Triple X System

Kyle groaned, his eyelids cracking open like shutters rusted from disuse. The dim light in the room was a gentle caress, coaxing him back to consciousness. He lay there, unmoving, as memories of the mission flooded his mind – the krael’s attack, the beta wolf, Lucias’s critical hit...

His gaze drifted to the side, landing on Lucias and Layla. They were awake, watching him with quiet concern etched on their faces. Kyle’s relief was palpable, followed by a spark of anger.

He sat up slowly, his movements economical. Elara sat across from him, her eyes intent on his face. The air was thick with the scent of herbs and smoke, a reminder of the witch’s domain.

”You.” Kyle said, his voice low and even. ”You sent us out there blind.”

Elara’s expression didn’t waver. ”I gave you a chance, Kyle. A taste of Kraken’s power. You needed to see it, feel it.”

Kyle’s anger simmered, rising to the surface like a pot left unattended. ”A chance?” he laughed, the sound bitter. ”You call that a chance? We were lucky to survive.”

Elara’s eyes flashed with defiance. ”Survival is the first step, Kyle. You needed to understand the stakes.”

The argument simmered, the air thickening with tension. Layla and Lucias exchanged a worried glance, their murmurs dying as they watched the exchange.

”3.” Lucias murmured, his eyes fixed on Kyle. ”He’s really going for it.”

Layla’s voice was barely audible. ”Perplexing, isn’t it?”

Their words were cut short as a sharp pain laced through their stomachs, like a hot knife slicing through their insides. They gasped, clutching their midsections, as if trying to hold in the agony.

Kyle was at their side in an instant, his anger forgotten. ”What’s happening?” he demanded, his voice laced with panic. He reached out to Snow, his inward system guide. ’Snow, what’s going on?’

[The injuries they sustained must have surged their ability awakening process. They are awakening their individual abilities, the increase in power triggered by the formation of their core.]

Kyle’s eyes widened as understanding dawned. ”Their abilities are awakening.” he said.

Elara nodded, her expression softening. ”Yes. The experience, the trauma... it’s all part of the process. They are stronger now, Kyle.”

Layla and Lucias straightened, their faces set with determination. ”We feel it.” Layla said, her voice low. ”Something’s changing.”

Lucias’s eyes gleamed with a new intensity. ”We’re ready, Kyle. Whatever comes next, we’re ready.”

Kyle’s gaze lingered on them, a mix of emotions warring on his face. Then, he nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. ”Alright. Let’s see what you’ve got.”

The air was charged with anticipation, the group’s dynamic shifting like the tides. The darkness outside seemed to press in, as if sensing the change in them.

The group fell into a restless silence, the only sound the soft crackling of the candles. Kyle’s mind was a whirlwind of questions, but he knew they needed to focus on the present. He turned to Elara.

”Tell me more about this awakening process.” he said.

Elara’s eyes seemed to gleam with a hidden knowledge. ”The abilities are tied to your core, Kyle. The stronger the core, the stronger the ability. But it comes at a cost.”

”What cost?” Kyle asked, his voice low.

Elara’s expression was cautious. ”The cost of power is always pain, always sacrifice. The more you gain, the more you lose.”

Kyle’s gaze drifted to Lucias and Layla, who were watching him with quiet intensity. ’Snow, can you tell me more about their abilities?’ he asked silently.

[Lucias’s ability seems to be linked to his combat instincts, enhancing his reflexes and strength. Layla’s ability is tied to her senses, heightening her awareness and perception.]

Kyle’s eyes narrowed, processing the information. He turned back to Elara.

”How do we control these abilities?” he asked.

Elara’s smile was enigmatic. ”That, Kyle, is something you’ll have to discover on your own. But for now, rest. Your bodies need time to adjust.”

The group nodded, exhaustion creeping in. As they settled in for the night, Kyle couldn’t shake the feeling that they were being pulled into a storm, one they weren’t prepared for.

Suddenly, Lucias spoke up, his voice low. ”I see something.”

The group turned to him, their faces lit by the flickering candles.

”What is it?” Kyle asked.

Lucias’s eyes were unfocused, his gaze turned inward. ”A vision. A memory, maybe. I see a figure, cloaked and hooded. And a voice, whispering a name... Lyra.”

The room fell silent, the air thick with tension. Kyle’s eyes locked onto Elara’s, a question unspoken.

Elara’s expression was guarded, her eyes flashing with a hint of warning. ”It seems your past is catching up to you, Kyle.”

Kyle’s jaw clenched, his mind racing with possibilities. ’Snow, what do you make of this?’ he asked silently.

[It’s possible Lucias’s ability is linked to the collective unconscious, tapping into hidden knowledge and memories. The figure and the voice could be a message, a warning, or a clue.]

Kyle’s gaze drifted back to Lucias, who was still focused on the vision. ”Tell me more.” he said, his voice low and urgent.

Lucias’s eyes were still unfocussed, his gaze turned inward as he spoke. ”The figure is tall, imposing... its face is hidden in shadows. But I can see its hand, holding a small, ornate box. And the voice... it’s whispering Lyra’s name, over and over.”

The room was heavy with tension, the only sound the soft crackling of the candles. Elara’s expression was guarded, her eyes locked onto Kyle’s.

”What does it mean?” Kyle asked, his voice low and urgent.

Elara’s gaze didn’t watter. ”I don’t know. But it’s clear that Lyra is connected to this... entity, whatever it is.”

Layla’s voice was soft. ”Do you think it’s a threat?”

Kyle’s jaw clenched. ”We don’t know. But we need to find out. ’Snow, can you dig up anything on this figure or the box?’”

[I’m trying, Kyle. But whatever it is, it’s shielded. I can’t get a clear reading.]

Kyle’s eyes narrowed. ”Keep trying. We need answers.”

Lucias’s gaze snapped back to the group, his eyes clearing. ”I think it’s gone. Whatever it was, it’s gone.”

The group fell silent, processing the revelation. Elara stood up, her movements economical.

”Rest now. We’ll talk more in the morning. You all need to recharge.”

As the group nodded, Kyle couldn’t shake the feeling that they were running out of time. He glanced at Lucias and Layla, who were watching him with quiet intensity.

”We’ll figure this out.” he said, his voice low.

The group settled in for the night, the darkness outside pressing in like a living thing. Kyle’s mind was racing, his thoughts consumed by the mysterious figure and the whispered name: Lyra.

’Snow, keep digging.’ he said silently.

[I won’t stop, Kyle.]

The night wore on, the shadows deepening and twisting like living things. And in the darkness, something was watching, waiting.

Every breath of air contained dark energy , filling kyle’s lung. He was worried about the immense output of dark energy here, mainly because of lucias and Layla. But snow calmed his panic they were safe, not being able to sense or use it.

’I still can’t fully access the system.’ Kyle’s face bore a subtle frown, trying to pull up his profile, only to come up empty.

It has been over 48 hours now, since he was locked out most features from the system. But he didn’t falter, the price for power was not an easy task.
