Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 160: The Initial Unfolding of the Conspiracy

Liu Junyi held Ye Yunqi in her arms as she did when she was a child, but she said with a smile, ”Youʼve grown so big, but youʼre still the same as when you were a child.”

Ye Fei sat beside his mother and put his arm around her shoulder, asking, ”Mom, is there something bothering you?” He wouldnʼt have been so bold originally, but in the past few days, because Xu Shuyun was still a bit restless, Ye Fei would always hold her like this whenever they sat in the living room together to comfort her, and he had formed a habit.

But after asking, he realized that the one in his arms was his goddess, and he couldnʼt help but feel a bit nervous.

Liu Yiru, however, didnʼt think much of it. She leaned very comfortably in Ye Feiʼs arms and sighed, ”Your aunt is going to the battlefield tomorrow. How can I not worry?”

Seeing that Liu Yiru didnʼt object, Ye Fei was initially very happy.

After all, this was the first time he had held her like this when Liu Yiru was awake.

After the soft and delicate body he had always dreamed of leaned into his arms, he was extremely excited. But after hearing his motherʼs words, he was stunned for a moment and asked, ”Isnʼt it a time of peace? Why go to the battlefield?”

The amorous feelings in his heart disappeared because of this sentence.

Liu Junyi said with a smile, ”Siyao, you always exaggerate. What kind of battlefield is this? They are just some terrorists, and they pose no threat to us.”

Liu Yiru still couldnʼt let it go. She said with a worried face, ”Donʼt underestimate those terrorists. There are quite a few capable people among them. They might not be much worse than your special forces.”

Liu Junyi still said with a carefree smile, ”We have received accurate information. Although there are quite a few of those terrorists, there are only a few hundred of them. Our Wang Hai City special forces alone can easily deal with them, let alone more than twenty special forces from all over the country, nearly a thousand people.”

Ye Fei frowned and asked, ”Aunt, your Wang Hai City special forces have over five hundred people, right? How come there are only less than a thousand people from more than twenty special forces across the country?”

”Well, itʼs like this.” Liu Junyi said with a smile.

”Since there arenʼt many such real combat opportunities, the higher-ups decided that each special force can only send fifty elites, so there are only so many people. But those who are selected are the best of the best. They can surely handle those terrorists with ease.”

Ye Fei had an idea and asked, ”Aunt, you were just promoted to major general a few days ago. You should be the overall commander of this operation, right?”

”Yes, I am the overall commander of this operation!” Speaking of this, Liu Junyi and her comrades-in-arms were all very proud.

Although the Wang Hai City special forces were strong, the special forces from other places were not much weaker.

Several established ones had a higher reputation than the Wang Hai City special forces.

This time, Liu Junyi could become the overall commander and the captains from other places who were originally at the same rank as her were all her subordinates, which made the people of the Wang Hai City special forces feel very proud.

Liu Junyi was happy, but Ye Feiʼs frown deepened. Ever since he heard the phone call from the officer who came to award Liu Junyi a medal last time, Ye Fei had always suspected it was a conspiracy.

But later, there was no more movement, so he let it go.

But this incident made him think of it again, and the more he thought about it, the more he felt something was wrong. It seemed that this was a conspiracy against Liu Junyi or even all the special forces.

After all, with such a rule, the people led by these captains must be their cronies. If they were all wiped out, a certain person or a certain force could take the opportunity to control this special institution, or at least plant some people in it.

As for why Liu Junyi was made the overall commander, they probably had a backup plan. Although the other captains had high positions and great power, they were still not as good as Liu Junyi.

After all, in Wang Hai City, the Liu family dominated politics with Liu Fengyi, business with Liu Yiru, and the military with Liu Junyi. They could be said to have completely controlled the whole Wang Hai City.

Plus their relationship with the Ye family, the underground controllers of Wang Hai City, the whole Wang Hai City was like an impregnable fortress, and others couldnʼt get a foothold at all.

And this time, perhaps that force was related to the so-called terrorists and was already prepared. Even if they couldnʼt wipe out all the special forces, they wouldnʼt let their mission succeed.

In this way, they would have enough reasons to remove Liu Junyi, thus creating a loophole in the impregnable Wang Hai City.

Although all of this was Ye Feiʼs speculation, he was already ninety percent sure that he was right. If Liu Junyi went, he really wouldnʼt feel at ease.

