Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1468: Section 1469 The Unbearable Weight Chapter 1468: Section 1469 The Unbearable Weight Trom emerged from Fantasy City and lay upon Cassiomere’s soft fur for quite some time, discussing the future with him using mental vibrations.

When Cassiomere heard that Trom was going to leave the Abyss, he seemed a bit sad.

He let out a whimper.

Trom had no choice but to comfort Cassiomere, “This time, I am off to challenge the goal in my heart. Once I have triumphed over him, I’ll come right back.”

Trom rambled on for a long while, but eventually, the time to part ways came.

He mounted a magic carpet woven from Cassiomere’s shed fur and slowly approached him, touching Cassiomere’s forehead and whispered, “Wait for my return.”

Cassiomere raised his head in response.

Trom waved goodbye to Cassiomere and, riding the white magic carpet, flew towards the sky–

The location of Sky Island was right above the Thousand Waterfalls Region. Even though Trom had been there many times before, the sight still awed him every time he visited.

What shocked him was not the Sky Island itself, but the countless floating waterfalls surrounding it. These falls, originating from the waters below, astounded Trom because they floated unsupported, flowing upwards, connecting countless waterfalls to Sky Island above, like numerous water dragons guarding Sky Island, the central dragon palace.

Trom ascended along the reversing waterfalls, playfully weaving in and out of them, not forgetting the whims of his youthful heart.

When he arrived at Sky Island, he was almost completely soaked, except for the signature antler hat.

Trom alighted from the magic carpet, and his shape suddenly changed from human to a small white deer. Shaking his damp fur as if he were a tumble dryer, he waited until he was dry before transforming back into human form.

Feeling dry and comfortable, Trom cracked a smile and looked up at the distant, vaguely visible cluster of buildings.

The next task was simple: find Lady Sinafa, hand over the letter to her, and then he could return to the Southern Domain!

With the pleasant thoughts, Trom flew towards the center of Sky Island.

However, when he learned of Sinafa’s whereabouts, he found that she was in the central tower of Sky Island, currently in a meeting with Lord Monty, according to the guard.

Trom could only wait outside.

Thankfully, Trom didn’t have to wait long. A few minutes later, the guards gave him permission to enter, saying Sinafa had asked to see him.

Trom was puzzled; he hadn’t seen the guards go in to pass on the message, had he? He had also prepared himself to seek out Sinafa later, so why did they suddenly allow him to enter now?

As Trom was lost in his thoughts, he was led into the central tower’s grand hall.

Upon entering the hall, steeped in energy symbols, he became nervous. The hall was crowded with many people, whether sitting, standing, floating in midair, or perched on tall columns… These were all Official Wizards and, in the center of the hall, not only did he see Sinafa but also several wizards surrounding her, including Lord Monty!

Trom swallowed hard, not daring to say a word, and was brought before Sinafa under the intense gaze of everyone.

Although there was no palpable pressure, the scrutiny of the wizards, especially that of Lord Monty, made him incredibly nervous.

It was Trom’s first time in such a situation, and he wasn’t sure whether he should speak up now or wait for Sinafa to ask him first.

The more uneasy Trom felt, the more he thought of Angel.

Here he was, trembling at the scene before him. Angel, in contrast, had faced countless horrifying demons alone in Lassudral, and even during the war between humans and demons, he threw the whole situation into chaos.

Such composure was something he was far from achieving.

While Trom was lost in his thoughts, Sinafa finally spoke up, though she wasn’t addressing him, “Now you should speak up. Why have you called this youngster here?”

A deep male voice replied, “A mere premonition of inspiration.”

Trom sneaked a glance and saw a man with twelve circular clocks floating around his robe. He had a youthful face and baby-soft, translucent skin, but his eyes seemed to have seen through the world’s vicissitudes, and his dry, weed-like white hair suggested age. Youth and senescence were oddly combined in him.

Even though it was Trom’s first encounter with the man, he wasn’t a stranger to his identity, especially the symbolic twelve clocks which confirmed his judgment.

“The Pendulum Clock” Luci!

A Prophet Wizard who worships the Wheel of Time.

“A premonition of inspiration? What does that mean?” Sinafa frowned, turning towards Luci. Others also directed their attention to him, including Monty in his silver mask.

“Instead of asking me, why don’t you ask the young man’s intentions?” Luci deflected the question back to Trom.

When Sinafa turned her gaze towards Trom, he trembled slightly, managing to stammer out his identity.

“Oh? You’re the disciple of Witch Sudor?” The look in everyone’s eyes shifted to one of sympathy and pity as they considered his mentor to be the witch with a wicked sense of humor; it was a miracle the boy hadn’t been played to destruction.

Sinafa also nodded, “I see, it’s you. Quini has mentioned you to me, and I hear you’ve signed a coexistence pact with Cassiomere?”

Trom nodded awkwardly.

“Considering Cassiomere’s importance to the Frostmoon Alliance, with him as your covenant partner, I suspect it won’t be long before you become a significant member of the Alliance,” Sinafa praised before getting to the point, “I’ve heard you needed me for something?”

Trom hastily removed his antler hat, revealing short emerald hair. His antler hat was not only for show but also served as a small storage space.

He dug around in his hat for quite a while before he found the magical letter his mentor had given him, which he then handed over to Sinafa with both hands.

