The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1499: Gift Prepared

A vast expanse of shallow water stretched endlessly.

Mild ripples hummed beneath the celestial glow of the radiant crimson, spherical celestial body.

Suspended in the heavens like an all-seeing eye, this celestial objectʼs radiance bathed the landscape in an eerie, blood-like luminance. The night was still, hauntingly still, yet power crackled in the air, unseen but tangible, saturating every breath of the realm with the weight of divinity.

Hovered at the heart was a robust and endearing mountain.

Jagged, towering, and old beyond mortal reckoning—it stood on shallow water like a divine monolith.

Its peak was crowned with an ethereal torrent of crimson Godly energy.

Hostile and robust, this volatile force sizzled and snapped in the air, arcing like spectral lightning across the summit, painting the night with fleeting flashes of primal power. Anyone treading to this peak would find the journey taking their entire lives and beyond.

It wasnʼt a normal mountain—it was a throne of ancient sovereignty and dominance.

At its apex, the Godly energy hinted at another air of uncertainty.

A fresh hint that shouldnʼt have happened, the hint of defeat.

Seated upon a throne of bones and blood was a figure that dwarfed even the grandeur of the peak.

A Werewolf—massive, regal, and wreathed in an aura of silent menace that exuded the tasteful scent of blood and violence. His deep red fur shimmered like liquid rubies sundered under the moonʼs glow, each strand aglow with the essence of something unfathomably divine.

His form was hunched forward, elbows braced against his thighs, and hands clasped together.

A God-predator in the midst of thought, a God in quiet contemplation.

Then, an infiltrator descended from the sky in a burst of golden light, landing right on the mountain peak.

Growl!

From the swirling distortion of Godly energy, which defied the very fabric of fundamental laws, came an elegant wolf cloaked in hues of yellow and gold. As she stepped forward, her radiant form shimmered beautifully, the golden essence clinging to her fur dispersing in luminous wisps with a single shake.

Then, with eyes like molten moonlight, she fixed her gaze upon the Werewolf on the throne.

”Kaiser…” Meloriana called. ”Our link to the mortal realm is severed, we canʼt locate him.”

As she said that, Kaiser let the words linger in the air for a couple more seconds.

”I knew what you know,” He replied without turning to look at Meloriana. ”I donʼt need you to tell me.”

”Are you planning on letting him get away with this? The shame he brought upon us is unforgivable,” Meloriana growled with rage—she couldnʼt accept this outcome. ”Lady Scarlet is laughing at our sheer incompetence, the Forsaken Matter pitied us, and even the Grandfather Beast dared now to mock us! Is that not bothering you?!”

”Force your way to locate him, only you can do it. He is of your moonʼs birth.” She demanded.

”Patience…” Kaiser replied, his tone dropped an octave lower.

A tone that took Meloriana by surprise.

Just then, however, as she stared into Kaiser properly—her eyes slightly widened.

Normally, Kaiser was the most fiery and impulsive, acting first—and worrying about the consequences later. But now, an unnerving calm had settled over him. There was a quiet resoluteness in his stance, a controlled intensity that made him far more unsettling than when he mindlessly surrendered to his red, beastly instincts that solely focus on blood and gore.

Such a sight was the first time for Meloriana in a really long while.

”The others are lying low for now, I hated them for this—so I can only talk with you,” Meloriana finally confessed, her expression turned sombre. ”Just answer me this, are you also going to lay low and allow the Royal Black Prince for what he had done?”

Upon hearing this, Kaiser turned to look at her for the first time in this entire conversation.

His lips curled a little before a surge of crimson mist surrounded Meloriana.

It swallowed her whole and shot to the sky—Kaiser had kicked her out of his God realm.

Meloriana didnʼt get her answer through words, but the small smile was answer enough.

Once she was gone, banished from this God realm and returned to the silence once more, Kaiser stood up from his throne. His entire bearing shook the very foundation of the realm. Then, slowly, he turned his gaze up to the Blood Moon above.

Like nothing, he pulled the Blood Moon closer—causing the entire sky to be blotted out by it.

He spreads his arms to the sides and basks under the moonlight.

Slowly, his Godly aura enveloped the entire realm and grew stronger by the second—a crushing weight that has the power to shatter worlds and topple space and time itself. Even the wind, which howled and blew through the heavens of lesser realms, dared not whisper in this moment.

”You will not save Nivellen, the gift I prepared for you will make sure of that.” He mumbled lightly.

And in the next second, the entire realm was drowned by crimson moonlight energy.

…

After a fierce battle, it took some time before the body could return to its normal state.

It would take longer for someone like Rex.

His rage was boiling his blood so much that even now, he was still panting like a bull.

Rexʼs senses remained razor-sharp—keen, heightened, and acutely aware of every detail around him.

He could hear Crimoriaʼs soft breaths even through her helmet—and catch the faint, sweet fragrance of fruit on her exhale. Moreover, every movement and every whisper from the heirs as they searched the area reached his ears with perfect clarity.

One of the greatest perks of being a Werewolf, his senses were paramount.

Naturally, when something was staring at him intently right now with killing intent, he could feel it.

He could feel it as if someone was grabbing him by his shoulders.

Not to mention, there was also the System.

…

Threat Level: Mid

Description: A special Voidal Knight harbored killing intent towards the user—for murdering Terra the Seismic Serpent. A mere no-name beast dared to harbor hatred towards the user, the apex of beasts! Kill it and show who is the stronger beast!

