Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1512: Section 1513 Sharley Chapter 1512: Section 1513 Sharley This experience also gave Angel the opportunity to bring Sharley along.

The benefits brought by the Rhythm of the Ocean, for Sharley, definitely made it the most rewarding journey to Sky Mechanical City.

After all, Sharley is his student; though she was just brought along, it’s extraordinarily advantageous for her. Considering what to give back to Angel, Farina had to take this matter into account.

After pondering for a moment, Farina’s gaze unconsciously shifted towards the casually sitting Nail Granny.

She remembered that during a previous conversation with Nail Granny about Angel, Nail Granny had mentioned that Angel seemed to be searching for something.

She hesitated for a moment and said, “I heard you are looking for a Magic Rune Scroll that increases the luck attribute?”

Angel’s mind stirred, and he nodded without hesitation: “Yes, does Ms. Farina know where I can find one?”

Farina nodded gently: “I know an old friend who has a Magic Rune Scroll that increases the luck attribute.”

“May I know who it is?” Although Angel was overjoyed deep inside, he still restrained his emotions and asked the identity of the person. If it was Vifette…

Just as Angel thought this, Farina said: “My old friend is ’Twilight’s Glow’ Vifette from West Dimosha.”

A chill froze the joy in Angel’s heart: “Indeed, it’s him.”

Farina seemed to hear the change in Angel’s tone and asked curiously, “Does Wizard Pat also know Vifette?”

At this moment, Nail Granny said softly, “I remember Vifette once went to the Abyss, and wasn’t that when Angel also went to the Abyss?”

Angel nodded: “Vifette and I were in the last batch that followed the Frostmoon supply team to the Abyss. Therefore, I had mentioned exchanging the Scroll of Fortune with him.”

“However, what he wants in return is something very difficult for me to obtain.”

“What does Vifette want?” Farina asked.

“A Constant Fragment.”

After hearing this, the corners of Farina’s mouth twitched: “That old fellow is really asking for the moon.”

The value of Constant Fragments, compared to the ethereal Scroll of Fortune, was incomparably higher. A few drops of Constant Fragments could transform into a Witchcraft Garden, a strategic level weapon; while the Scroll of Fortune, which only lasts a few seconds, and luck itself is not an absolute concept, the Scroll is considerably inferior when compared.

“Even if I could afford Constant Fragments, they are not available in the market,” Angel sighed.

Farina pondered for a moment: “Well, I’ll go to the communication tower later and talk to Vifette.”

Angel nodded appreciatively at Farina: “Thank you very much.”

“There’s no need, after all, I owe you a big favor today. Moreover, I think he should consider it now if you go talk to him, considering previously you were just a potential seed, but now you are a bona fide Official Wizard and a formal member of the Research and Development Institute; Vifette would be wise to influence according to the situation.”

After discussing Vifette, Farina glanced at Nail Granny, who seemed a bit downcast.

She continued after pondering: “I don’t know why you want to use the Scroll of Fortune. But as a colleague, I still want to remind you–”

“Luck is really relative. Sometimes, bad things may not lead to bad results, and good outcomes may not lead to good consequences after all, as there are too many variables in the world.”

“If you’re using it in alchemy, I’d really advise you, if possible, it’s better not to use it.”

Angel glanced at Nail Granny, who had also previously advised him to avoid using the Scroll of Fortune in alchemy, especially when refining mysterious objects.

Apparently, Nail Granny seemed to know some secrets, perhaps someone had once used a similar method for crafting mysterious items; otherwise, Nail Granny wouldn’t have specifically cautioned him.

Now, with the Water Pattern Witch specifically emphasizing this, Angel understood its importance.

He nodded gravely: “Thank you for the reminder, I will be careful.”

Farina only got acquainted with Angel today and found it inappropriate to say more. Seeing Angel acknowledging the caution, she no longer continued on this topic.

“This time I came back to the Sky Mechanical City was also to refine an Alchemy Work related to the ocean lineage, experiencing the Rhythm of the Ocean today is of very important significance to me,” said Farina sincerely: “Thank you, Wizard Pat, for making this possible.”

Angel: “It was no trouble at all.”

After expressing her gratitude, Farina let out a wry smile: “However, now with the insurmountable mountain of the Rhythm of the Ocean above my head. Surpassing it won’t be easy.”

Farina only mentioned it wasn’t easy, and not impossible. This also signifies the pride of an alchemist.

Then, Farina started making casual conversation, discussing some alchemy topics that could foster closer relations, and Nail Granny was very willing to help the conversation along.

The entire Tea Party was harmonious and lively, yet Angel hadn’t drunk a sip of tea, mainly because the term ’bathwater’ kept coming up in his mind.

