The Quest for Immortality

Mo Hua’s gaze was momentarily lost, but then gradually sharpened again.

He abandoned distractions, focused his mind, and began to study the ”Shura Battle” format.

The so-called Shura Battle was once the decisive showdown in the Qianxue Sword Discussion Conference, advancing from Earth to Heaven.

The participating disciples would fight, kill, flee, and survive in the vast and complex sword discussion arenas, using their sects as factions and small teams as units.

The rankings of the disciples would be determined based on their order of elimination.

Based on the disciples’ rankings, victory points would be added to the sect.

As the former ”Heaven Level Advancement Battle,” the Shura Battle offered a large number of victory points.

The longer one survives, the more victory points they gain.

These victory points are enough to change the current sect rankings in sword discussions.

Inside this lies a great opportunity.

Of course, it also contains great risk.

This means that if one performs well in the Shura Battle, the sect may advance even further.

If one performs poorly, the sect’s ranking might further decline.

Of course, such disparity ultimately depends on the previous sword discussion rankings.

After all, the Shura Battle is merely a sword discussion.

No matter how significant its weight, it’s insufficient to allow a bottom-ranked member of the Eight Great Gates to leap up to the position of the Four Great Sects.

Under normal circumstances, it’s typically a fluctuation of three or four ranks.

This doesn’t matter to ordinary sects.

Especially for the Twelve Streams and Qianxue Hundred Gates.

The rise or fall of three or four ranks is mostly irrelevant.

But for the Eight Great Gates, especially the foremost among them, and the Four Great Sects, this ranking is crucial.

Even advancing by just one or two ranks could drastically change a sect’s status.

Similarly, falling back by one or two ranks could cause a significant loss to sect interests.

Moreover, the Shura Battle is extremely tough.

Its difficulty is likely several times higher than the regular sword discussions.

Because this is a sect melee.

The stronger the sect, the greater their advantage.

Especially among the Four Great Sects, where disciples have great talent, strong strength, and many teams advance to Earth Level Sword Discussion, led by top prodigies.

Compared to ordinary sects or even the Eight Great Gates, they are completely on a different level.

And there are as many as four of such ”giant” sects.

These giant sects, led by top prodigies, have the advantage of numbers, high average cultivation, and strong power, basically able to start ”sweeping the map” in such Shura Battles.

Other sects stand no chance against them.

It seems there is an opportunity to advance further, but the opportunity is also pathetically small.

The five-person team format of sword discussion, if they can’t win against prodigies like Xiao Wuchen or Shen Linsu,

There is even less hope in the larger chaotic battle.

But for most sects, their goal is not to focus on the Four Great Sects.

Their goal is more to focus on the sect ranking one or two places above them.

Dragging them down a notch allows themselves to climb up a bit.

Sword Discussion Conference, sect rankings, any upward movement is a good thing, meaning a share of Qianlong Spirit Mine, meaning a large amount of ”gold and silver” like Spirit Stones.

Therefore, they won’t aim too high.

But Mo Hua is different; his ambition is greater.

He wants to ascend to the highest position in one leap, and what lies before him is the ”Four Great Sects,” these four great mountains.

And even beyond that, besides the Four Great Sects, there are the other seven sects in the ”Eight Great Gates.”

Together, there are eleven mountains in total.

Furthermore, there are some small mountains with which grudges have been borne in the Twelve Streams.

Thinking of this, the Taixu Gate faces innumerable difficulties in this Shura Battle, making victory impossible.

There seems to be a slight chance.

But the chance is almost invisible.

So much so that just as Mo Hua felt a glimmer of hope, he also felt despair...

Mo Hua took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down.

In great events, one must remain calm.

The more one desires something, the more one fears losing it, the calmer one must stay.

Mo Hua took out a thick stack of Formation Papers and began to list all the ”enemies” he needed to deal with.

Analyzing the disciple information collected since the Sword Discussion Conference, one by one.

Enumerating all the difficulties, one by one.

And calculating all cause and effect, all possible encounters, one by one.

Then considering ways to respond to each.

The battle situation of the Shura Battle was pre-simulated and evolved in Mo Hua’s mind...

Using vast Divine Sense, meticulous thinking, and powerful Heavenly secret Calculation, recognizing and controlling reality, to see through Heavenly secrets, evolve cause and effect, seeking that sliver of nearly impossible victory in the rugged depths...

...

Mo Hua was calculating, planning.

At the Qianxue state boundary, sect leaders and elders from various sects, as well as a large number of high-ranking cultivators, were likewise discussing and plotting.

Some sects with connections would even send letters, keeping each other informed.

How should the Shura Battle be fought?

Gradually, a consensus formed among everyone:

”Joint strategy, first eliminate the Taixu Gate.”

Among these, naturally lies some old grievances.

Tai’a Sect once held the top position among the Eight Great Gates, coveting the Four Great Sects’ position for a long time, clashing interests with the Four Great Sects, causing conflict.

And because of being the leading Eight Great Gate, it was also coveted by the other Eight Great Gates.

Chongxu Sect conducted affairs indifferently, but being allied with Tai’a Sect, offering mutual support, it was also unliked.

As for the Taixu Gate, it goes without saying.

Among the Four Great Sects, especially the Qian Path Sect where the Shen Family is located, they practically despise the Taixu Gate.

In the newly promoted Eight Great Gates,

Sever Gold Sect has a grudge with the Taixu Gate.

Gui Water Sect has a rift with the Taixu Gate.

The roots of these grudges lie with Mo Hua, but the blame certainly falls on the Taixu Gate.