Time Limit: 10 minutes.

…

Glancing to his side, a blue holographic light pulsed from where he stood and probed the area ahead.

It was then that a stat window appeared and Rex instantly located the second one.

A beast that was hiding within a hole on a nearby rock formation.

On top of its aura being light, its form and even eyes were earth-colored, blending with the surroundings.

Hmm… Itʼs not as strong as the serpent, but strong enough for my current state.

But I canʼt beat it right now, I ran out of life energy.

Rex contemplated how he should approach this—he only has 10 minutes to think of a way to kill the second special Voidal Knight before he was bestowed with a penalty. He couldnʼt do it alone, and in hindsight, he shouldʼve called the heirs for help.

But he was concerned that the heirs would be too slow, they were still too green to execute a swift kill.

As he contemplated, a voice rang inside his head—it was Amanir.

[Hey, Rex, get back here this instant!]

What? What happened?

[I donʼt know what happened, but Kraken was becoming frantic, it was trying to get out!]

What?! Shit, wait for me there.

Not even wasting a single second, Rex stored the serpentʼs carcass into his inventory as well as the Life Gem—before sprinting back to the carriage. Once he arrived there, he saw through the window of the main carriage that Amanir was struggling.

He was holding back Kraken, who was, as he said, being frantic suddenly.

Rex looked around and found several soldiers stationed around the main carriage.

Some of them were already starting to notice the commotion inside.

Fortunately, due to their trained discipline, none of them dared to turn and look into the main carriage.

Had even one of them done, Krakenʼs identity would be exposed.

”Uh, Crimoria,” Rex stopped and turned to Crimoria, blocking her gaze toward the main carriage with his massive frame. ”I have something to talk to Amanir inside, can you tell your soldiers to make some privacy for me?”

”O- Of course, Lord Rex.” Crimoria nodded and instantly commanded the soldiers.

All took five steps forward under her command.

Rex nodded his head and walked to the main carriage, fully expecting Kraken to be nearing his first berserk.

Kraken was still a newborn Werewolf of the Silverstar Pack, it hadnʼt assimilated with a birth moon yet, which was going to be the Blood Moon. Though the Blood Moon was still more than thirty days away, Rex didnʼt rule out the possibility of Kraken going berserk.

In addition, the System had also specified that Krakenʼs bloodline was an anomaly.

The Ecliptic Devil bloodline is a bloodline for creatures that werenʼt supposed to be Werewolves.

Rex felt indebted to the Three-faced Leecher for saving his life.

Thus, he decided to take care of Kraken, but this might be a horrendous mistake.

Along the way, Rex glanced left and right in contemplation.

Linthia and Viora shouldnʼt be in the main carriage, right? She was wounded—and healing her in the main carriage would only dirty its interior. This is good. I canʼt let Viora out of all people know that I was taking care of a Voidal Monster, that Kraken wasnʼt my brother but a monster.

Picking up his pace, Rex climbed the main carriage and opened the door.

”Kraken, Kraken…” He instantly called as he closed the door behind him. ”Whatʼs wrong? Iʼm here.”

Hearing his voice, Kraken squealed.

He tried harder to get out of the Bronze Blinding Syal.

”Amanir, how exactly did this begin?” Rex turned to Amanir—who was holding Kraken down by pinning the syal onto the ground with his ears. ”It hasnʼt acted like this before. Explain to me exactly how this happened, there might be clues.”

Instead of answering, Amanir looked at him and put on a wry smile.

Rex frowned harder, he didnʼt understand the reason—behind his silence. ”What are you doing? Answer me, quick! We canʼt let the others, especially Viora to know about Kraken being the offspring of a special Voidal Knight.”

Just then, Rex noticed that Amanir was looking at his behind.

Confused, Rex hesitantly glanced over his shoulders before his breath hitched in his throat.

There, sitting on the corner beside the door, was Viora.

She tended to Linthia, watching Rex panic, fearing she would learn about Kraken in silence, fully unaware that she had been silently watching—from start to finish. Their eyes met, and for a moment of profundity, an awkward silence hung thick between them.

The silence was so deafening that his senses became numb.

Once Rex realized that Viora had been here all along, his eyes widened and he abruptly stood up.

Buk!

His head hit the ceiling, making him flinch as he instinctively rubbed the sore spot.

But he ignored the soreness, his focus was solely on Viora.

How in the world did I not sense her?!

Rex was flabbergasted, she was so close and yet he couldnʼt sense her presence at all.

Is it because of her healing ability? Her presence became so light that I didnʼt notice her inches away.

”Donʼt worry about this, Lord Rex,” Viora forced out a dry, awkward laugh. ”I wonʼt tell a soul.”

”And why should I trust you? All spirits hated Voidal Monsters.” Rex asked.

”Iʼm one of the progressive spirits, you might call,” Viora answered, dissipating her life energy that was healing Linthia—which also made her presence more solid. ”People hated Voidal Monsters, yes, but a small group of them was open-minded enough to use Voidal Monsters to help them fight other Voidal Monsters. And Iʼm one of those open-minded people.”

”Huh…” Rex exhaled sharply, still doubtful, but there was nothing he could do. ”Is that really a thing?”

”Yes.” Viora smiled. ”Go on, do what you have to do. Donʼt mind my presence.”
