Warlock Apprentice

Under the gaze of thousands, a group of ten people arrived at the mountain summit.

The palace at the summit, somewhat resembling an ancient temple, was very rustic. It stood dozens of meters tall, imbued with a grandiose and magnificent aura. The palace was not adorned with garish paints, but only the pure white of polished stone and the silvery-white metallic films embedded in the stones. Under the sunshine, it glistened gloriously.

The temple had no doors, only surrounded by columns of stone. Through the gaps between the columns, it was clearly visible that the temple was actually empty inside.

This meant the temple was not their destination.

Where were they headed then? Everyone looked towards the path, only to notice that this path led to a circular platform, which was directly in front of the temple.

Previously, they could faintly see figures in front of the temple; now, upon closer inspection, the so-called figures were statues holding candle-holders, resembling devout followers, positioned on both sides of the path.

The group exchanged glances and then stepped forward simultaneously, entering this final stretch of the path.

As they entered, the statues holding the candle-holders on both sides reacted. Every time they passed a statue, the candle-holder the statue was holding would burst into flames, and the statues themselves started to move, kneeling on the ground as if welcoming the arrival of heroes.

Statue after statue lit up with fire, kneeling on the ground all the way to the end.

This scene was extremely striking, exciting the spectators and deeply moving the people present.

”This ceremony is truly profound, it seems we have truly entered the ceremonial phase,” Suyatutai said quietly, watching the scene unfold. Although his tone seemed calm, the deep flames flickering in his eyes revealed that his heart was anything but still.

Even Qi Li, who had previously mocked the ceremony, remained silent at this moment, quietly following the group’s steps up onto the platform.

The platform was similar to the earlier square, circular in shape, with some patterns on the ground.

They thought the platform was the endpoint, yet there was still no one there. As they explored the platform in confusion, suddenly a slight disturbance occurred in the center of it.

Everyone looked towards the sound, only to see a grand door, breaking through the spatial seal, slowly appearing in the center.

The door emerged instantaneously, and with a sound, swung open.

As the door opened, everyone heard the noisy and bustling shouts from behind it. It was evident that the door led outside to the Boundless Battle Arena.

As the crowd imagined the scene outside the door, several figures stepped through the opened door.

All these individuals were dressed in the uniform of Sky Mechanical City, with silver and white attire that held a unique sense of order.

The contestants from the Supernova contest, almost none did not recognize them; they were the permanent judges for this Supernova contest.

Initially, only Apprentice-level judges appeared, but later, Official Wizard judges also gradually showed up.

The circular platform seemed to be split into two halves. The front half contained only them, the ten people. The latter half was filled with judges from Sky Mechanical City, and the positions where these judges stood were meticulously arranged, distances between each other filled with a ceremonial beauty, each judge watching them quietly.

Including Suyatutai, the emotions of all participants at this moment were somewhat fluctuating.

During the long journey climbing the mountain, observed by thousands, they were not excited.

Upon stepping onto the platform, despite being amazed by the sacred statue ceremony, they were still not excited.

But as they stood on the high platform, listening to the shouts coming from outside and being focused by the Official Wizards, whom they once thought unreachable, they inexplicably became excited.

In the past, when they saw these Official Wizards, they never dared to look them directly in the eye. But now, they were regarded with great esteem.

It was as if, at this very moment, they had truly transformed into supernovas illuminating the skies of the Southern Domain.

Their previous calm was gone, and everyone’s emotions fluttered like long rainbows.

At this moment, from the grand door at the center of the platform, the last few people walked out.

Klemone of Dusknights’ Blade, Hydra the Guardian of the Dead Sea from the Crown Star Church, one of the eighteen Observers, the Water Pattern Witch Farina from the Research and Development Institute, and... Angel who entered last alongside Melisa.

After everyone had entered, the grand door closed behind them.

Melisa stepped forward, her gaze slowly sweeping over the crowd: ”Welcome everyone, the top ten of the Supernova Competition.”

”Philosopher, Phantom Deer...” Melisa solemnly pronounced each person’s title, and then slowly began the closing speech of the Supernova Competition.

While Melisa was reciting the closing speech, Angel observed the surrounding environment.

This was his first time entering the Boundless Battle Arena, and everything here closely resembled the outside world; even the rules of energy operation and the saturation of elements were indistinguishable.

Angel felt a slight sentimentality; the person who constructed the Boundless Battle Arena needed not only to master Alchemy but also to be skilled in the Laws and Energy.

The resources of Alchemists involved in this endeavor probably numbered in the dozens, if not hundreds.

In the entire Wizards’ Realm of the Southern Domain, only Sky Mechanical City could possibly have so many Alchemists. Other organizations, even if they wanted to replicate the Boundless Battle Arena, would not be able to afford so many Alchemists.

While Angel was distracted with his thoughts, Melisa finally finished the closing remarks.

After a brief Ceremony, Melisa slowly said: ”Next, will be the award ceremony.”

The award ceremony was the purpose for everyone gathered today.

”The first reward is one all participants who made it to the Supernova Competition repechage receive, which is the eligibility to enter the Endless Corridor. However, according to your rankings, the level of access to the Endless Corridor also varies.”

”For the specific details, you can check the cards previously handed to each of you, which contain the relevant information.”

Melisa’s voice echoed not only across the platform but also reached each of the pillars.

What everyone was most looking forward to, and the reason they participated in the Supernova Competition, was the chance to train in the Endless Corridor. Now, after listening to Melisa’s words, everyone quickly picked up their cards to check the specific details of their access.

Nausicaa also examined the details on her card, similar to how she would check a Bone Card, merely covering it with her spiritual power and the relevant information would appear.

140th floor.

Joy flashed in Nausicaa’s eyes, as she had already learned that the 140th floor was basically facing challenges suitable for those at the advanced phase of the Third Level Apprentice. In other words, she could advance in the Endless Corridor before progressing to a Wizard.

This was already quite impressive, and as for matters beyond becoming a Wizard, there was no need for her to think too much about them now.
