suppression of the Real World’s laws. Unless it caused enough destruction to the Real World, it was unlikely to attract more of the Outer God’s will and thus regain more of its ability to think.

Therefore, the abomination, which was gradually losing its ability to think, naturally couldn’t recognize the power of the authority contained within this Demon Eye—the Authority of Distortion!