Although she was much stronger than ordinary special forces members, as the saying goes, two fists are no match for four hands, and she would be in danger. Naturally, he wouldnʼt let his beloved aunt take risks.

”Aunt, why donʼt I go with you this time?” Knowing that Liu Junyi wouldnʼt disobey military orders because of his speculation, he decided to go with her himself. With his protection, she would be much safer.

”Nonsense!” Liu Junyi naturally didnʼt understand Ye Feiʼs good intentions. She thought he just wanted to go and have fun.

Although she was confident about this operation, she also knew danger was inevitable. She loved Ye Fei very much, so how could she let him take risks? So she put on a stern face and said, ”Do you think this is a game? There might be great danger!”

Liu Yiruʼs eyes lit up. Although she hadnʼt fully understood Ye Feiʼs abilities, the part he had shown was already much stronger than the strongest Liu Junyi among her three sisters.

If Ye Fei had gone with Liu Junyi, it would have been more reassuring.

Moreover, although Ye Fei was performing better and better, she still wanted him to go out for some experience so that he could mature faster. So she said, ”I think itʼs okay. Just let Ye Fei go with you for some experience and see more of the world.”

Liu Junyi gave a bitter smile.

”Sister, why are you joining him in this nonsense too? Although we are quite confident this time, no one can guarantee there will be no danger at all. Iʼll have to divide my attention to take care of him at that time, and something might go wrong.”

Ye Fei had grown up under her watch, and in her eyes, he had always been a child, so she didnʼt need to care about his feelings and said it very directly.

Ye Fei naturally wouldnʼt take his auntʼs words to heart, but he pretended to be unconvinced on the surface and said, ”Aunt, you underestimate me. Iʼm not the same as before. Iʼm very powerful now. Maybe youʼll need my protection then!”

Seeing Ye Feiʼs childish look, Liu Junyi couldnʼt help but chuckle. She also knew about Ye Feiʼs destruction of the Wu family later, but by the time she knew, it was already over, so she wasnʼt very clear about it.

Besides, at that time, Liu Fengyi told her that Ye Fei had a very powerful brother, so she always thought Ye Fei had destroyed the Wu family with the help of his ”brother” and only had a partial understanding of Ye Feiʼs abilities.

”Ye Fei, Aunt has important things to do this time. Be obedient and donʼt make trouble with Aunt. How about Aunt telling you all about it when she comes back?” Liu Junyi had no choice but to use the tone of coaxing a child.

Ye Fei was also a bit helpless, so he said, ”Then what can I do to go with you, aunt?”

Liu Junyi said with a smile, ”Unless you can defeat Aunt, then Aunt will believe you can protect yourself.”

Ye Feiʼs eyes lit up, and he said, ”Okay, then letʼs have a competition right away and see if I have the ability to protect myself.”

Liu Junyi just said it casually, not expecting Ye Fei to take it seriously. But then she thought it was good too.

It would let Ye Fei know what real strength was and prevent him from causing trouble later due to overconfidence. So she said with a smile, ”Okay, but donʼt cry if you get beaten by Aunt later!”

When they heard that Ye Fei was going to compete with Liu Junyi, Liu Yiru, and Ye Yunqi were also very happy.

They also didnʼt know Ye Feiʼs real strength. Ye Yunqi knew a bit more than her mother. She knew that not only Ye Fei but even she was stronger than her aunt now, but she still wanted to see Ye Feiʼs true strength.

The four of them walked towards the underground training room together. Ye Fei walked beside Liu Yiru and suddenly asked, ”Mom, why didnʼt I see Siqi and Siyao?”

Liu Yiru said with a smile, ”There are many more trainees in your Siyaoʼs martial arts school now, and she canʼt handle it all. And since the companyʼs matters have been settled recently, I asked your Siqi to help her. They might be too busy to come back to stay tonight.”

When they reached the basement, Liu Junyi stood there casually and said with a smile, ”Ye Fei, have you decided what moves youʼll use to fight Aunt?”

Ye Fei also stood in the arena and said with a smile, ”No, because I donʼt want to hit Aunt. Let aunt attack and Iʼll defend.”

”You naughty boy!” Liu Junyi scolded with a laugh.

”You are quite confident. Well, get ready, aunt is coming!”

Ye Fei nodded slightly and still didnʼt look very serious. Liu Junyi also seemed to want to tease Ye Fei. She raised her palm and struck him, but used less than one-third of her strength.
