The Ultimate Evolution

The scene being displayed on the screen in front of Mungo was shaking violently, evidently because Cyborg No. 1, who was feeding the video, was running.

Suddenly, a huge force of forward thrust was transmitted from behind him. Cyborg No. 1 rolled forward and then crawled on the ground on all fours. He turned his head around and saw a violent explosion about five meters behind him. After the explosion, a pit up to a meter deep appeared on the ground. Smoke was still rising from the pit, and a large amount of soil rained down from the sky and hit the cyborg in the face.

The one who gave Cyborg No. 1 a push was none other than Sheyan.

The cyborg had now become the most important person to Sheyan just for the offline database in his head alone. The data of the organisms in this place, collected by the semi-dead spaceship over several years, was nothing less than priceless for the contestants!

Suddenly, there was another flash of light. A half-naked man in the style of Rambo who was firing a gun just a moment ago was hit by a high-energy plasma ball. His body immediately split into seven or eight pieces, blood splattering all over.

A cyborg tried to escape, but he was caught up in a net that had suddenly appeared from nowhere. He struggled frantically, but only managed to get himself more entangled in the net. The net suddenly tightened and shrunk!

The cyborg was instantly cut into walnut-sized pieces by the sharp mesh which made up the net. Milky-white nutrient solution stained the ground.

On the trees and the open ground nearby, there were about 5 or 6 bloody corpses! They were the humans who were standing watch at the outer periphery of the camp. Their skins were completely peeled off!

The situation was in total chaos. Attacks seemed to be coming from all over the place. There were invisible enemies everywhere in the jungle!

Sheyan closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He suddenly threw a curse-mix at an open space to his right. The curse-mix, after traveling more than ten meters through the air, bizarrely shattered half a meter above the ground!

An invisible shockwave immediately spread. The light green liquid from the curse-mix bizarrely adhered to the air, dripping down and producing some strange sparks. Then, the outline of a figure emerged from the empty air. His tentacles rose like snakes.

A Predator!!!

Stealth devices were standard equipment for these powerful creatures, but the biggest enemy of these devices was water. Sheyan could easily cause a temporary short-circuit in them.

Although Sheyan had long guessed the answer, his heart still skipped a beat when he saw a Predator for the first time. However, he reacted very quickly; he charged forward with his body bent low.

At the same time, the gigantic Ramtas simply bent down and shot out three sharp, long spikes. They accurately hit the Predator’s back, but were bounced away by his armour with a dull clank.

The spikes were ineffective, but Sheyan managed to reach the Predator before the Predator recovered from his stunned state. Sheyan gave the Predator a punch to the chin. There was a clear illusionary image of a huge fist on Sheyan’s hand, and it sent the Predator flying upwards. Fluorescent emerald blood gushed everywhere, a pretty sight in the dark night.

‘Uppercut’!

At that moment, Ronnie emerged from the darkness like a ghost, calmly placing a ‘Mark of Death’ on the Predator. While the Predator was falling to the ground, Ronnie crossed his daggers and slashed across him!

The spots of emerald in the darkness, which were initially as sparse as dots of stars, suddenly thickened, like a spray of paint on a canvas. A few spots landed on Ronnie even though he had immediately retreated.

The Predator uttered a howl of agony, sounding both human-like and beast-like! Even as Ronnie retreated, he wedged a dagger into the enemy’s body and dragged it as he pulled away, cutting open another terrible wound.

The injured Predator regained his mobility upon landing.

Not far away, another Predator emerged and ran at high speed in Sheyan’s direction. He threw something like a flying disc at Sheyan. While the disc drew an arc in the air, five sharp blades suddenly popped out from the edge!

Sparks flew everywhere it passed through. It cut through anything, be they trees or rocks!

This was another standard weapon for the Predators: the shuriken.

This weapon could easily cut an ordinary enemy into two halves. It made the well-trained Predators extremely powerful. In the appropriate visual mode, the shuriken would automatically lock on to the nearest target, otherwise it would just fly in a straight line. The Predators could recall a flying or stationary shuriken from its current position, but it would consume some energy. The Predators could also hold a shuriken to be used as a melee weapon.

