Warlock Apprentice

The people in the judging room were all waiting for the upcoming coronation and award ceremony, but during the wait, an unexpected interlude occurred.

The doors of the judging room were pushed open, and two Witches walked in.

The person in front, even though she was dressed in a tight uniform, could not hide her very exaggerated curves. Her appearance was of a mature and glamorous type, but because she wore glasses and had her wavy hair meticulously pinned up, it took away some of her sensuality and added a sense of abstinence.

Following her was a female Apprentice dressed in a pure white robe.

The two of them came in briskly, and when the permanent judges looked over, they paid little attention to the Apprentice following behind, but the well-dressed Witch walking in front made them lower their heads in greeting, ”Miss Yada.”

In the Sky Mechanical City, when it comes to the surname Yada, the first person everyone thinks of is one of the two great City Lords, the famed ”Mechanical Beast Emperor” Rosen Yada.

And this person referred to as ”Miss Yada” is actually the daughter of the Beast Emperor Rosen.

——Melisa Yada.

Melisa calmly nodded to the permanent judges and then quickly headed towards the direction of the special judges.

When she passed by Angel, Melisa’s face showed a slight embarrassment, but she still respectfully nodded to him: ”Wizard Pat.”

Outsiders didn’t know what Melisa found embarrassing, but the person involved was very clear.

For quite some time, Melisa, with her duty as a supervisor, stayed in the Sky Tower of the Barbarian Cave’s Underground Market. Angel had encountered Melisa before when he was climbing the tower.

Initially, there was no connection between the two, but later, Baroque’s scheme against Angel made him wary of Melisa as well.

Now, Angel had been promoted to an Official Wizard and even became a member of the Research and Development Institute. Whenever Melisa met Angel again, she couldn’t help but think of their past incident. If only she had stopped Baroque at that time, perhaps it wouldn’t be so awkward now.

Angel understood the reason behind Melisa’s embarrassed expression. However, since Baroque was the true mastermind behind the incident, Angel held relatively less animosity towards Melisa.

He didn’t say much, just politely nodded and casually asked, ”Supervisor Melisa, what brings you here?”

Melisa: ”I have something to discuss with the Observer.”

Angel naturally stepped aside, and Melisa let out a slight sigh of relief before moving next to Hydra nearby.

At this moment, Farina leaned over to Angel’s ear and whispered, ”I can’t help but feel that Melisa is a bit uncomfortable seeing you. Is there... some kind of secret between you two?”

Angel smiled: ”Melisa was the supervisor in charge when I was climbing the Sky Tower in the Barbarian Cave.”

”Oh? Is that all?”

”Yes.”

Farina looked at Angel intensely, her eyes shimmering with disbelief. However, she did not press on, as Melisa had already begun to explain her reason for coming to Hydra.

Melisa did not intentionally lower her volume, and everyone in the judging room could hear her voice.

”Observer, an issue has arisen with Onassis and I hope you can go and lend a hand,” Melisa said with a hint of urgency, clearly very anxious.

An issue with Onassis? Everyone exchanged glances, their expressions filled with confusion.

The coronation and award ceremony was about to be held, and the audience at the Boundless Battle Arena had not yet dispersed, excitedly waiting for this final moment. But just then, a problem with the champion Onassis arose? The people also understood why Melisa was so urgent; indeed, it was a very pressing time.

”What’s the situation?” Hydra’s voice was still very dull, with a buzzing friction in his ears.

Melisa signaled the apprentice behind her to step forward: ”Hissa, you explain it to the Observer.”

The apprentice in the white robe seemed hesitant to look at Hydra directly and instead quickly said with her head down: ”Your Excellency the Observer, my name is Hissa; I am part of the medical team. The situation is like this, Philosopher has been examined by us and doesn’t seem to have any injuries, but his condition is very strange...”

Hissa recounted the details of the incident.

When Onassis arrived at the medical room, he still had the crimson glow in his eyes and let out strange laughter from time to time. He also kept muttering the phrase ”darkness and light” that he had said during the previous finals.

Originally, the medical team only needed to be responsible for Onassis’s physical injuries; upon examination, Onassis appeared to be very healthy, so at first, they did not pay attention to his bizarre behavior.

However, something happened afterward.

”It seemed like the Philosopher returned to normal for a moment,” Hissa said.

”A moment of normality?” Hydra asked skeptically: ”What does that mean?”

”His eyes stopped being red and he stopped the eerie laughter, and he conveyed a coherent logical message,” Hissa explained: ”However, this only lasted for a moment, and soon he reverted to his previous maniacal state.”

Hydra pondered for a while: ”You said he conveyed a coherent logical message, what do you mean by that?”

”Actually, after the medical team confirmed that the Philosopher had no injuries, we didn’t pay attention to him. It was the Mirage Deer player in the medical room who noticed and told us. The Philosopher, in that brief moment of normalcy, sent out a distress signal to Mirage Deer.”

”A distress signal?” Not just Hydra, everyone present fixed their gaze on Hissa.

Hissa, being the center of attention for the first time, trembled slightly, becoming somewhat nervous.

Melisa simply stepped forward, taking over to explain the rest: ”Yes, Trom received his distress signal at that time.”

Since Onassis was lucid for a very brief period, he used a type of Jabar cipher that could transmit mental signals.

The prototype of the Jabar cipher was an ”oracle” taught by the Abyssal Demon God to his followers, which through years of modification and evolution, eventually became a cipher that the Wizards could use. Trom spent many years in the Abyss, so he happened to know how to decipher the Jabar cipher.

The decoded message was still not very substantial.

Initially, it was a simple distress signal, but then it seemed that Onassis thought of something, and he added that he wanted to exercise his winner’s reward from the New Star Tournament, hoping that the officials of the Infinite Battle Tower would subdue his inner demons.

If it had just been a distress signal, perhaps no one would have cared. But since he made a request to exercise the winner’s reward and proposed a demand to the officials, the matter needed to be taken seriously.

After learning this information from Trom, the medical team immediately found Melisa.

Melisa went to the medical room to check the situation right away and found that indeed, Onassis was in a very strange state. If not attacked, he was completely immersed in his own world, but if stimulated by the outside, he would launch a crazed counterattack.

Moreover, in this bizarre state, Onassis was unable to perform normal actions fully.

The award ceremony was approaching, and if Onassis couldn’t participate in the ”Ceremony,” this year’s New Star Tournament would end up being anticlimactic. Therefore, Melisa also took the situation of Onassis very seriously.

However, Melisa couldn’t find anything wrong, and as for the ”inner demons” that Onassis mentioned, she was at her wits’ end.

As the award ceremony drew closer, Melisa had no choice but to hurry to the judges’ room, hoping that Hydra could provide some advice.
