Warlock Apprentice

When the black fog on the stage cleared, as Quini had said, Trom took an absolute advantage.

Asaz, without the aid of Demonic Power, would find it difficult to defeat Trom, let alone now that Trom had also utilized his Bloodline power—the half-beast form.

After some entanglement, Asaz admitted defeat.

The two semifinals thus concluded, and the finalists were Trom and Onassis.

The finals will be held in three days, and over the next few days, they will determine the rankings beyond the champion and runner-up.

After the match, Angel saw Greya placing a marker on Asaz’s body, totally unbeknownst to him.

Greya: ”I’m going to deal with Asaz first, if you’re going to Fangling Hall, just tell Sinistra and the others, I’ll come later.”

Angel: ”I’m free now, do you mind if I join you?”

Greya indifferently nodded: ”If you want to come, then come.”

After that, Greya’s figure suddenly vanished, and Angel, following Greya’s aura, immediately followed.

In a plaza outside the Infinite Battle Tower, Greya reappeared, and shortly after, Angel also appeared next to her.

”He’s still in the Infinite Battle Tower, hasn’t come out yet, let’s wait a moment,” Greya said, and casually sat down on a bench near a fountain.

After sitting down, Greya fell into deep thought, constantly replaying the match between Asaz and Trom in her mind.

While Greya was lost in thought, Angel’s words reached her ears.

”I think his match today didn’t seem staged,” Angel’s voice, very distinctive, echoed clearly, not drowned out by the splashing sound of the fountain, but rather it made his voice seem clearer.

Greya did not respond, but she also tacitly agreed with Angel’s view, the match indeed didn’t seem staged.

Angel: ”Asaz has already offered sacrifices to demons and has fallen. In the Southern Domain where the sacrifice to demons is unknown, he can act recklessly. With the augmented power of demons, especially possibly a Fire Pattern Demon, how could he lose?”

”I watched Trom’s matches, comparing him with Kavoline, I think Kavoline would win. But Asaz defeated Kavoline, yet lost to Trom, doesn’t that make little sense?”

Greya looked deeply at Angel: ”You mean, you still think Asaz hasn’t fallen.”

Angel: ”I just feel that Asaz and the demon he sacrificed might not have reached consensus ideologically. Otherwise, his Demonic Power wouldn’t have become so weak in the latter half of the match.”

If Asaz could have continuously used his Demonic Power earlier, defeating Trom would not be difficult.

Greya silently after a moment nodded: ”You have a point, during the later stages of the match, Asaz’s body was completely able to endure, but he didn’t receive more Demonic Power, that’s indeed irregular.”

”However, there might be reasons unknown to us, let’s ask him when we catch him,” Greya paused: ”Regardless, since Asaz’s demon can already use the power to turn living people into food, Asaz and the demon definitely reached some level of agreement.”

According to Greya’s intention, they still have to deal with Asaz. However, compared to the ruthless tactics before, she took a step back, planning to capture Asaz first.

The words Angel just said for Asaz were also because Asaz’s pure and clean eyes stirred something in him. As for how to deal with Asaz, that is Greya’s matter, Angel had no say in it.

”What are your plans regarding what Quini told you earlier? When do you plan to go to the Frost Moon Alliance?” Greya didn’t continue discussing Asaz, but shifted the conversation.

”Not going for now, there are still many things I haven’t done,” Angel said without hesitation. It’s not that he didn’t trust Quini, he also knew that even Lord Monty wouldn’t dare to harm him easily now at the Frost Moon Alliance. But, Angel still had some concerns.

He was in possession of Lord Monty’s coveted flesh of Aoluxiya, and furthermore, even the Demon God’s avatar himself was inside.

Before these two bodies had been dealt with, he dared not lightly step into the territory of the Frost Moon Alliance.

”Frost Brilliance, it contains various rare treasures the Frost Moon Alliance has gathered from campaigns in the Otherworld, perhaps even mysterious objects that have lost their luster, aren’t you tempted?” Greya: ”Moon Chapter, it’s a secret archive of knowledge inheritance for the Frost Moon, filled with a vast confluence of knowledge, even including lost recipes... Can you resist this temptation?”

Angel: ”I’m not tempted, and I can resist. By the way, I’m not at all interested in recipes.”

Greya: ”If you could help me retrieve some of those lost recipes, then any dish recorded in those recipes, I can cook for you for free.”

Angel fell into thought, finding this temptation even greater than ”Frost Brilliance and Moon Chapter.” Greya’s cooking, its effects sometimes more potent than potions and with hardly any side effects. If he could eat it for free, that really would be worth it.

”That could be considerate, but I do indeed have a lot of things to handle now, I’ll go to the Frost Moon Alliance when I have time later.”

Greya originally wanted to incite Angel to help her get some of the lost recipes, but just at this moment, she sensed that Asaz had left the Infinite Battle Tower.

”He’s out.” Greya’s expression immediately grew solemn: ”It’s time to meet him.”

Ten minutes later, on Champagne Road.

Asaz didn’t have a formal Witcher Organization, being a roaming Apprentice. Thus, he had no residence in Sky Mechanical City, and his temporary lodging was at an inn on Champagne Road.

Champagne Road was full of pubs and inns, so it was usually crowded with Apprentices.

From day to night, this street was always in a state of sleepless revelry. The same was true now, as lively as ever.

Especially near Mukihara Bar, which was nearly the source of all the liveliness.

As Asaz passed by Mukihara Bar, he could see through the doorway the bustling scene inside and various discussions emanating from it.

Usually, Asaz might have entered to have a drink, but now he was not in the mood.

Firstly, his hands were still in a state of frostbite, although healed, they remained numb.

Secondly, he had lost the match and was unable to control Sebastian, which left him feeling very disheartened.

”Why so disheartened? Do you really want to control me that much? I’d be very saddened, since we have exchanged surnames. I hear in some human nations, when a female marries a male, she takes his surname. In that sense, our relationship is even closer.” Sebastian’s ethereal voice entered Asaz’s mind.

”First of all, human genders are male and female. Moreover, in some countries, when marrying, women don’t exchange surnames; they just add a double-barreled surname.” Pausing for a moment, Asaz continued: ”Besides, you also have my surname.”

Sebastian: ”Doesn’t that represent a mutual constraint in terms of our surnames?”

Of course, Sebastian would not tell Asaz that he had nearly twenty surnames, signifying the inheritance of the Fire Pattern Demon.

Asaz did not want to pay attention to Sebastian, but Sebastian continued: ”If you’re really feeling down, why not enter this bar for a drink? Although there’s a lot of talk about others, there’s also quite a bit about praising you; maybe hearing their accolades will cheer you up?”

”I don’t want to hear it.”

”Then just have a drink?”

”No.” Asaz still refused, and he was somewhat suspicious: ”Why do you suddenly suggest I go to Mukihara Bar? What’s the catch with this bar? Do you have companions inside?”

Sebastian: ”Of course not, it’s just that there’s a very delicious ingredient inside.”

”Ingredient? What ingredient?”

Sebastian did not respond, but softly muttered to himself: a live ingredient.
