Chapter 3340: Chapter 3341: The Extra Book

Soon, the Dog Deacon, guided by the passersby, saw the standalone cottage behind the Rabbit Mansion.

It seemed like an ordinary house; if not for the passersby explicitly stating that this was the ”Library,” the Dog Deacon would likely have thought it was a resident’s home.

At least from a distance, it was indeed difficult to detect any aura related to a library.

Even when the Dog Deacon approached the standalone cottage, he still didn’t detect any ”bookish” scent but instead discovered a secret.

The standalone cottage felt unreal to him, much like the various amusement facilities Angel previously created in the dog house.

”Could all these be Illusions?” The Dog Deacon asked in confusion.

The Dog Deacon turned around, wanting an answer from Angel, but Angel remained silent just like before, seemingly determined not to speak.

Seeing Angel’s unwillingness to speak, the Dog Deacon sighed and gave up.

He walked rapidly to the ”Library” entrance.

There was a guard at the entrance, who initially wanted to inquire about identity upon seeing the Dog Deacon. However, upon seeing Angel and Laplace right behind the Dog Deacon, the guard immediately refrained from questioning, opened the large door for the Dog Deacon, and respectfully welcomed them inside.

As the Dog Deacon passed by the guard, he vaguely heard the guard’s whisper: ”Welcome to... the Illusion Technique Library.”

Illusion Technique Library?

The Dog Deacon paused for a moment, an understanding flickering in his eyes.

His feeling was indeed correct; unlike Rabbit Mansion, which was real, this library was merely an Illusion Dream.

And likely the one who created this Illusion Dream was Angel.

Carrying this thought, the Dog Deacon boldly walked into the library.

Externally, one couldn’t sense any bookish aura from the library, but internally it was quite different. There were only three things here: bookshelves, books, and lamps.

Furthermore, not only were the walls made of bookshelves, but even the ceiling chandeliers trailed long strands of rope, with each rope’s end tied to stacks of books, some higher, some lower.

Inside the library, it felt as if being in an ocean of books.

Outside, the Dog Deacon had experienced the powerful illusion technique of Angel, finding it difficult to distinguish reality from illusion. The internal state of the library was similar to the outside; although aware that it was an illusion, everything around felt devoid of any fakeness.

Every bookshelf, every book, seemed intricate and real.

The Dog Deacon casually touched a nearby book, feeling the coldness of the book’s cover at his fingertips and smelling the faint scent of ink from the text.

While the Dog Deacon roamed between the bookshelves, Angel and Laplace stood at the entrance, observing the Dog Deacon’s movements while conversing in low tones.

Laplace: ”We’re just letting him wander around, without interference; can he truly find the Training Dungeon?”

Angel shrugged, spreading his hands: ”I don’t know either. However, his earlier sentiment about ’the world is so big, I want to go see it’ is indeed suspicious. Allowing him to leave voluntarily might be the only option at present.”

Laplace understood the Dog Deacon well; he wasn’t really a dog that was enthusiastic about going out. Suddenly having the desire to travel was quite odd.

However, speaking of which...

”Even if what you said is true, should we really follow him all the time?” Laplace hesitated, thinking that the Crystal Origin of Dreams was vast. If the Dog Deacon truly wanted to explore on foot, it could take decades or even centuries without necessarily finding the border.

Angel pondered: ”Previously, Little Red’s Training Dungeon was located not far from her birthplace. According to this pattern, the Dog Deacon’s instance shouldn’t be too far either. It might just be near Rabbit Town... or possibly even within Rabbit Town.”

Angel’s words prompted Laplace to suddenly have a thought: If the Dog Deacon’s Training Dungeon is indeed within Rabbit Town, could it be inside this library?

The library is considered part of Rabbit Town’s boundary, and it’s also the first target the Dog Deacon went toward after leaving Rabbit Mansion!

Thinking of this, Laplace asked quietly: ”Do you think he came to the library genuinely seeking information, or was it... Fate’s Guidance?”

Fate Guidance? Angel furrowed his brow slightly.