Sheyan coldly stretched out his left hand without even turning back to look and accurately intercepted the shuriken!

The eerie sound of a blade cutting through muscles and bones ensued. Sheyan firmly held onto the shuriken, but half his palm was cut open, and blood came splattering out.

At the same time, he had to face the counter attack of the ferocious and dangerous Predator who had been seriously injured. The Predator clenched his fist, and sharp wrist blades like Wolverine’s claws immediately shot out. He swung the claws down violently onto Sheyan’s head!

Sheyan’s eyes narrowed. He was about to use the dark green glove on his right hand to block the claws when suddenly, from the trees next to them, a thick rattan lashed out like a whip to wrap itself around the wrist of the Predator!

The strength of plants naturally could not compete with the amazing strength of a Predator, but an inferior force could still deflect a superior force through clever maneuvers. Before it was broken, the rattan pulled the Predator’s wrist to the side and cleverly maneuvered the Predator’s attack away from Sheyan. It was Dardanian who had come to help.

Sheyan seized the opportunity and took a big step forward, ramming his whole body into the Predator.

He slammed his head fiercely onto the Predator’s mask. The mask immediately broke and fell off, revealing the trapezoidal mouthpiece of the Predator and his sharp fangs.

While the Predator was still dizzy, Sheyan took the chance to launch a knee at the Predator’s crotch. However, not much damage was done. Obviously, the physiological structure of the Predators differ from that of humans.

But the injured Predator did not seize the opportunity to fight back. He howled again and tried to turn around with all his might because Ronnie had taken advantage of the situation to sneak in like a wolf once more and tore off a piece of the enemy’s flesh before immediately retreating again. He hid in the darkness in wait for the next chance!

Ramtas shot his spikes again in the distance, this time into the wounds made by Ronnie. The Predator struggled wildly in severe pain and unexpectedly burst out with great strength, kicking Sheyan away.

Sheyan was wondering why the Predator who threw the shuriken previously had not come to help yet. He then realised that it was because the Predator was currently entangled with an Ent. Yes, indeed, he was entangled. This particular Ent looked like a vine handicraft artwork magnified many times. Its whole body was made up of tough, strong vines. Once entangled by it, it was like being bound from head to toe! With every vine that the Predator managed to sever, two more would fly out from the jungle to add to the collection on his body.

This was obviously also the work of Dardanian. Sheyan had something on him, so of course he would try his best to display his worth in battle. By now, Sheyan had gradually realised that these Predators were not very strong, and they numbered less than 10. That was why they did their best to create chaos before the fight started.

This discovery left Sheyan in contemplation.

What Sheyan could see, Mungo could as well. This was not to say that Mungo was better than Sheyan in this aspect, but because Mungo was on the outside looking in, so he could get a better grasp of the situation. He was also looking at the scene from the perspective of Cyborg No. 1, a marginal figure of no importance, so of course he had a better view of the battlefield too.

Seeing the situation gradually stabilising, Mungo was eager to find out what had happened, so he played back the feed on another monitor.

He rewinded to the part where Sheyan was flung away by skull man Tom’s fierce throwing skill. It was the first time Sheyan had encountered such a crazy attack, and he did take a heavy blow. He had only just pathetically climbed back up from the ground when Tom had charged towards him again. Tom grabbed Sheyan and hurled him to a rock nearby.

Sheyan tried hard to get out of this situation, but the opponent kept using his throwing technique as soon as he got close, completely restraining Sheyan.

The only consolation Sheyan had was that the super high HP he had painstakingly built up played a huge role in this fight. At least, it should be able to let him hold out until the outbreak of the disease in this ferocious fellow. When that time comes, the situation would be reversed in a most dramatic fashion, thought Sheyan with a cold glint flashing in his eyes.

However, the Predators robbed Sheyan of the chance to turn the tables. Tom’s powerful performance had attracted the attention of the Predators; they did not hesitate to list him as the most threatening target. When they were ready, they used the weapon with the greatest power among the standard equipments they carried – the shoulder cannon – and concentrated fire on Tom. As for Sheyan who was beaten so badly he could not even fight back, he was classified as garbage and not worth their attention.