The only one who seemed out of place at the tea party was Sharley, dressed as a magician.

Her emotions were actually very complicated.

She felt extremely nervous facing Angel, afraid that he would investigate her previous “borrowing” behavior; she was also somewhat grateful to Angel, for allowing her to_experience such a magical thing as the Rhythm of the Ocean… Among these emotions, Sharley also harbored some resentment–if Angel hadn’t sabotaged her, she wouldn’t have been caught by Kavoline.

But after realizing it was Angel who had tricked her, Sharley could only endure it. After all, she couldn’t defeat Angel, even with the support of her Mentor, she couldn’t overpower him.

Sharley, however, never reviewed her own mistakes.

As the Tea Party was coming to an end and Farina was preparing to leave, Sharley finally let out a silent sigh of relief.

Even though Angel was younger than her, his aura was so intimidating that she dared not make a move. This atmosphere made her, who usually was lively, feel uneasy; now the tea party was finally over.

But just as Sharley was about to leave the Nail Alchemy Shop with Farina, Angel suddenly spoke, “Sharley, your name is Sharley, right?”

Sharley’s spine straightened instantly, and she stiffly looked up at Angel: “Lord Pat…”

Angel smiled and said, “We have met before, haven’t you forgotten?”

As he spoke, a mist suddenly swirled around Angel’s face, transforming into the image Sharley had seen underwater before.

Given Angel’s words, how could Sharley pretend she didn’t recognize him? She awkwardly said, “So it was Lord Pat before, I didn’t notice…”

Seeing Angel smile without a word, Sharley’s face changed instantly, showing a look of being wronged, apologizing, earnestness, and sincerity.

“I’m sorry, I really didn’t know it was Lord Pat at the time!”

Farina looked at Sharley with a puzzled expression, her eyes exploring for answers.

Angel, observing Sharley’s performance which could be described as professional-level and listening to her tearful apology, inwardly remarked that Sharley was indeed very suitable for the style of Extinguished Torch Academy. Her acting skills were astonishing; even facing him, she could change her expression, and this subsequent performance almost moved him.

Farina hesitated for a moment: “Wizard Pat, has Sharley offended you before?”

Angel shook his head, “No, it was just an interesting interlude.”

“Yes, an interlude, a small misunderstanding!” Sharley quickly chimed in.

But Angel then said, “She just tried to steal something from me.”

Sharley’s face froze instantly, and seeing Farina’s dark expression, she stammered, “I wasn’t stealing, just… borrowing to have a look.”

Farina knew Sharley’s character all too well, what so-called “borrowing” was actually just a self-justifying excuse!

While causing trouble was one thing, Farina hadn’t expected that this time Sharley would actually attempt to steal from Angel!

The anger in Farina’s heart at this moment was even more intense than when Sharley had been rude before.

“This was Sharley’s fault. I will provide Lord Pat Wizard with a satisfactory explanation,” Farina said with a stern look, staring at Sharley.

But Angel simply waved his hand: “As I said, it was just a small interlude, no need to be too harsh on Sharley.”

Sharley, while agreeing in her heart, dared not respond this time, afraid Angel might stab her again with his words.

“But, I have some questions I’d like to ask Sharley.”

At this point, Farina naturally hoped to defuse the situation, nodding at Sharley, “Keep your glib tongue in check.”

Sharley muttered to herself: She wouldn’t dare to lie in front of an Official Wizard.

“I want to know, what was the thing you just tried to steal?” Angel asked, voicing his doubt.

“It was that thing in your front pocket, I thought I had successfully stolen it, but it turned out to be an illusion,” Sharley replied.

“Do you know what I had in my pocket?”

Sharley shook her head, “I don’t know, but I could feel that it was something rare.”

“Why?”

Sharley hesitated for a moment: “Because I sensed a trace of emotional power field fluctuation, although it was subtle, there must be a deep emotional power contained within.”

Sharley’s response was somewhat mystical, but Angel could tell she wasn’t lying.

Moreover, when she had ’borrowed’ Allen’s Beast-Slaying Knife before, she had mentioned that it was an object filled with emotion.

At that time, Angel hadn’t understood, but adding up what Sharley was saying now, it seemed he was beginning to understand something.

“You can sense an emotional power field?”

Sharley nodded, “To be precise, it’s the power of emotion.”

Angel fell silent for a moment, then slowly opened the front of his tunic.

Inside his tunic, there wasn’t the ’object’ Sharley had mentioned, but a bird dressed in a panda toy costume.

When Sharley looked over, the bird sitting in Angel’s palm, with its bright red eyes watching her, blinked innocently a few times.