He roughly guessed Laplace’s thoughts, but he didn’t think that idea was correct.

Because the Dog Deacon came here guided by a hint from the new residents, not led by his own ”heart desire.”

Laplace: ”He indeed didn’t actively choose to come to the library himself, but if merely strumming the strings can stir up waves, why swing the straight bat?”

In other words, fate doesn’t have to guide so overtly; it may also indirectly cause ripples through some overlooked elements.

For example, perhaps the guidance from the new residents was a form of indirect power.

Angel didn’t deny Laplace’s guessing. Back when he was arranged by the Book of Destiny, if not for the many coincidences, he wouldn’t have discovered traces of fate at all.

Fate’s power is elusive; it can affect details and even calculate your heart thoughts.

All his presumptions might have been influenced by fate.

With this in mind, Angel mused, ”Let’s wait for a moment; I’ll explore the library.”

In front of Laplace, Angel closed his eyes directly, elevating his consciousness. Instantly, his visual perspective shifted from bare eyes to a God’s View.

This elevated consciousness granted Angel nearly 360-degree unobstructed investigation capabilities.

Using God’s View for observation, Angel began to explore the library’s myriad objects inch by inch.

A few minutes later, Angel exited God’s View, gently shook his head at Laplace: ”No anomalies whatsoever.”

”Did you investigate everything?” Laplace paused, pointing at the Dog Deacon: ”Have you checked the book in his hand?”

The book the Dog Deacon was reading?

Angel looked up with puzzlement, seeing the Dog Deacon holding a frayed leather book, flipping through its pages, seemingly immersed in it.

”Soon after you closed your eyes, he picked up that book and has been reading it ever since.” Laplace asked quietly, ”Do you know what that book is?”

Angel shook his head, somewhat bewildered.

All the books within the Illusion Technique Library were created by Angel’s illusion technique, so he knew every book’s appearance, name, and content.

Yet the book in the Dog Deacon’s hand didn’t trigger any recognition.

While it stood out, this leather book was unusually frayed; Angel didn’t recall including anything so severely frayed within the library... The more frayed a book gets, the more its internal text gets worn down. Angel created this library for educational purposes and to amuse the indigenous people, foregoing any unnecessary ”aging effects.”

All the books here are new, with fresh, clear writing and not a single trace of wear—definitely not showcasing anything as severely frayed as this.

If such a frayed book couldn’t possibly have been included, then where did the book in his hand come from?

Could it be that some indigenous person took it out of Silver Coral Island, found it useless, and placed it in the library?

Angel was filled with doubt as he turned to Laplace: ”Where did he draw this book from?”

Laplace pointed to a standing bookshelf to the left of the Dog Deacon.

Following the indication, Angel looked over and a hint of confusion flashed in his eyes when he saw the standing bookshelf.

The books on this shelf... are mostly about various intelligence of the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

He remembered that the Dog Deacon’s purpose in the library was to search for information on the Crystal Origin of Dreams. And coincidentally, among the intelligence bookshelves he searched, there was this extra leather book...

Angel fell silent.

He could vaguely feel a strange power stirring up the murky pool.

This power was probably what Laplace spoke of... the guiding of fate.

Angel gently glanced at Laplace: ”Perhaps, your guess is correct.”

After speaking this sentence, Angel closed his eyes again, ascending to God’s View. This time, he did not look at the other books in the library, his gaze directly fixed on the extra leather book in the Dog Deacon’s hand.

General observation did not reveal any anomalies; but when Angel focused all his attention on the book, he finally felt something unusual.

The power of Fairyland Authority was locked within the book pages.

This ”lock” power was exactly the same as the ”lock” in the pure white space corresponding to Little Red’s training instance, it’s a special sealing.

If this sealing isn’t unlocked, even Angel cannot perceive or probe it.

This was why Angel found nothing unusual during his previous scan.

Seeing this familiar sealing, Angel was already sure that Laplace’s guess was indeed correct.

The training instance unique to the Dog Deacon was hidden within this extra book in the library. The Dog Deacon’s visit to the library was truly guided by fate...