Having done all this, Trom stood quietly to the side.

Sinafa then proceeded to decipher the magical seal of the letter, reading it intently. As she read on, her brows furrowed deeper and deeper until, in the end, her eyes were full of bewilderment.

Sinafa was silent for a moment before she picked up the envelope she had set aside earlier, touched it with her index finger, and a thick magazine fell out.

Trom hadn’t expected that a magazine was hidden inside the envelope as well–his curiosity piqued as he glanced at the cover. It seemed to be… Angel’s likeness?

The title of the magazine: “Sky of Truth”?

Sinafa quickly flipped through the magazine, and after she was done, under the puzzled gazes of everyone, she handed both the letter and magazine to Monty.

Monty skimmed it and understood the content instantly.

“Oh? Is the matter written about here confirmed to be true?” Monty’s voice sounded slightly odd.

Sinafa shook her head, “It’s probably just a rumor, but the fact that Quini brought us this news might mean she wants us to confirm it.”

After musing for a moment, Monty handed the letter and magazine to Luci, asking him to use the power of Divination to judge the truth of the content.

After Luci had finished reading the letter and magazine, his expression suddenly twisted into strangeness, “How is it possible so soon…”

After muttering to himself, Luci closed his eyes, and as energy emanated from him, the twelve round clocks suspended around him began to move. The variously shaped Wheels of Time sped up, swiftly advancing the flow of time.

When an illusory eye appeared behind Luci, he extended his slender, pale finger and gently touched one of the round clocks in front of him.

The clock trembled violently and shattered.

Luci frowned–it was a prophecy failure… He pondered for a moment, picked up the magazine to browse again as if he had thought of something, then picked up another round clock and attempted another round of prophecy. This time, it did not fail.

“What is the result?” Sinafa asked impatiently.

Luci rubbed his temples, “I think trying to directly prophesy whether he’s been promoted is not possible. The item concealing him from prophecy on his person is as effective as ever.”

“However, there’s still a way around. According to what is recorded in the magazine, when he was breaking through, he also triggered a Law Creation Phenomenon. If his goal was to set foot on that path directly, then the phenomenon should still be in existence. Therefore, I reviewed the phenomenon in Fairy Tale World.”

Most of the people had not yet grasped what had happened, but that did not prevent them from listening intently. Including Trom, who was curious. When he had previously seen Angel in his mentor’s Crystal Ball, and the cover of the magazine also featured Angel, he felt a premonition that perhaps the letter his mentor had him deliver was related to Angel.

Luci paused for a moment, his expression grave, “Indeed, what is recorded in the magazine is not wrong. According to the time in the Southern Domain, just a few days ago, a Law Creation Phenomenon emerged in the Inner Layer World of Fairy Tale World. Up to now, it hasn’t even dissipated yet.”

A Law Creation Phenomenon is not an Alchemy Phenomenon, and it is extremely rare in the Wizards’ Realm.

If the Law Creation Phenomenon is real, then there’s a high probability that the content recorded in the magazine is also true.

“So, you’re saying Angel has really entered the ranks of the Official Wizards?” Sinafa asked incredulously.

Upon hearing this, everyone finally understood–the letter was referring to Angel’s breakthrough… Angel’s breakthrough?! At first comprehension, everyone felt incredulous upon reflection.

Recently, they had been exhausted due to Angel’s affairs. Today, their gathering was also because of Angel… Lord Monty had just returned from Ice Valley and had verified that what Angel said was true.

That’s why they understood Angel far too well!

A guy who hasn’t even been on the path of a wizard for ten years and is not yet twenty, has now ascended to the rank of Official Wizard?!

The news was astonishing!

At this moment, as Luci responded to Sinafa, he dropped another bombshell, “That should be the case, and very likely it’s not just an entry into the Official Wizard rank. Judging from the Law Creation Phenomenon, he has already glimpsed the path to True Knowledge…”

The Wizards were dazed once more. They had initially thought Angel’s promotion might have been a fluke or that he had used external forces, expending his potential for ascension. But now, they were told not only had Angel been promoted, but he also had one foot on the path of True Knowledge. Their speculation shattered again.

Everyone had a peculiar expression. The person they had been calling “the kid,” “the lucky little fellow,” was now a Wizard, even surpassing the majority of those present.

This was something they found difficult to come to terms with immediately.

However, what was even harder to come to terms with for Trom.

Angel, Official Wizard, True Knowledge… These terms resonated through Trom’s mind, his expression shifting from shock to sorrow, then to dejection…

He now understood why his mentor had made that particular agreement with him.

Defeat Angel within three years? Thirty years might not be enough!

Trom’s eyes brimmed with tears of having been deceived by Quini, oblivious to what was happening around him. By the time he came back to his senses, only he and Sinafa remained in the room.

Sinafa understood Trom’s agreement with Quini, and with sympathetic eyes, she said to Trom, “According to your mentor’s wishes, you are now to be sent to the Southern Domain.”

Knowing that Angel had become an unreachable goal, Trom lacked any desire to go to the Southern Domain, but he didn’t have the right to refuse, either.

“I’m also preparing for a trip to the Southern Domain, so this time, I’ll take you there,” said Sinafa to Trom, her gaze drifting unconsciously to the magazine cover in her hand.

On the cover, Angel wore a faint smile.
