Triple X System

The group’s eyes adjusted to the dim, eerie light of Kraken’s surface, the air thick with an otherworldly scent, like ozone and decay. The rough, jagged rocks seemed to stretch on forever, the two red suns hanging low in the sky like dried, bloodied eyes. The silence was oppressive, punctuated only by the distant howl of some unseen beast.

Lucias blinked, his gaze unfocusing as he took in the alien landscape. ”Where... where are we?”

Elara’s expression was grim, her eyes scanning the horizon. ”We’re on Kraken’s surface. We need to get back to my cottage. Now.”

Kyle’s eyes narrowed, his shadow energy flaring as he scanned their surroundings. ”The path’s blocked.”

The group’s eyes followed his gaze.

The two Snake Men stood before them, their scales glitching like living shadows, their eyes fixed on the group with an unnerving intensity. But they weren’t alone.

A figure stood behind them, its presence like a dark vortex, drawing the group’s attention. The air around it seemed to ripple, heavy with a higher, darker energy contained within.

Layla’s voice was low, her words barely audible. ”What’s... that?”

Elara’s jaw was clenched, her eyes locked on the figure. ”That’s a Shadow Wrath. One of the Archon’s creations.”

The Snake Men’s voices hissed in unison, their words like cold wind. ”You... do not leave Kraken.”

The Shadow Wrath’s presence seemed to grow, its energy pressing down on the group like a physical weight.

Lucias’s eyes narrowed, his fists clenched. ”Looks like we got a problem.”

Kyle’s shadow energy flared, his eyes locked on the Snake Men. ”We got this.”

Elara’s gaze was intent, her voice low. ”No. We don’t. Not against a Shadow Wrath. We need a plan.”

The group’s eyes met, their minds racing...

The air seemed to thicken, the tension building like a storm about to break.

The group’s eyes locked, their minds racing as they assessed the situation. The Shadow Wrath’s presence seemed to grow, its energy pressing down on them like a physical weight, making it hard to breathe.

Elara’s voice was low, her words urgent. ”We can’t take on a Shadow Wrath head-on. We need to outsmart it.”

Layla’s eyes narrowed, her gaze darted to the Snake Men. ”Can we take out the Snake Men first?”

Kyle’s shadow energy pulsed. ”I can handle one. Lucias, you. Take the other.”

Lucias nodded, a fierce grin spreading across his face. ”Let’s do it.”

Layla’s telekinesis kicked in, sending rocks hurtling at the Snake Men. Kyle and Lucias charged, their movements fluid, their focus on taking down the Snake Men.

Elara hung back, her eyes locked on the Shadow Wrath. ”I’ll keep it occupied.”

The Shadow Wrath’s energy seemed to ripple, its darkness reaching out like tendrils. Elara’s hands wove patterns, her magic pushing back against the Shadow Wrath’s influence.

The battle raged, the Snake Men’s scales glitching as they fought back. Kyle’s shadow energy surged, taking down one Snake Man with a swift kick. Lucias’s fists flew, his movements precise as he took down the other.

The Shadow Wrath’s energy pulsed, its darkness closing in on Elara.

”Elara, watch out!” Layla shouted, her voice urgent.

Elara’s eyes flashed, her magic surging. But the Shadow Wrath was relentless, its darkness overwhelming her.

Elara’s magic surged, but the Shadow Wrath’s darkness was a crushing weight, pushing her to her knees. The air was thick with the stench of decay, the Shadow Wrath’s energy like a living thing, coiling around her.

Layla’s telekinesis kicked in, sending rocks hurtling at the Shadow Wrath, trying to disrupt its focus. Kyle and Lucias charged, their movements fluid, their eyes locked on the Shadow Wrath.

The Shadow Wrath’s darkness lashed out, sending Elara flying. She landed hard, her vision blurring.

Kyle’s shadow energy surged, wrapping around the Shadow Wrath like a shroud. The Shadow Wrath’s energy pulsed, trying to break free.

Lucias’s fists flew, his movements precise, his blows landing true. But the Shadow Wrath was an endless well of darkness, its energy replenishing itself.

Layla’s voice was urgent. ”We need to get Elara out of here!”

The group’s eyes met, a silent decision made. They had to retreat.

Kyle’s shadow energy surged, pulling the Shadow Wrath towards him. Lucias grabbed Elara, hauling her up. Layla covered their backs, her telekinesis sending rocks flying at the Shadow Wrath.

The group retreated, the Shadow Wrath’s darkness closing in behind them. They stumbled, their breaths ragged, their eyes locked on the Shadow Wrath.

The Shadow Wrath stopped, its energy pulsing like a dark heartbeat. The Snake Men’s bodies twitched, their scales glitching as they straightened.

