The Quest for Immortality

This ”Tumo Treasure Manual” is indeed useful.

The next argument in the earth site sword discussion, against the Vajra Sect, Mo Hua’s formation was severely restricted.

Conventional formations aren’t very difficult to deal with, especially for those senior Elders of Formation Arts from the Qian Learning State Boundary.

The general formation patterns of Mo Hua were indeed within their deductions.

The shortcomings of the formation itself were further magnified. .

For example, formation formation is slow—even if Mo Hua draws fast, it still requires a certain amount of time, with fixed formation sites, various limitations on formation media, etc.

Moreover, once the formation is set up, it will leave some traces behind, more or less.

Mo Hua’s formation techniques are sophisticated and originally not easy to detect.

But no matter how advanced his techniques, they couldn’t withstand so many Formation Elders who scrutinize every detail with mass simulations.

Moreover, the venues for sword discussion at Mount of Tao, although complex and varied, are generally fixed.

They are artificially created according to certain ”templates”.

Unlike the true wilderness and chaotic ”wildlands” of Big Black Mountain and Refining Demon Mountain.

Formations are difficult to truly ”conceal”.

Under these circumstances, Mo Hua’s originally brilliant formation techniques also couldn’t appear as ”brilliant”.

In the matchup against Vajra Sect, although eventually they won, it was primarily thanks to Linghu Xiao and the others.

Mo Hua went back to his old tricks, using spells to ”get by”.

Due to the failure of the formation, it was of no use.

Mo Hua, the ”Formation Leader”, gradually lost his aura in the eyes of the watching cultivators, becoming ”ordinary”:

”See, I told you, just knowing formations is useless.”

”This is the Sword Discussion Conference, even if he’s the formation leader, he’ll have to tuck his claws and tail.”

”His formation skills, at best, lasted for three or four rounds. Now it’s back to its original form.”

”Cultivators still have to rely on their own cultivation; without strong strength, always relying on external forces won’t take you far...”

”This is the Sword Discussion Conference, not talking about swordsmanship, but at least you should learn a superior skill, right?”

”Don’t mention it, his spiritual power is pitifully low, even if he learned superior skill, he couldn’t use it...”

”Forget it, don’t make it hard for him, there’s no worthwhile sword technique heritage in the Taixu Gate to teach him anyway.”

”Yeah, Taixu Gate is just too bad...”

...

The disciples of Taixu Gate heard these discussions.

They were indignant but had no justification to refute.

Tai’a heritage is Sword Casting.

Chongxu’s heritage is Sword Qi.

Taixu’s heritage is the intangible, untouchable Sword Intent, which can’t really be cultivated at the Foundation Establishment Realm.

Even though some parts of the heritage are shared thanks to the Three Sects Unification, superior sword techniques still belong to the Chongxu lineage.

The Taixu lineage indeed doesn’t have a remarkable sword technique, especially at the Foundation Establishment stage.

Previously, the sword techniques taught to disciples by Taixu Gate were not bad, but that was compared to ordinary sect heritage.

In the Sword Discussion Conference, compared to the heritage of the Four Sects and Eight Gates, many top sect heritages.

The sword techniques that Taixu Gate had taught to their disciples were truly unworthy of mention.

Even truly bringing them out would have a sense of embarrassment and disgrace.

Others criticized Taixu Gate’s formations as ineffective.

The disciples of Taixu Gate would not be upset because their Junior Brother is Qianxue Formation Path Leader, an unparalleled genius in formations.

Others mocked them, they would only smirk coldly and scoff at the stupidity of others.

But if others criticized Taixu Gate’s sword techniques as ineffective.

The disciples of Taixu Gate would indeed become angry.

Because the sword technique heritage of their Taixu Gate is really ineffective...

In the entire Sword Discussion Conference, not a single outstanding performer from Taixu Gate learned the sword techniques of Taixu Gate.

Linghu Xiao and Ouyang Xuan, not to mention.

They weren’t even from the Taixu lineage.

Besides them, Situ Jian learned the Li Fire Sword of his family.

Cheng Mo used an axe, didn’t use a sword at all.

And Mo Hua didn’t even use spiritual artifacts, he relied on spells and formations.

Therefore, when ridiculed by others that ”Taixu Gate’s sword techniques are ineffective”, ”Taixu Gate’s sword techniques don’t measure up”, ”Taixu Gate has no Sword Dao Heritage”, ”No Sword Dao Heritage but participating in sword discussion?”... words like these.

Most Taixu Gate disciples could only bottle up their anger inside and couldn’t voice it.

...

From the overall situation of the sword discussion, the Taixu Gate was winning.

On the other hand, Daluo Sect was also winning.

Even because Daluo Sect is deep with foundation, ”one sect, two prodigies”, two prodigies each led a team, they won slightly more matches than Taixu Gate.

As a result, the victories of the two sects were nearly on par.

Only one match difference.

If Taixu Gate falls behind by one match, they’ll have to relinquish the leader position of the Eight Great Gates.

This ”dangerous” gap attracted not knowing how many forces and cultivators to pay attention.

Everyone wanted to know, ultimately who would be the leader of the Eight Great Gates.

Which sect, Taixu Gate or Daluo Sect, would make it to the end.

Under this tense atmosphere, the Dao Discussion Heaven Instrument timely deduced the list for the next sword discussion:

Decapitation match.

Taixu Gate versus Daluo Sect.

This timing was just too coincidental.

So coincidental that Mo Hua even suspected that this Dao Discussion Heaven Instrument was not a magic treasure, but had already ”gained a spirit”.

It intentionally arranged this matchup to catch the eye, to create a ”big spectacle” at this critical moment.

Thus, this sword discussion was extremely significant.

Whoever wins becomes the first of the Eight Gates.

Whoever loses becomes the defeated, eating the dust.

This round was almost a bloody and desperate ”must-win” match.
