The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 405: Chapter 405: Du Dahai’s Weakness

Due to the effects of the red wine, Xu Ning’an’s face still had a rosy blush. She squinted at Lin Tian, as if there were a thousand words she wanted to say to him.

Seeing the confusion and fascination in her eyes, Lin Tian coughed lightly to change the subject, ”Dinner’s done, maybe we can talk about business now.”

Hearing this, Xu Ning’an seemed quite disappointed, but finally, she sighed and began to talk about Du Dahai’s weak spot.

”A few days ago, do you know who those people that tied me up were working for?”

”No, I only know it was a small emerging faction that Wu Yong had been monitoring for days before making his move. I didn’t expect you to be involved.”

Lin Tian thought for a while and then asked, ”Could those people be related to Du Dahai?”

”More than just related, they are Du Dahai’s men. But they’re not just ordinary thugs.”

”They not only have guns but grenades too. When Wu Yong went there that day, they almost drew their guns.”

”How do you know all this?” Lin Tian frowned.

”I found out those people were suspicious, and when I went there to investigate, I was discovered and captured.”

Xu Ning’an rolled her eyes, ”Actually, they were trafficking weapons. Just the day before Wu Yong went there, the basement of that bar was still hiding a large batch of weapons. After they moved that batch, Wu Yong went and took the place over.”

”What!” Lin Tian exclaimed.

Are Du Dahai and his people involved in weapons trafficking?

Lin Tian began to get excited. As long as no one dies, the Security Management Institute can turn a blind eye.

But weapons trafficking, if known to the Security Management Institute, they would be raided immediately, and no one could protect them. This challenges the national security.

When that time comes, not only the Security Management Institute but the Inspectorate will form a major cases team. Not only Du Dahai will fall, but all his forces will crumble.

Besides Du Dahai, Bai Shishi will be the first to be taken down. After all, apart from Du Dahai, Bai Shishi’s forces are the strongest.

However, from today onwards, as long as Bai Shishi’s men lie low and don’t do anything illegal, they can get through this safely.

Lin Tian looked at Xu Ning’an, paused for a few seconds, and said, ”So, the leverage you mentioned is evidence of their weapons trafficking?”

Xu Ning’an smiled and nodded, ”I’ve been watching them for over two months. If I wasn’t this certain, would I have risked going to their hideout? Not only that, but I also got some explosive news.”

Lin Tian’s interest was piqued, his curiosity was eminent, ”What is it?”

”The day I reached their hideout, they were moving that batch of weapons elsewhere. I even heard the address they were transporting them to. But later, I was unfortunately discovered. They originally intended to kill me but hesitated upon realizing I was a cop.”

Lin Tian’s heart warmed, the news Xu Ning’an brought today was truly one delight after another.

”What do you plan to do? Expose them right away?”

At this point, Lin Tian was already imagining Du Dahai’s imprisonment.

Truly satisfying.

Yet, Xu Ning’an shook her head, ”Before I met you, I did plan on doing that. But now, it’s different.”

”What do you mean?”

Xu Ning’an chuckled slyly, ”Aren’t you interested in that batch of weapons?”

Hearing her words, Lin Tian’s heart skipped a beat.

It had to be admitted, it’s indeed a good plan.

However, Lin Tian shook his head, ”Compared to that batch of weapons, I’m more eager to see Du Dahai fall. Besides, those weapons are troublesome.”

With Du Dahai’s downfall, the underground forces in Kanyue City would momentarily empty, allowing Lin Tian to seize control. That’s not something a mere batch of weapons could achieve.

”Thinking a batch of weapons could topple Du Dahai? You’re a bit naive. For one, Du Dahai also has connections in the legal world. They could easily find someone to take the fall, then clear themselves. The real loss would just be them temporarily not transporting weapons.”

”But if you hijack those weapons, it’s a different story. You’ll not only have a trump card, reducing Du Dahai’s power and catching him off guard, but you might even scare him enough to halt any further actions.”

Xu Ning’an’s words seemed to open a new path for Lin Tian. Right, only by hijacking that batch of weapons could they inflict the biggest blow.

Lin Tian enjoyed such win-win situations.

Looking at Xu Ning’an’s pretty face, Lin Tian couldn’t quite decipher her. Not long ago, her hatred for evil was palpable, but now her scheming nature was a striking contrast.

Lin Tian looked at her seriously, ”Why do you want to help me?”

Xu Ning’an smirked, ”Because helping you means helping myself. I have deep grievances too.”

At this point, Xu Ning’an apparently touched on a sore subject, and tears streamed down her face, ruining her light makeup.

Seeing her so upset, Lin Tian handed her a tissue, kindly asking, ”Can you tell me about it? Don’t bottle up your feelings. You’ll feel better if you share.”

Xu Ning’an wiped away her tears and looked at Lin Tian with her clear eyes. After pondering for a while, she nodded, ”Let’s talk somewhere else.”

”Alright.”

They went to a hotpot restaurant. She said she loved eating such sweat-inducing food on summer nights because breaking a sweat felt great.

Lin Tian agreed. The steak earlier was just an appetizer; it couldn’t satisfy hunger.

Lin Tian initially wanted to eat in the main hall, but Xu Ning’an insisted on a private room. She didn’t want others to see her smeared makeup from crying.

Though the two couldn’t eat much, they still ordered a table full of meat dishes and several bottles of beer.

Looking across at Lin Tian, Xu Ning’an seemed somewhat displeased.

She patted the chair beside her and, in a commanding tone, said, ”You, sit here. When a girl wants to share her thoughts with you, how can I speak if you sit so far away? There’s not even a shoulder to lean on.”

Helplessly, Lin Tian chuckled and moved to sit beside her.

”Let’s drink first!” she exclaimed boldly.

Then she rolled up her sleeves, opened two bottles of beer, and downed half a bottle in one go.

Drinking too fast, she started coughing violently.

Lin Tian took the bottle from her hand and gently patted her back, ”Slow down, no one’s competing with you.”

The coughing gradually stopped, and her tears silently flowed again.

Then, her head rested on Lin Tian’s shoulder. She began to sob, then suddenly wailed loudly.
