The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 873: Chapter 873: All Men Are Big Pig Hooves

Mei Ruyan, being poor at expressing herself, felt embarrassed when Bai Shishi exposed her in front of everyone. Her face instantly showed discomfort. She glared at Bai Shishi fiercely and snorted coldly, not bothering to refute.

If it were the past, Bai Shishi would definitely seize the opportunity to further tease Mei Ruyan, but she really didn’t have the mood for it now.

Lin Tian leaned against the pillow, his gaze paused for a few seconds on Mei Ruyan’s pretty face. Besides her teary-swollen eyes, he couldn’t see anything else.

”Are you hurt anywhere?” Lin Tian asked cautiously.

Mei Ruyan shook her head, ”No, I’m just as exhausted physically as last time at Luoyan Dock.”

”What about the Spiritual Qi? How is your Sea of Qi feeling now?” Lin Tian inquired further.

Mei Ruyan was slightly confused for a moment, then said, ”Did you forget? I grew up outside, I’ve never practiced the Xu Family’s Heart Method, so where would I get any Spiritual Qi?”

”Uh...” Lin Tian opened his mouth and closed it again, forgetting that Mei Ruyan didn’t know about such things.

Lin Tian patted the edge of the bed and said, ”Come sit over here, let me check.”

Bai Shishi immediately raised her eyebrows at Mei Ruyan, teasingly said, ”Quickly go over there, Lin Tian is worried about you now.”

Sitting on the bed was a relatively intimate gesture. If it were another man, Mei Ruyan might have made him suffer even more.

But since it was Lin Tian, she felt it was normal, as if she was supposed to do so.

Mei Ruyan stood up from the sofa, walked to Lin Tian’s bedside, sat down, and calmly said, ”Go ahead.”

Lin Tian’s gaze lingered on her for two or three seconds, and he said, ”Extend your hand.”

”Why stretch my hand? Aren’t you going to check me?”

”Pfft...” Bai Shishi couldn’t hold back her laughter, ”He means to check your pulse! What else did you think? Just simply looking at you? Then there’s no need to sit so close on the bedside, right? I’m still here, if you want to do something else, you’d have to get rid of me first, right?”

Mei Ruyan’s face turned beet red, never having encountered such an embarrassing situation before, she didn’t know what to say to ease the awkwardness. She could only keep silent, maintaining her usual coolness.

Suddenly, Lin Tian forcibly pulled her hand over, startling Mei Ruyan.

”Did you faint?” Lin Tian asked with a smile.

”Three days.”

”Has your body had any discomfort these past few days?”

”No, I’ve been eating well and sleeping well.”

”Really?” Lin Tian smiled with narrowed eyes. Meanwhile, he held Mei Ruyan’s hand with one hand, gently scratching the palm of her hand with the other.

Immediately, Mei Ruyan’s body stiffened. Her palm being scratched like that felt ticklish and numb, very strange.

In that instant, Mei Ruyan pulled her hand back, her pretty eyebrows almost raised, ”What are you doing!”

Bai Shishi, sitting a bit away on the sofa, didn’t see the earlier movements clearly and curiously asked, ”What are you two up to, making secret gestures?”

”Nothing!” Mei Ruyan denied immediately. With Bai Shishi watching, she suddenly felt like she was caught in the act.

Lin Tian chuckled and said, ”What did it feel like just now?”

”Nothing at all!”

”Was it numb? Ticklish? Did you feel an urge to not stay seated?” Lin Tian asked with a smile.

The more Bai Shishi listened, the more curious she became, wondering what these two were up to earlier.

Mei Ruyan glared fiercely at Lin Tian, ”Can you really tell if something’s wrong with me this way?!”

Lin Tian thought for a moment, shrugged, and replied honestly, ”No.”

Mei Ruyan felt both embarrassed and angry, having been teased by this wicked guy again!

”I just thought you were too tense these days and wanted to help you relax. Also, make sure to rest more lately, don’t lift heavy things, and don’t overwork yourself, especially at night, rest early.”

Looking at Lin Tian’s earnest demeanor, Mei Ruyan couldn’t bring herself to hate him. Most importantly, she felt there was something unsaid in his words.

”You said the same thing last time. What’s wrong with me? Tell me!” Mei Ruyan was a bit anxious. She wasn’t fooled by the little trick of scratching her palm, this guy must have noticed something.

Lin Tian gently patted her back, smiling as he said, ”Why are you so anxious? There’s nothing wrong. Just think, how terrifying that elder is, and you managed to control him with the Charm Technique; not being counterattacked is already fortunate enough. It’s only natural to rest more, isn’t it?”

Mei Ruyan looked at Lin Tian, blinking and asking, ”Really?”

”Of course, it’s true. The elder fell for your Charm Technique entirely because of your charm bone. Your charm bone is innate, and if damaged there’s no medicine to heal it, only plenty of rest will allow it to heal on its own, understand?”

Mei Ruyan nodded, still feeling that Lin Tian was hiding something from her.

Actually, when Lin Tian scratched Mei Ruyan’s hand just now, he had already transmitted Spiritual Qi into her body, discovering that her Spiritual Qi was slowly recovering.

This filled Lin Tian’s mind with questions. The recovery of Spiritual Qi requires operating the Heart Method to absorb it from outside the boundary; it doesn’t automatically replenish, since nothing in this world comes for free.

However, looking at Mei Ruyan’s puzzled expression, she didn’t seem aware of her physical condition. Naturally, Lin Tian didn’t mention it, less said, less trouble.

This mystery can only be solved by asking Miaoqiu when he visits him in the future.

”Hey, by the way. Where’s Zhao Qingtang? Didn’t she call you all earlier? Why is she not here now?” Lin Tian asked curiously.

”She said she had something to do and left first.” Bai Shishi also sat at the edge of Lin Tian’s bed, squinting her eyes and asked with a smile, ”I quite like Qingtang; she’s real and unpretentious, speaks her mind. However...I noticed she’s quite concerned about you, practically running to the hospital everyday almost moving in. Do you have some story with her?”

Lin Tian smiled wryly, ”What story could I have with her? Her grandfather is my teacher; I met her when visiting their home. Sometimes we discuss some medical academic issues. Just friends, I guess.”

”Alright, alright, friends.” Bai Shishi laughed again, ”How many such friends do you have?”

Lin Tian answered almost without hesitation, ”Quite a few, Wu Yong, Li, Meng Nan, Tian Ming, they all count.”

Bai Shishi slapped Lin Tian’s leg and said, ”Stop pretending! I mean the girls.”

”Ouch! Hurts!” Lin Tian grimaced.

”Stop pretending! Your injury is in your chest, why does your leg hurt? No topic-shifting, be honest. You’re attracting more friends it seems.”

Lin Tian sweated, surrounded by so many excellent women.

Even the most stable vinegar jar would tip over.

Mei Ruyan said, ”Stop questioning him. Look at him, even if he says something, it might not be the truth.”

”I suppose so.” Bai Shishi slapped Lin Tian’s leg again, saying, ”You men are such pigs!”