Angel silently sighed in his heart, conducting a small reflection on his previous blind confidence.

After reflection, Angel’s gaze returned to the leather book.

According to existing information, once the sealing is unlocked, the training instance should immediately present itself.

And unlocking this sealing isn’t difficult.

Back then, Little Red stretched out her hand to touch the door on the crystal wall and unlocked the sealing, and this book is almost the same. As long as the Dog Deacon turns the book to the last page and touches the illustration on the last page, he can unlock the sealing and open the training instance.

At this moment, the Dog Deacon had already flipped the book more than halfway through, not far from the last page.

Angel originally wanted to explore the book’s content, but time was too tight, so he considered and decided to exit God’s View.

Upon opening his eyes, Angel immediately nodded to Laplace: ”You guessed it right, the training instance is hidden in that book!”

After Angel spoke, before Laplace could respond, he approached the Dog Deacon. Just as the Dog Deacon was about to flip the book to the final few pages, Angel promptly stopped him: ”Hold on a moment!”

Fortunately, although the training instance has a mechanism to call and guide the practitioner, it does not have a mandatory activation intent. Angel’s shout timely prevented the Dog Deacon from flipping the pages.

In the Dog Deacon’s confused gaze, Angel quickly said: ”When you flip to the last page of this book, it’s highly likely to open a training instance similar to Little Red’s.”

Dog Deacon: ”???” He can reveal a training instance just by flipping a picture book novel? Is the Dream Crystal Origin’s Immortal Realm appearing this magically?

Angel ignored the Dog Deacon’s thoughts and continued: ”The Illusion Technique Library is not a good place to open an Immortal Realm, it’s better to choose another location.”

The Dog Deacon was stunned: ”What do you mean?”

At this moment, Laplace’s voice came through: ”It means for you to take this book out of the library, find a remote place outside, and open the training instance there.”

The Dog Deacon looked at the leather book in his hand, then at Angel and Laplace, nodding in a somewhat baffled manner: ”Oh, oh... I understand.”

No matter if the Dog Deacon understood or not, under Laplace’s urging, they quickly left the library.

The leather book was also smoothly taken out of the library.

When they reached a remote corner of Rabbit Town, the Dog Deacon softly said: ”Actually, I don’t necessarily have to open the training instance today...”

Angel: ”Whether you open it or not, find a place to lock the instance’s door first.”

That is to say, it’s still necessary to find a suitable place first.

Dog Deacon: ”Then where should we go now? It feels like there’s hardly anyone here.”

Angel looked around, this was behind the last Rabbit Mansion. Due to the presence of the dangerous ”World Grinding Day” instance in this Rabbit Mansion, there were already few people around, and even fewer behind the mansion.

Opening the training instance here might go unnoticed for a month or two.

The training instance might not last long, so choosing to open it here is acceptable.

Thinking of this, Angel prepared to agree with the Dog Deacon to open the instance here.

But just then, Laplace suddenly said: ”Actually, we don’t necessarily have to open the instance outside here.”

”Don’t open it outside? Do you mean go inside the Rabbit Mansion?” The Dog Deacon paused, pointing to the enormous Rabbit Mansion beside them.

However, Laplace still shook his head: ”No, I mean... go to Silver Coral Island.”

Since the training instance isn’t mandatory to open, this means they can take this book and open the instance anywhere.

If it’s anywhere, why must it be in the outside world?

Can a training instance be opened within instance space?

Silver Coral Island is instance space, plus it’s a sparsely populated area with some uninhabited islands in the surrounding sea... randomly choosing an island to open the instance would be more remote?

The most important thing is, even if opening the training instance internally doesn’t work, it’s worth trying.

It’s a rare opportunity to have an instance that doesn’t require forced opening and can take the entrance of the instance around, why not try it here.

Being able to find a remote place while also testing if the instance space can accommodate new instances, such an opportunity is fleeting.

After listening to Laplace, Angel’s eyes also lit up.

Indeed, even if it cannot be opened, at least one should try first!
