The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 888: Chapter 888: Fireworks and Beauties

The five waiters following behind Lin Tian placed the fireworks from the cart one by one in the snow.

There were also various lengths of firework tubes, which he had specially arranged for Wu Yong to buy in advance. All of them were custom-made.

These long tube fireworks, though having only one cannon, had effects that were incomparable to others.

Lin Tian walked up to Mei Ruyan and smiled, ”You pick one first.”

Mei Ruyan shook her head; she liked watching fireworks but had never set them off herself.

Liou Qingcheng, with a clean smile, said excitedly like a child, ”Let me, let me.”

Saying that, she took a long firework tube from Lin Tian’s arms and looked at it up and down, really not knowing how to set it off.

Lin Tian helped her tear open the firework tube’s packaging to reveal a long fuse, then handed her a lighter and said, ”Be careful.”

Liou Qingcheng curiously fiddled with the firework tube and asked without looking up, ”Do I hold it in my hand to set it off?”

Lin Tian laughed, ”You can also place it on the ground.”

”I’ll try.” Liou Qingcheng placed the tube of fireworks on the snow, fearing it was unstable and buried it with some snow around it.

She excitedly lit the fuse, which made a sizzling sound.

Liou Qingcheng hurriedly covered her ears and ran back from afar, but her face was radiant with a full smile.

Whoosh~

The fuse finally burned to the end, the firework tube shook all over, and a bright glow shot out from the tube mouth, accompanied by a clear whistle, flying straight into the sky.

Bang~

The fireworks exploded high in the sky, scattering countless small clusters of sparks.

Crackling, crackling...

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, various colors dyed the pitch-black sky, and the falling snow also became translucent and bright, like countless drops of light rain falling.

The sparks didn’t vanish like ordinary fireworks but swayed in the wind as the cold wind blew, emitting a glow that descended obliquely, just like shooting stars falling from the sky.

Liou Qingcheng, Bai Shishi, and Mei Ruyan all gazed up intently at this scene.

”Wow, so beautiful, don’t you think they look like shooting stars?” Liou Qingcheng pointed at the countless points of light in the sky, pulling Lin Tian’s arm jumping up and down, her face radiating sheer joy.

Whoosh~

As the cold night wind blew, those lights also gradually descended, the brilliance fading away into darkness.

”I’ll set off another one!” While speaking, Liou Qingcheng also grabbed the arms of Mei Ruyan and Bai Shishi, shouting like an overgrown child, ”Come on, come on, there are so many left.”

Bai Shishi and Mei Ruyan exchanged a glance, being dragged away by her with mixed feelings.

Each holding a lighter, after Liou Qingcheng counted ’1, 2, 3’, the three of them simultaneously lit the fuses, this time lighting 36-shot large tube fireworks that could last for a long time.

Sizzle...

As the fuses started burning, Liou Qingcheng hurriedly ran back as if the fireworks would explode on the spot.

Seeing Liou Qingcheng run away, Bai Shishi and Mei Ruyan, like two kindergarten kids, chased her with ’giggles’ of laughter.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...

Three clusters of sparks rose high into the sky, then exploded with a ’bangs’.

One cluster of fireworks was beautiful, but there was always a sense of loneliness to it. Now, with three clusters exploding simultaneously, the entire sky lit up brightly with a riot of colors, impossible not to focus entirely on them.

Aside from the sound of fireworks bursting, Lin Tian also heard the chirping laughter of the three women beside him.

Lin Tian’s gaze shifted from the fireworks in the sky to their faces. They sat on a bench Lin Tian had moved over, heads raised, little hands pointing to the sky, watching as one firework faded, another rose, and burst forth in spectacular splendor.

Their eyes were unblinking, afraid of missing this fleeting moment of brilliance.

Their delicate upturned noses, flawless faces, and eyes filled with starlight seemed to hold a magical power, deeply captivating Lin Tian’s attention.

They laughed with genuine happiness, which was rooted in their hearts and spread throughout their bodies. With no pretense and forgotten burdens, it was as if time rewound by over a decade; they were those carefree little girls again.

”So beautiful,” Mei Ruyan admired as she looked at the sky.

”Yes, beautiful,” Lin Tian looked at her cheek and murmured.

Lin Tian had never seen Mei Ruyan smile so happily; in fact, her smile was very beautiful, especially those eyes under the long eyelashes, like starlight.

Lin Tian leaned over, bowed his head, and asked softly at her ear, ”Do you like it?”

Mei Ruyan was watching the sky intently, afraid to miss a moment. Lin Tian’s voice suddenly sounded beside her ear, carrying warmth, and all of it entered her ears. It suddenly made Mei Ruyan’s body shiver, and her heart began to pound violently, like a little deer crashing around inside.

”I-I like it...” She watched the sky, not daring to look back at Lin Tian. But at this moment, her attention was no longer on the fireworks.

”What do you like?” Lin Tian teasingly asked.

”Of course, the fireworks,” Mei Ruyan hurriedly replied.

”What about me?”

”I don’t like you.”

”Why?”

”The fireworks are much more beautiful than you,” Mei Ruyan whispered, her voice completely covered by the crackling sound of fireworks, as if she hadn’t spoken at all.

By this time, the three 36-shot tubes of fireworks had all been spent, falling dim lightning ashes, and the sky returned to pitch black. The sound of exploding fireworks ceased too, and only the wind remained, as if everything had returned to peace.

However, Liou Qingcheng’s enthusiasm did not wane; she grabbed Bai Shishi’s hand and said, ”There are still many, let’s set off some more.”

Bai Shishi responded with a laugh, grasped the lighter, and ran out together with Liou Qingcheng.

Mei Ruyan did not move but looked around, ensuring no one was paying attention to her before leaning a bit closer to Lin Tian.

Pop~

Suddenly, a pair of vivid crimson lips landed on Lin Tian’s cheek like a dragonfly skimming water, disappearing almost as quickly as he sensed the warm touch, the beauty by his side darted away.

After lighting the fuses, the three of them ran back, holding their clean little faces up to the sky, awaiting the fireworks to explode.

Lin Tian intended to tease Mei Ruyan a little but didn’t expect her to sit quite far away, seemingly deliberately avoiding him.

Suddenly, Bai Shishi tapped Lin Tian on the shoulder. Lin Tian turned his head to see Bai Shishi pointing at his right cheek, her face wearing a playful smile.

Lin Tian paused for a moment before quickly realizing, touching his right cheek where Mei Ruyan had kissed earlier, there still remained a lipstick mark.