The Shadow Wrath’s voice was a whisper in their minds. ”You... will not escape.”

The group’s eyes met, their resolve hardening. They would escape. They would survive.

The Shadow Wrath charged, its darkness a living thing.

The Shadow Wrath charged, its darkness a living thing, swallowing the group whole. The air was thick with the stench of decay, the Shadow Wrath’s energy like a living thing, coiling around them.

Kyle’s shadow energy surged, but the Shadow Wrath didn’t flinch. Its darkness wrapped around him, squeezing tight. He gasped, his vision blurring.

Lucias’s fists flew, but the Shadow Wrath’s darkness absorbed the blows, its energy pulsing like a dark heartbeat. Lucias stumbled back, his face bruised and cut.

Layla’s telekinesis sent rocks flying, but the Shadow Wrath’s darkness parted, allowing the rocks to pass through harmlessly. Its energy lashed out, sending Layla flying.

Elara’s magic surged, but the Shadow Wrath’s darkness was a vortex, sucking the energy in. She stumbled back, her eyes wide with fear.

The group was on the ground, the Shadow Wrath’s darkness towering over them. Its voice was a whisper in their minds. ”You... cannot kill me. This is not my body.”

Kyle’s vision blurred, his inward system guide, Snow, whispered in his mind. ”Kyle... the Shadow Wrath’s energy... it’s tied to the Archon’s will. You need to break the tie.”

Kyle’s eyes snapped open, his mind racing. ”Snow... how do I break the tie?”

Snow’s voice was a whisper. ”Find the Archon’s sigil... on the Shadow Wrath’s ’body’. Break it.”

The group’s eyes met, a new plan forming.

Lucias’s voice was low, his words urgent. ”Elara, can you create a distraction?”

Elara nodded, her magic surging. She sent a burst of energy at the Shadow Wrath, creating a brief opening.

Kyle’s shadow energy surged, his eyes locked on the Shadow Wrath’s ’body’. He saw it – the Archon’s sigil, a twisted symbol of dark energy.

Layla’s telekinesis sent a rock flying, aiming straight for the sigil. The rock struck true, shattering the sigil.

The Shadow Wrath’s energy pulsed, its darkness faltering. The group took advantage, scrambling to their feet.

The Shadow Wrath’s voice was a scream in their minds. ”NO! YOU WILL PAY!”

The group ran, the Shadow Wrath’s darkness closing in behind them.

The group ran, the Shadow Wrath’s darkness closing in behind them like a living thing, its energy palpable, making their skin crawl. The ground trembled beneath their feet, the air thick with the stench of decay.

Elara’s voice was urgent, her words punctuated by her ragged breathing. ”We need to get to the cottage! It’s our only chance!”

Lucias’s eyes scanned the horizon, his face set in a grim expression. ”I see it! Just ahead!”

The cottage was a dark silhouette against the bloody red suns, the smoke from its chimney a twisted reminder of safety.

The Shadow Wrath’s scream echoed through the landscape, its darkness coalescing into sharp, black tendrils that lashed at the group. Layla’s telekinesis deflected the tendrils, but the group’s pace slowed.

Kyle’s shadow energy surged, his eyes locked on the cottage. ”We can make it!”

The group sprinted, the cottage looming closer. The Shadow Wrath’s darkness whipped around them, trying to ensnare them.

Elara fl threw open the cottage door, ushering the group inside. ”Get in! Now!”

The group stumbled in, Elara slamming the door shut behind them. The cottage’s interior was dark, the air thick with the scent of herbs and smoke.

The Shadow Wrath’s darkness slammed into the door, the wood creaking under the pressure. The group’s eyes met, their chests heaving.

Elara’s voice was low, her words laced with desperation. ”The cottage’s wards will hold... for now. But we need a plan. We can’t stay here forever.”

Kyle’s eyes locked on Elara, his mind racing. ”I have an idea on how to defeat the shadow wraith.”

Kyle suddenly spoke up, prompting everyone’s attention to him.

”How?” Elara asked, her eyes fixated on him. ”The shadow wraith are said to be myths, I have little knowledge on them from all my years of research, so how could you possibly know anything about defeating it?” Elara questioned, the susoicion clear in her tone.

”Just call it a fellow predator’s instinct.” Kyle retorded with a sarcastic voice, a hidden annoyance bearing in his face.

”There is something called an Archon’s sigil. It was tied to the Shadow Wrath’s energy. If we can disrupt the Archon’s power, then we have a chance.”

Lucias’s eyes narrowed. ”How do we do that?”

The group’s eyes met, the silence stretching out like a thread about to snap.

The Shadow Wrath’s darkness pulsed against the door, the wood groaning under the pressure.
