The Quest for Immortality

Of course, except for the Mini Meteorite Skill.

This was learned from Fire Buddha.

Water Passing Step is also excluded.

This was taught by Uncle Zhang Lan.

Oh right, the Sever Gold Sword Control Jue is also excluded.

This was seized from the human trafficker Boss Jiang...

As Mo Hua thought about it, he felt a bit guilty.

Many of the Taoist Skills he possessed were seemingly not taught by the Sect.

Luckily, Gu Changhuai didn’t mind and instead asked, ”Are you saying that within the Taixu Gate, the Water Prison Sect’s inheritance is recorded?”

”Yes,” Mo Hua nodded, ”It’s the Water Prison Technique I often use.”

Gu Changhuai frowned slightly, ”That’s strange...”

”What’s strange?” Mo Hua was curious.

But Gu Changhuai didn’t say and just shook his head, speaking lightly:

”It’s nothing.”

Uncle Gu was all good, except that he wasn’t sociable and sometimes liked to keep secrets.

Mo Hua silently shook his head.

However, when he thought about it carefully, he also felt that this matter was a bit puzzling.

He had to investigate it thoroughly later...

Gu Changhuai said, ”It’s getting late, you need to return to the Sect for cultivation. The Water Yama matter, I’ll keep an eye on it and capture him soon...”

But he knew that this matter was likely not so simple.

Judging from this confrontation, Water Yama was certainly not an ordinary character.

Mo Hua asked again, ”What about that Instructor from Hundred Flower Valley?”

Gu Changhuai responded with a displeased face, ”I’ve found someone to monitor her.”

”Finding someone to monitor isn’t enough,” Mo Hua said. ”You should watch her yourself, preferably invite her a few times, have some meals, drink some tea. It’s both to dispel her suspicions and to gather more information...”

Gu Changhuai was stared at intently by Mo Hua. After thinking for a moment, he reluctantly agreed:

”Alright...”

Mo Hua nodded satisfied.

After that, he took the carriage with Gu Changhuai all the way back to Qingzhou City.

Arriving at the Gu Family in Qingzhou City, he shared a meal with Aunt Wan and Yu Er, and then rode the Gu Family’s carriage to return stably to Taixu Gate.

Following matters, including the aftermath at the inn, bandit cultivator recruitment, Hua Ruyu’s side’s appeasement, and Water Yama’s investigation, Mo Hua temporarily did not interfere.

Even if he wanted to inquire, he couldn’t.

Being in the Sect, he couldn’t reach out, there wasn’t much he could do.

He could only leave these matters to Uncle Gu and occasionally use the Letter Token to ask about the progress.

Moreover, he had his own matters to investigate.

Returning to the Sect, Mo Hua settled Yu Er and returned to the Disciple’s Residence.

All around was quiet.

Mo Hua immediately took out the Taixu Token and flipped through the pages one by one in the ”Merit Scroll”. Within a cup of tea’s time, he found the record related to the Water Prison Technique:

”Water Prison Technique, rare spell...”

”Formerly an Ultimate Technique of the Water Prison Sect, not propagated.”

”In the winter of Taoist Calendar 19080, the entire Sect of Water Prison Sect fell into the Demon path, suppressed by the Taoist Court, and exterminated thereafter, the Water Prison Technique spread, scattered across the world, but the spell was largely incomplete...”

”In Taoist Calendar 19900, True Man Yi compiled this technique into a book, included in Taixu Gate...”

”The functionality of the Water Prison Technique is obscure, easy to learn but difficult to master, choose carefully.”

Mo Hua stroked his chin, silently contemplating.

Taoist Calendar 19080 winter...

Calculating, it’s been nearly a thousand years.

This is already quite an old event.

Uncle Gu is only over two hundred years old, before he was born, the Water Prison Sect was long exterminated, so it’s understandable he didn’t know.

But the same question persists.

The entire Sect fell into the Demon path...

The inheritance of the Water Prison Sect, by its name alone, should be proper water series cultivation techniques and Taoist Skills.

If so, how could the entire Sect suddenly fall into the Demon path?

”Having one or two fall into the Demon path can be understood, even if the majority of the disciples fell into the Demon path isn’t impossible, but ’entire Sect’ into the Demon path is quite peculiar.”

One bad apple spoils the whole barrel.

But a whole barrel can’t be entirely bad apples...

The entire Sect fell into the Demon path, then was suppressed and eradicated, being so absolute, there must be something fishy within.

Another strange point is the timing when the Water Prison Technique was included.

”In Taoist Calendar 19900, True Man Yi compiled the Water Prison Technique, and included it in Taixu Gate.”

This time point is just over a hundred years ago.

The Water Prison Sect was exterminated over a thousand years ago, but the Water Prison Technique was included in Taixu Gate only over a hundred years ago.

There’s an interval of nearly nine hundred years in between.

Thinking about it is quite incongruous.

”Water Prison Sect, Water Yama...”

Mo Hua’s mind again recalled Water Yama’s shocked expression upon seeing the Water Prison Technique, causing him to furrow his brows.

The Water Prison Technique seems ineffective against Water Yama?

This obscure, rare, hard to master yet extremely useful control spell seems to be precisely countered by Water Yama’s cultivation of water energy.

This shouldn’t be a coincidence.

”Could Water Yama’s entire skillset... be related to the exiled Water Prison Sect?”

Besides ignoring the control of the Water Prison Technique, there are two more spells on Water Yama that Mo Hua particularly focused on.

One is Water Yama’s movement technique.

This movement technique, like Water Passing Step, is also a water system body skill. However, when performed, its actions are more elusive, with hidden murderous intent in the water shadow.

Mo Hua couldn’t help but think, if he could master this movement technique and try to merge it with Water Passing Step, wouldn’t his movement technique greatly improve?

By then, the movement technique wouldn’t only be used for hiding, but could also confuse enemies during frontal engagements and secretly attack.

Another technique, also the most important one...

Is the Pupil Skill!

Water Yama’s eyes can gather Evil Qi and release it through the eyes, intimidating the mind and spirit of others!

This pupil skill is very powerful and hard to defend against.

Even the Golden Core Realm Uncle Gu was caught off guard by this Taoist Skill.

Eyes emitting Evil Qi!

This Taoist Skill, in form, surprisingly resembles the method of ”Eyes Emitting Sword Light” used by the legendary former Sword Cultivator of Taixu Gate that Lord Yellow Mountain mentioned, achieving a similar effect.

If this spell could also be obtained and comprehended...

Could I then be able to use my eyes as a pivotal point, transform Divine Thought into a sword and release it externally to kill the enemy?

Mo Hua’s gaze grew more excited.

This Water Yama, a treasure just like Fire Buddha.
