The Versatile Master Artist

The doubts in the grade group were quickly dispelled by Miao Angwen’s own screenshots.

In the photo,

Miao Angwen is leaning against the front of a black Yamaha motorcycle.

He’s holding the latest iPhone in his hand, with a modern woman in a bikini and helmet next to him. The plastic bag hanging from the handlebars is colorful, piled like a mountain with Myanmar Kyat, and even has a golden pet python coiled around it.

”Wow, Rangoon Style, this classmate of yours is really making it big! Fitz’s students are truly wealthy,” said the uncle beside me, clicking his tongue, in an envious tone.

Beauty, cash, and wild animals.

These are the three classic elements of Burmese-style flaunting of wealth.

Such a composition of flaunting wealth even has a specific term called [Rangoon Style], similar to American gang culture and hip-hop fashion trends.

It was popular for a long time on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.

There are many wild animals in the densely jungled Myanmar. Such an adult golden python is docile, requiring a chicken per meal, something only the wealthy can afford.

The more extravagant ones would even include raw jade stones and LV bags in the photos to showcase their wealth.

A South Korea TikTok rapper, ranked among the top ten in follower numbers, once specifically traveled to Yangon to shoot a namesake MV and even bought a tiger for show.

The photo shared in the grade group was a bit rustic, but its effect was outstanding.

Myanmar can never be described as stable.

Warlords, drug lords, fraud.

In troubled regions, at every moment, some people strike it rich while others fall to ruin.

No matter how the money came, money makes the world go round here, where the wealthy are like gods. International schools have an especially strong atmosphere of money worship.

After Miao Angwen demonstrated his ”strength,” proving he wasn’t bluffing,

the atmosphere in the classmates group immediately shifted.

”Damn, are you serious? Did you win the lottery!”

”Awesome, Boss Miao, remember us classmates when you get rich!”

”The golden python is so cool, and of course, the babe next to you is even hotter, so envious. If a party has such girls, I’m sticking with Brother Miao from now on.”

Seeing that Miao Angwen might really be inviting the whole grade for a party at a villa, the classmates who thought he was just showboating immediately became lively.

Even the girls started getting involved in the discussion.

”The latest Apple phone, this starlight color is so hard to get, went to several physical stores and couldn’t find it. The bike is pretty cool, did you buy it?”

A cheerleader girl noticed the bike in the background and discreetly inquired, ”Looks like it should be quite pricey.”

”A big shot gave it to me as a gift, with a displacement of more than 1000cc, worth at least 10,000 dollars.” Miao Angwen typed with great pride.

”Yamaha R1? Good motorcycle taste, a 10,000-dollar price is understated, it should be at least 17,000. Last year on my birthday, my dad finally agreed to buy me a bike, and I hesitated for a long time between the R1 and Ducati Diavel, finally, Dad thought European bikes were more reliable in electronic control, safer, and decided on the Ducati, cost nearly 20 thousand dollars.”

Even Jerry in the group was stirred to speak.

He praised Miao Angwen’s bike while showing off his motorcycle collection.

”So expensive! Big boss awesome, I’d love to have such a gift too.”

”So handsome, when I used to watch Cantonese film ’Heavenly Love,’ I dreamed of having a prince like Liu Dehua, riding a heavy motorcycle, taking me for a ride,” said an outspoken girl, boldly confessing, ”If any guy has such a heart, I’ll be his girlfriend.”

”Stop being horny, Bitch, Jerry’s back seat belongs to Miss Sande Nu.” A girl secretly in love with Jerry said acidly, ”Jerry likes cool and aloof girls like Miss Sande Nu, not someone like you, who’s been with a third of the boys in the grade, a public transport slut.”

”Fuck, who are you calling a slut!”

”Hahaha, someone’s jealous, maybe they actually want to sit on Miao’s back seat, though.”

Southeast Asia’s motorcycle culture thrives, having the highest motorcycle density globally, with many places allowing a motorcycle license at fifteen.

Everywhere on the streets, you can see teenagers wearing flip-flops, riding scooters to help their families deliver goods and fruits, weaving through alleyways.

Some don’t even seem to be fifteen yet.

Traffic cops usually turn a blind eye to licensing issues.

While ordinary students are chasing the latest phones, League of Legends ranks, or Xbox games,

rich kids like Jerry have started racing.

Why motorcycles and not sports cars like Porsche 911s or Mercedes-AMG? Actually... their parents, who work as high-level regional managers in multinational corporations, aren’t that wealthy either.

The Fitzgerald family’s affluent annual income is about ten thousand US dollars.

Buying high-end sports cars for kids is too luxurious.

Motorcycles in Myanmar are generally tax-free, making them not hard to buy as birthday gifts for boys.

Motorcycles have integrated into Southeast Asian daily life. In the United States or Canada, the percentage of high school students driving themselves to school is not low; in Myanmar, it’s motorcycles.

Even when Koukou didn’t want to sit in the family police car, she’d occasionally ride a sleek, beautiful, British-imported silver Triumph retro motorcycle to school.

Paired with a pink helmet and sunglasses, with silky hair and a slender figure, she indeed looked quite cool.
