The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 969: Chapter 969: Acupuncture for Cancer Treatment

Once the classroom finally quieted down, Hua Dongxu began to continue teaching.

He didn’t use presentation slides, nor did he need a textbook, because he wasn’t a professional teacher. In class, he narrated medical cases that he had personally experienced over the years. So, the classroom atmosphere was lively and interesting.

Such practical experience was extremely valuable for the students present.

Listening to others’ experiences is not less valuable than knowledge from professional books.

Hua Dongxu stood on the podium, speaking eloquently, occasionally posing questions for the students to answer. Naturally, there were many students willing to raise their hands and answer, making the class atmosphere vibrant.

Before long, most of the class time had passed.

Hua Dongxu stood at the center of the lectern and said, ”The next case occurred five years ago when I was an intern at a hospital. The situation was extremely dangerous, you could say it was a matter of life and death.”

”The patient was a 53-year-old woman suffering from an intracranial brain tumor, or brain cancer. It originated from the cranial nerves, causing headaches, dizziness, and epilepsy among other symptoms. Before the surgery, it also caused the pulse to slow and blood pressure to rise. Through EEG, MRI, and brain CT scans, we determined its position on the left side of the brain, with convex deformity and uneven surface, potentially leading to death.”

”So, how would you handle such a condition?”

Previously, no matter what question Hua Dongxu asked, there were always many students raising their hands, but unexpectedly this time, the class fell silent, and only one person raised her hand.

The hand-raiser was a girl sitting in the front row. Upon seeing her, the classroom erupted with exclamations.

”It’s Xv Zhina!”

Hua Dongxu looked at the confident yet petite girl and showed a wry smile.

He truly didn’t want this girl to shine again. The reason he posed such a question was to hear Lin Tian’s opinion, but unexpectedly, Xv Zhina had raised her hand.

Having no alternative, as she was the only one who raised her hand, Hua Dongxu had to say, ”Zhina, share your thoughts.”

Xv Zhina stood up, her eyes shining as she looked at Hua Dongxu, confidently saying, ”At this time, first have the family sign a surgical consent form, and prepare for surgery. Depending on the situation, perform a surgical operation, followed by radiation therapy, or chemotherapy. As for dietary therapy and traditional medicine, they are not suitable in this case as they are too slow in effect.”

Once she finished speaking, several boys next to her started applauding, regardless of right or wrong.

These days they always did this; as long as Xv Zhina spoke, they would applaud immediately, and she had not been wrong in her answers lately.

With others leading the applause, others in the classroom also began to applaud in succession.

Hua Dongxu nodded and said, ”Yes, Xv Zhina’s suggestions are correct; both solutions are valid, but both involve risks and considerable harm to the patient. Do you have any other ideas?”

Xv Zhina slightly furrowed her delicate eyebrows, thought for a few seconds, and eventually shook her head. In such a critical situation, what other methods are there besides cutting the Gordian knot?

”Teacher, I have no other solutions. So, what did the hospital do at the time?” Xv Zhina asked.

Hua Dongxu said, ”Just as you suggested, chemotherapy surgery was conducted.”

Xv Zhina’s eyebrows furrowed even more deeply. ”Then do you have any other suggestions?”

”I have none. To this day, I still think that surgery was quite successful, but extremely perilous. Thinking back now still makes my heart pound.”

Xv Zhina was even more puzzled. If so, why did you ask if I had other suggestions?

”The answer is very good, please sit down, Xv Zhina.”

Once Xv Zhina sat down, Hua Dongxu cast his gaze toward Lin Tian again. Noticing he appeared unperturbed, whispering with his large companion, left Hua Dongxu twitching at the corners of his mouth. This guy was utterly disrespectful to both himself and medical craftsmanship.

”Lin Tian,” Hua Dongxu called out.

Lin Tian thought he had been caught whispering with Meng Nan again, and quickly sat up straight.

”Do you have any other opinions?” Hua Dongxu asked again.

Lin Tian was somewhat bewildered; he had been talking too intently with Meng Nan and hadn’t listened to the lecture.

He blinked and hastily replied, ”Teacher, I have no other opinions.”

Upon hearing this answer, for some reason, Xv Zhina’s heart felt lighter, and she lifted her head proudly like a little princess.

Hua Dongxu asked mildly, ”Do you know what question I just asked?”

”Uh...sorry, I was distracted, I don’t know.”

”This is a classroom, so I hope you’ll pay more attention. I’ll repeat what I said earlier: regarding this brain cancer surgery, Xv Zhina suggested chemotherapy. Do you have any other opinions?”

When he finished speaking, the entire classroom seemed to collectively hold its breath, with some people so nervous they could hear their own heartbeats.

Lin Tian initially planned to keep shaking his head, but when he caught Liou Qingcheng’s encouraging yet slightly threatening gaze, he slowly stood up. He answered, ”Yes.”

Phew~

Countless people felt a sense of relief.

Xv Zhina and her peers, on the other hand, started feeling a bit nervous.

”Share your thoughts,” Hua Dongxu said.

”Everyone’s familiar with chemotherapy, using chemical drugs to kill cancer cells for treatment purposes. For cancer, the first thing most people think of is this, although effective, it greatly harms the patient with significant side effects such as nausea, vomiting, digestive system reactions, bone marrow suppression, hair loss, kidney damage, etc. Unless necessary, I do not recommend this medical method.”

At this moment, a boy from the front row spoke in broken Celestial Dragon Continent’s language, ”Then give a mature suggestion.”

”Heh,” Lin Tian chuckled and continued, ”I vaguely remember Xv Zhina mentioned that traditional medicine and dietary treatment are too slow, thus unsuitable, right?”

Xv Zhina responded, ”Correct.”

”I believe that our traditional medicine has other methods for this brain tumor,” Lin Tian stated.

”For example?”

”Acupuncture. First, needle the Baihui acupoint in the brain, then target the liver region, as the liver supports detoxification, followed by foot massage targeting the lymph node, as lymph nodes also support detoxification. Lastly, combine these with three strong medicine prescriptions and a month of traditional medical treatment, and the ailment will be cured.”

Xv Zhina snorted lightly, saying, ”Who has tried your method? You say it’s usable, yet lacking practical evidence, how can one be convinced?”

Lin Tian chuckled softly, ”This method has been used by our predecessors in Celestial Dragon Continent’s medicine. I am confident in my medical ethics and integrity that it has remarkable effects. If you don’t believe me, ask Teacher Hua Dongxu whether I have the capability?”

Hua Dongxu’s face darkened, remembering how this young man recently revived Jin Guard, he had no choice but to respond, ”I believe in Lin Tian, he can do it.”
